Story
Meet Willow: Willow is about an 18 month old (as of May 2026) american bulldog mix that weighs about 50 pounds. Willow was due to be euthanized the day we pulled her from a high kill shelter in AR. They had picked her up as a stray and since she wasn’t getting any interest, they were ready to make more room in the shelter for others. We are so thankful we got there in time to save this amazingly sweet girl! Willow is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Willow is one of the sweetest girls our experienced rescuer says she has ever met! Willow is very gentle, friendly and sweet. Willow is great with people and kids, as well as with both dogs and cats. Willow walks well on a leash and is both crate and house trained. Willow is going to make an amazing family pet. We would love for Willow to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely. Willow is up to date on her shots and spayed. If you are interested in adding this sweetheart into your life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. CURRENT LOCATION: Mississippi, awaiting transport to PA ##2739996##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Chance came to us after sitting/laying on a concrete kennel floor with a "breeder" who didn't know what to do with a puppy that couldn't use his back legs :(  We were contacted and although we typically do not take large dogs we felt the need to help. We had him with 2 different vets both saying he would never walk again, even our medical director did not hold out any hope.  We just knew we had to try so the Director started researching and working on his back legs and then we started using a cold laser wand and a wheel chair and within months Chance went from the chair to what we called "wonky walking" and now he races around the field!!! Chance is a typical bulldog doing what he wants and he is big so making him do anything is definitely not easy LOL.  He has learned the hand signal for sit and he will do it on command because he knows he gets a treat :) He is good with most dogs but we have found he is not fond of shihtzu's.  At the ranch he lives with cats coming in and out and has no interest in them.  Now if they gave him a hard time I'm pretty sure it would be game on! Chance may as he gets old need to revert back to a cart so we are looking for a home with either no stairs or only 1 or 2.   I do not suggest Chance for small children he is WAY to rambuncious and for some reason very fixated on them. If you have the right setup for a dog like Chance please fill out an applicationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Adoption Fee Covered + Free Training! Great news! Yoyoma's adoption fee has been fully covered by a generous supporter, and OPH is including six virtual training sessions with a certified trainer during the first 60 days to help set you both up for success! Yoyoma is 9 years old and has been in foster care for awhile, because she wants to be your one and only loyal companion. She would like to take naps and watch TV with you. When it's time to exercise, playing ball is the activity of choice in a fenced yard, the higher the better. She'd like to take walks on a leash, but doesn't mind staying close to home. Sniffing to discover new smells rather than long walks is just fine with her. She would rather be with you than in large crowds as she is cautious with strangers, but once she gets to know them in familiar surroundings, she is ready for belly rubs. She has played with the fosters larger dogs but prefers to be the only dog in your family. The fosters grandchildren have played ball with her and she likes how they tell her to sit first then to retrieve. Rules and boundaries help her to feel comfortable. She has been waiting for awhile in rescue but only because she is waiting for the right family. If you think you are the right one for her please fill out an application. Athletic, Not Hyper but can be Energetic * Knows some obedience * Can walk on on loose leash * Goes in crate on command * Potty trained (perk! will go in bad weather) * She is Cautious with strangers and needs slow introductions * Needs an experienced dog handler * Muzzle trained, wears muzzle during vetting for prevention * Prefer to be the only dog And guess what, I am SO special that I am eligible for an extended trial adoption. You check me out and I check you out. If that all sounds great to you, let's meet. Please apply to adopt me today.

Rainy is a spunky girl waiting for her forever home. She really is a puppy at heart despite her size. Since being in foster care she has learned to sit and has taken to living the dog life. Rainy is house trained and does great in her crate if unattended. She is a cuddle bug through and through, most of which is on your lap - this is a non-negotiable for her. She loves hiking and running outside however her favorite spot is next to you. Rainy has her daily zooms, normally right before and after eating, each meal. Rainy melts your heart with her tail wag at first sight. Come meet Rainy today!

Story
Meet Alvin: Alvin is a 10 week old (as of May 21, 2026) boxer / hound mix (best guess) that weighs about 12 pounds. This litter of cuties (Zoc, Rix, Tony, Scarlett, Gus, Alvin and Vixen) was rescued with their mom (Raya) after they were surrendered to a high kill shelter. We are thankful that we have been able to have them grow up in foster care as opposed to the loud shelter life. Alvin is being fostered in the south and would love to catch the next freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families! Alvin, and this full litter, is a group of playful, sweet and very cuddly puppies! Alvin has been good with both other dogs and cats. Alvin loves people! Alvin is crate trained. As a puppy, Alvin will need some patience while he works on his house training. We would love for Alvin to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely. Alvin is up to date on his puppy shots and will need to be neutered when age appropriate.
