Story
Joan of Barc was dumped on the side of the road in Alabama nearly dead. The vet said she was almost bred to death. She had heart-worms and various other injuries, but she's now HW free, spayed, and healthy! Because of her questionable former life she does not do well with cats, and is currently in training and getting better with dogs each time. She doesn’t know how to interact with them and gets over-excited and makes them uncomfortable. She LOVES humans, big and small. She's been around children and is amazing with all ages. Older kids would be better because she is strong and sometimes forgets her strength. She is house trained and crate trained; and along with her training on how to interact with other dogs, she is learning leash walking and other basic commands. She is very food motivated and extremely smart, picking up new training in no time. She also redirects from stressful situations very easily as long as you have a treat. :) She has an average amount of energy but her favorite pastime is chewing on water bottles and watching TV. She is a very gentle soul and the bestest girl. She was abused in her previous life and deserves to live in luxury the for the rest of it. She needs someone looking for a companion, but it doesn't matter what kind - family, adventure, couch potato- she can do it all. She just enjoys life now that it's not at the end of a chain. She's the bestest, sweetest doll baby and all she needs is a chance. Things she excels at: 🐶 Napping 🐶Snuggling 🐶 Helping with household chores 🐶 Zoomies 🐶Snacking Watch our Facebook video here If Joan would be the perfect addition to your family, please apply💜! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adoption-application PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT NORTH TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
CHARLESTON IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN. CHARLESTON WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE HE IS ADOPTED!    This hunk is Charleston. He is a four year old Bulldog mix. He is the sweetest fun loving goofball. He is a big boy who loves attention. He wants you to pet him, and he wants to lean into you with his whole body. He does not meet a stranger in a person or dog. He loves playing in the backyard with his toys, and then lounging on the porch sunbathing. He gets excited to go anywhere. He will run to the door and wait for you to let him out- then he jumps right in the car. This adorable boy has the most stunning eyes. We believe Charleston has some hearing loss. He seems to hear some pitches, but either doesn’t hear the others or ignores them. He does good walking on a leash, is kennel trained, and house trained. He loves greatly- he will become your shadow. If he wants your attention he will whine/talk to you to let you know. Charleston is a big boy with still a lot of puppy energy so a home with older children would be best. This guy is amazing, and deserves the perfect forever home! He is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped.  His adoption fee of $500 includes the transport to PA.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Charleston up north to his new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at:   newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com You can apply to adopt Charleston  here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 24, 2023, 9:44 am

Story
This handsome boy is Chance and he is about 5-6 years old. Chance is looking for a new home as his owner can no longer take care of him due to health issues. He is fine with lounging around all day as long as you lounge with him. He really likes his people and gets anxious when left home alone. Chance has lived with cats in the past and has done fine with them. He has not lived with another dog, so he would do best in a home without other dogs. He does get excited and forgets his size, so a home without children would be best. Chance currently needs to eat wet food (or dry food that is soaked in warm water) due to having some dental issues. He also shouldn’t have hard chew toys/bones. He does love his soft toys though! Chance is neutered but needs to be updated on his shots. Chance would love a new best friend that can spend lots of time with him and provide him with a nice comfy place to relax. Chance is lovable and wants to please! If interested in giving Chance a loving home please contact Mariah @ mariahwazher@gmail.com *These are listings for pets not associated with Canine Rescue of Central PA (CRCPA). Story
What' s black and white, filled with greatness, and everybody's favorite? It's Oreo - but we are not talking about cookies! We are talking about one of our shelter residents commonly known as Oreo! Oreo was in a home for about 2.5 years and was returned due to no fault of his own. Oreo is about 7 years old and would really like to get back to the home life. Oreo is in training and the volunteers are helping him adjust again to being in the kennel. He is very smart and responding to his team. He has been a highlight of our volunteer's day and is always keeping us entertained. He has a blast romping in the play yard- playing fetch, tug, and performing tricks. Look no further for your adventure partner, co-pilot, snuggle buddy, and partner in crime. This guy knows how to make the best out of any event! - Car Rides? Yes, please! - Kiddos? Loves them! - Vet Trips? Why not! - Hiking? He's ready! - Meeting new people? Let's go! - Training games? Absolutely - and he comes with a paid trainer! The only thing Oreo is not fond of is other dogs or cats. While he has learned that he doesn't have to be reactive to all, there are still some that he just doesn't like. Oreo is asking for a family where he can be the only pet. No worries though, this guy is enough puppy sunshine to fill up your entire house and life! Neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives Oreo is all set to get adjusted in his forever home. He walks well on a leash, is house trained, and crate trained. To set up a time to meet this happy boy, email us at adopt@crcpa.org!
