Story
Hi, I'm Tank! I'm a big softie, despite my tough-sounding name. I'm the perfect companion for those cozy nights in, always ready to snuggle up on the couch. I'm also great at making people smile, my sweetness is just infectious! I'm a good listener, too. You can tell me all about your day, and I'll just wag my tail in understanding. I do have a little quirk though - I'm quite protective over my food. But hey, who isn't a little protective over their favorite things? I'm just waiting for my forever home where I can share all this sweetness and warmth. Adopting me means gaining a loyal, loving friend who will always be there to brighten up your day. Why not let me bring some joy into your life?

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER : Lively, Lovely, LaLa, aka Lala-palooza, Lala-pop! PERSONALITY : It's hard to believe that Lala hasn't been snapped up as yet. She's smart and loves everyone she meets. This energetic girl loves fresh veggies, fruit, ice cubes and a vigorous "butt scratch." Have you ever had that friend or relative that overstays their welcome? You know you have. Do not despair as there is a solution. Lala definitely has the bulldog "toots" that are guaranteed to clear out a room (or unwanted guests). Just remember to "breathe through your mouth". :) If you're looking for a dog with the personality of a potato, Lala is not the dog for you; lazy is not in Lala's DNA. If you want a hiking or running companion or a dog (with training) that would excel in lure coursing, agility, fly ball or any other high energy sport, Lala's your girl. Ahhh, if only there were a way to harness all that energy. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES : Lala is a high energy pup that loves to fetch... though she hasn't quite grasped the idea of releasing yet, she is working on it. Lala is a pup that never passes up the opportunity for a good game of tug of war. MEDICAL ISSUES : None. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME : Lala would do best in an active home with a fenced yard where she can run around to her heart’s content and burn some of that high energy off. Lala can quite play rough with other dogs. A home where she the only dog soaking up the attention or a home with another large male dog that matches her energy would be best. Kids older than 12 would be best as Lala may knock a smaller child down. Lala would greatly benefit from positive reinforcement obedience classes. Though Lala loves to go for a ride, she does get car sick so best not to feed her before she hops in the car. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. Fozzie Bear is one big boy! He loves to ride in the car. He loads right up the minute you open the door, making sure not to be left behind! He quietly sits in his seat and watches out the window.Fozzie would do best as an only pet, as he is not good with other dogs or cats. He loves people!! We are USDA certified, and WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, Microchip, heartworm tested, Mississippi Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible.*** We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Chance came to us after sitting/laying on a concrete kennel floor with a "breeder" who didn't know what to do with a puppy that couldn't use his back legs :(  We were contacted and although we typically do not take large dogs we felt the need to help. We had him with 2 different vets both saying he would never walk again, even our medical director did not hold out any hope.  We just knew we had to try so the Director started researching and working on his back legs and then we started using a cold laser wand and a wheel chair and within months Chance went from the chair to what we called "wonky walking" and now he races around the field!!! Chance is a typical bulldog doing what he wants and he is big so making him do anything is definitely not easy LOL.  He has learned the hand signal for sit and he will do it on command because he knows he gets a treat :) He is good with most dogs but we have found he is not fond of shihtzu's.  At the ranch he lives with cats coming in and out and has no interest in them.  Now if they gave him a hard time I'm pretty sure it would be game on! Chance may as he gets old need to revert back to a cart so we are looking for a home with either no stairs or only 1 or 2.   I do not suggest Chance for small children he is WAY to rambuncious and for some reason very fixated on them. If you have the right setup for a dog like Chance please fill out an applicationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! 🌟 Miley – The Happy-Go-Lucky Companion You’ve Been Waiting For! 🌟 Meet Miley, a joyful young girl with a heart as big as her smile! At just around 8 months old, this mixed-breed beauty already has great manners and a whole lot of love to give. Miley recently got all her vaccinations and has been spayed, so she’s ready for her forever family! She weighs in at 39 pounds—a perfect medium size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between. She’s house-trained and crate-trained, and does wonderfully spending the workday (about 8½ hours) in her crate without any trouble. When you’re home, she’s eager to be part of the action and may bark to remind you she’s ready for attention or playtime. Miley is great with other dogs and loves kids, though she’s a bit of a bouncy bundle of energy—so she’d do best in a home without very young children or babies. She hasn’t met cats or other animals yet, but she’s shown no signs of aggression at all—just pure excitement and affection! This girl loves the outdoors, whether she’s running, playing, or just exploring the yard—though she’ll gladly skip rainy days in favor of a cozy nap inside. 💛 Miley is the perfect match for an active home that can give her time, training, and love. In return, she’ll shower you with loyalty, laughter, and endless tail wags. 📄 Vet records and proof of spay/vaccines available upon request.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Do you need a friend to watch dog TikToks with? Mr. Carl Bones is your guy! He enjoys watching dog videos on TikTok. His favorites are Princess Poppy and Dozer’s World. This sweet, 6 mo old boxer mix was found as a stray, starving to death and in pitiful shape, when he was just a baby. It took a while to get him healthy enough to complete his vetting. He was severely anemic from fleas, ticks, and worms, so we had to handle that first, and get some weight on him, before he could be neutered. Thanks to a very kind and committed foster mama, he is now healthy, happy, well socialized, and fully vetted. Carl is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and he loves other dogs, cats, and chickens. He loves all humans, including kids. He is just a fabulous pup, and as a bonus, he has the cutest little under bite imaginable! We believe he is a Boxer mix but probably wont be as large as a full boxer. He is currently about 30 lbs at 6 months old, so he may top out at 40-50 lbs. From Carl’s foster mom: He always looks at me like he is waiting for me to talk to him. Willing to do anything I say. He knows sit and stay, down, shake. I usually do it in sign language to him because I am on the phone alot. He also knows the words morning snacks, daytime snacks and night time snacks. Mr Bones loves his snacks and loves to play. He is a medium-high energy pup. He plays great with the other dogs in the house and thinks he is the same size as the other dogs that are easily 2-3 times his size. He does seem to be teething but has not been chewing anything but dog toys. Don’t miss out on this beautiful, well behaved, sweet boy! In New England To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 Message us or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
Hi, my name is Diego, and I am a 4 year old boxer/pit mix that loves to run and play. I have never been on a leash, as my mom has just let me run around the backyard. I love to play with small kids. (They have lots of fun and energy). . I remember we used to run around the house and play. Which was annoying to mom, but fun for us. We had a lot of good laughs. I like riding in the car . I like watching all the cars pass by. I don`t bark at them because I know to use my inside voice. I am also good with most dogs. I am kennel trained and house trained. When I need to use the bathroom, I will nudge the handle to the back door to let my mom know I need to go outside. I am also treat motivated. I love to play tug-a-war with a rope. I love stuffed animals, too. I have lots of energy, so the more toys and play time the better. When my mom sits on the floor to play. I have tried to sit in her lap, but she says no because I am too big. So, I enjoy snuggling next to her.I live in Houston, Tx, but can transport to you, they said for $300. I have to go now. I have lots of playing to do. Hope to meet you soon.Love,Diego
