You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Chance came to us after sitting/laying on a concrete kennel floor with a "breeder" who didn't know what to do with a puppy that couldn't use his back legs :(  We were contacted and although we typically do not take large dogs we felt the need to help. We had him with 2 different vets both saying he would never walk again, even our medical director did not hold out any hope.  We just knew we had to try so the Director started researching and working on his back legs and then we started using a cold laser wand and a wheel chair and within months Chance went from the chair to what we called "wonky walking" and now he races around the field!!! Chance is a typical bulldog doing what he wants and he is big so making him do anything is definitely not easy LOL.  He has learned the hand signal for sit and he will do it on command because he knows he gets a treat :) He is good with most dogs but we have found he is not fond of shihtzu's.  At the ranch he lives with cats coming in and out and has no interest in them.  Now if they gave him a hard time I'm pretty sure it would be game on! Chance may as he gets old need to revert back to a cart so we are looking for a home with either no stairs or only 1 or 2.   I do not suggest Chance for small children he is WAY to rambuncious and for some reason very fixated on them. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. Yoyoma's adoption fee has been fully covered by a generous supporter, and OPH is including six virtual training sessions with a certified trainer during the first 60 days to help set you both up for success! Yoyoma is 9 years old and has been in foster care for awhile, because she wants to be your one and only loyal companion. She would like to take naps and watch TV with you. When it's time to exercise, playing ball is the activity of choice in a fenced yard, the higher the better. She'd like to take walks on a leash, but doesn't mind staying close to home. Sniffing to discover new smells rather than long walks is just fine with her. She would rather be with you than in large crowds as she is cautious with strangers, but once she gets to know them in familiar surroundings, she is ready for belly rubs. She has played with the fosters larger dogs but prefers to be the only dog in your family. The fosters grandchildren have played ball with her and she likes how they tell her to sit first then to retrieve. Rules and boundaries help her to feel comfortable. She has been waiting for awhile in rescue but only because she is waiting for the right family. If you think you are the right one for her please fill out an application. Athletic, Not Hyper but can be Energetic * Knows some obedience * Can walk on on loose leash * Goes in crate on command * Potty trained (perk! will go in bad weather) * She is Cautious with strangers and needs slow introductions * Needs an experienced dog handler * Muzzle trained, wears muzzle during vetting for prevention * Prefer to be the only dog And guess what, I am SO special that I am eligible for an extended trial adoption. She is an Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog. A total love bug. Very affectionate, loves giving kisses. She does have a lot of energy and a high prey drive and has chased our barn cats and chickens. Training is a must. She will likely be around 60 lbs as an adult. Her sister is also available. Her parents are couch potatoes but do require a good bit of exercise (they are registered and photos of them are included). She loves kids and would great for a family who enjoy the outdoors.

She is an Alapaha Blueblood Bulldog. Parents are registered. Photos of parents included. She has a sister also looking for a home. She is very sweet but she is full of energy and has chased our barn cats and chickens. Training is a must. She will be large. Approx 70 lbs as an adult. Her parents are couch potatoes but do require regular exercise. The breed has a tendency to be "velcro" dogs. She will be some lucky person's BFF.

Rocko is a good dog he is a year and a half old. He has a lot of energy and needs room to run. He also need someone to give him attention. Not.looking for a fee.
