Story
Ruuufff! I'm Nutmeg, and I'm the sweetest gal you'll ever meet. If you're looking for a cuddler and a great family dog, then I'm the pup for you. My foster family says that I "have an infinite amount of love to give to my favorite humans. Belly rubs, toys, and naps are a few of my favorite things. As much as I love relaxation, I do still enjoy walks, playtime, and adventures as well. I would prefer to go to a home where I am the only animal, so that I can soak up ALL of your attention! I'm also SUPER smart. I've already learned how to give a high-five! If you decide to take me home, you are in for a lifetime of snuggles, laughter, and love. Where I Came From: BFP rescued me from a pound seizure situation. I was once a stray dog that ended up in a shelter - only to be sold off to a laboratory. It was scary and painful, but I'm happy to be where I am now! If you are interested in adopting Nutmeg, please fill out an adoption application at https://bfp.org/rescue/ and email us with questions: adopt@bfp.org. Location: Los Angeles Area

We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.11/10/23  Jester Jester would be the perfect dog for someone who wants a protector. He is very protective of his home, yard, and humans. He LOVES other dogs and will play with the dogs in his foster home for hours. His former adopter had several tiny dogs that Jester got along with very well, and he is also good with cats. He needs an adopter who won't mind his protective nature. This means that when company is over to visit, Jester needs to be separate from them, whether in a different room or in a crate, because he can't differentiate between welcome guests and a threatening presence. He is incredibly loyal to the ones he loves. He enjoys car rides. When his former adopter took him everywhere with her, he did well in public places. He just needs an adopter who will understand that while he will be very loving and loyal to them, he may not be that way to visitors in the home and needs to be protected from any situation that could make him feel that his family or home is being threatened. Once you know him, you can't help but love him. He really has a sweet, fun personality and he responds very well to kindness and affection. This handsome, silly boy came into rescue from a shelter, where he had been brought in on an abuse case. We believe he is an Exotic Bully. He was in very bad condition, with lots of hair missing, and cherry eyes that needed corrective surgery. We had his eyes fixed and had him neutered and ask the other vetting we do for everyone in our rescue. Jester was adopted locally and was very loved by his new mom, but then some things happened in her life and she could not keep him. This was no fault of Jester's or his adopter, it was truly necessary for him to come back to us. So now he is back in his foster home and is doing well there, but he needs a home of his own. Jester is a young adult, about 1-2 years old. He is house trained and crate trained, as well as leash trained. He weighs about 35lbs. We would prefer Jester go to an adopter who is located here in Arkansas, or someone who would be willing to drive here to get him. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 10/27/23 Torque is about a year old and weighs roughly 50 lbs. He is very much still a puppy in spirit. He loves all people but might be too much for very little ones, just because he doesn't know his size. He is a GREAT dog! He loves other dogs and would probably do best in a home with other dogs, but could adjust to being an only dog in the right home, with plenty of exercise. He would not be a candidate for a home with cats. Torque is heartworm negative, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Poppy Poppy is a joy to be around! Her happy, bouncy personality and precious expression makes her a bright spot in my day. She loves being held and played with, and gives twice the affection back. Very sweet natured, she has mastered the doggy door and pads, so house training is going great. She is very well socialized with dogs of all sizes, cats, loves children and adults. She easily crates and sleeps all night long. Fully vetted for her age, microchipped and spayed she is ready to find her new lucky family. Story
CHARLESTON IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN. CHARLESTON WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE HE IS ADOPTED!    This hunk is Charleston. He is a four year old Bulldog mix. He is the sweetest fun loving goofball. He is a big boy who loves attention. He wants you to pet him, and he wants to lean into you with his whole body. He does not meet a stranger in a person or dog. He loves playing in the backyard with his toys, and then lounging on the porch sunbathing. He gets excited to go anywhere. He will run to the door and wait for you to let him out- then he jumps right in the car. This adorable boy has the most stunning eyes. We believe Charleston has some hearing loss. He seems to hear some pitches, but either doesn’t hear the others or ignores them. He does good walking on a leash, is kennel trained, and house trained. He loves greatly- he will become your shadow. If he wants your attention he will whine/talk to you to let you know. Charleston is a big boy with still a lot of puppy energy so a home with older children would be best. This guy is amazing, and deserves the perfect forever home! He is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped.  His adoption fee of $500 includes the transport to PA.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Charleston up north to his new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at:   newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com You can apply to adopt Charleston  here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 3, 2023, 6:15 pm

Story
Joan of Barc was dumped on the side of the road in Alabama nearly dead. The vet said she was almost bred to death. She had heart-worms and various other injuries, but she's now HW free, spayed, and healthy! Because of her questionable former life she does not do well with cats, and is currently in training and getting better with dogs each time. She doesn’t know how to interact with them and gets over-excited and makes them uncomfortable. She LOVES humans, big and small. She's been around children and is amazing with all ages. Older kids would be better because she is strong and sometimes forgets her strength. She is house trained and crate trained; and along with her training on how to interact with other dogs, she is learning leash walking and other basic commands. She is very food motivated and extremely smart, picking up new training in no time. She also redirects from stressful situations very easily as long as you have a treat. :) She has an average amount of energy but her favorite pastime is chewing on water bottles and watching TV. She is a very gentle soul and the bestest girl. She was abused in her previous life and deserves to live in luxury the for the rest of it. She needs someone looking for a companion, but it doesn't matter what kind - family, adventure, couch potato- she can do it all. She just enjoys life now that it's not at the end of a chain. She's the bestest, sweetest doll baby and all she needs is a chance. Things she excels at: 🐶 Napping 🐶Snuggling 🐶 Helping with household chores 🐶 Zoomies 🐶Snacking Watch our Facebook video here If Joan would be the perfect addition to your family, please apply💜! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adoption-application PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT NORTH TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*Lewistown, PA* Deitz is an Old American bulldog mix who is true to his breed. He was born in 2013. When he is not playing hard, he just wants to cuddle and warning... he thinks he is a lap dog. He enjoys chewing on bones, deer antlers, and playing with squeaky toys. A fenced yard would be ideal for his energy. If no fence, daily exercise would be a must for him. He rides great in the car and would be a great dog for hikes and long walks. Don't let his age full you.. this boy still has lots of energy and love to share. He would do best in a calmer home without a lot of people in and out. He does good with medium to large dogs, small dogs we would not recommend. He is not good with cats. Older/considerate kids would be best for him to play with since he is a solid boy. He seems to do best with women and is slow to warm up to men, but once he trusts you, you’re golden. He came to ODAAT after his human Mom passed away in their home. Deitz stayed by her side for days until they were found by family and sadly the family was unable to keep him. Understandably so, he will be protective of your family. He would never want to lose you. When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. All applications are ran prior to choosing an adopter.. This process takes time and we do not adopt out on a "first come first served" basis. PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Meet Wilson! He is a 2 year old, purebred Boxer looking for his forever home. Here’s what his foster says-He is crate trained, house trained, walks great on a leash, and loves all people and dogs. He has been living with a female 30 lb terrier and a female Lab. He learned how to use the doggie door the first day and he loves it! He has not been interested in swimming in the pool. He has learned how to get over my five foot farm style fence to visit his friend, the male Labradoodle next door, but probably couldn’t get over a privacy fence. He is not food aggressive at all and he and my Lab trade bones with each other. He is very curious about cats and he licked the pony on the nose when he met him through the fence.  He is not terribly active (even before his heart worm treatment) and he doesn’t bark a lot.  He loves to snuggle up on the couch and just be near me wherever I go.  He rides well in the car, but wants to help me drive if not buckled in the back seat.  He sleeps in his crate at night, and is crated during the day if I’m gone.  He jumps up gently to give kisses, but we are working on “off”.  His only negative is that he is a very messy drinker.  He doesn’t drool at all, but gets water all around the bowl when he drinks.  His tongue seems extra long and even sticks out a little when he sleeps.  He is about 65 pounds and sleeps in a size large wire crate. Wilson was heartworm positive on intake but has been treated. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.  Located in Arkansas, but transport is available.
