Story
Daisy is young and built for Fun! From the moment I met her I could see she is just pure joy. Her face genuinely radiates welcoming fun and once you get to know her you understand she is bouncy, bright, and brimming with personality! On top of that, she is smart, eager to learn, and perfectly people friendly. This pup has a YouTube video waiting for you - https://youtu.be/_MHTtd1BBqg highly recommend watching it, smiling a little, and then coming back here to keep reading. This playful, goofy gal is winding down her puppy days at an estimated 11 months old. We believe she may be pittie mix, maybe some whippet in there but honestly age and breed are not details we can guarantee given she is a rescue. Her foster rates her attention and eagerness at a solid 9/10 - playful, goofy, and always ready for the next thing. She knows her basic commands, loves treats, and is obsessed with chew toys (ropes and silicone chews are top-tier in her book). She is both house and crate trained and is crated while her people are away but has free range of the house when at home as a family. Her foster shared that she is great in the car and hops right in, all on her own and settles in nicely for the ride. She’s lived peacefully with cats and kittens and shows playful, curious interest. For some cats her approach could be considered too playful so as an adopter you know your cat best and know if Daisy is the kind of dog they will enjoy. Our house cat is very dog-savvy and happily will hold his own in a play sesh with a dog and we know the duo would work well together in a home BUT not all cats look at a dog as a potential playmate so please be in touch if you have any questions regarding how this looks in the home, the foster is more than happy to discuss it in more detail. Daisy doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, she just wants to interact, play, and occasionally give enthusiastic kisses. She’s also been around other dogs and does well, especially with dogs who enjoy play but know when to take breaks. A medium-energy dog who can match her vibe without playing nonstop would be an ideal companion and would help keep her from seeking out her feline friends for play. With people, Daisy is friendly and so happy. She can jump when greeting ( she thinks she is just giving you an awesome high 5) and because of her age she is still working on mastering all her best manners, which is why we’re recommending an active, engaged adopter who’s ready to continue her training and help her channel all that happy energy. She’s lived with kids ages 5 and 8 and adores them, though her enthusiasm can be a bit much for much littler ones at times. Older kids or kids comfortable with bouncy dogs would be a great match. Daisy is still learning because she is still growing. Her foster praises her affectionate, snuggly, silly, and loyal nature. She also shared that Daisy has no issues with food or toys, shares easily and is a great playmate. She has long legs and on one occassion did sneak a little self-service snack from the counter- not out of malice, just because no one’s told her yet that food on the counter was not meant for self-serve-doggie-snacks. Daisy is the kind of dog who will thrive with structure, adventure, and love. Give her hikes, runs, backyard fun, and a family ready to laugh and grow alongside her, and she is no doubt going to be an incredible companion. If you’re looking for the perfect adventure buddy and you’re ready for a life where your hiking boots are always ready for a little more dirt on them, a heart full of joy, and a brindle shadow who thinks you are the world and the big, wide world is the best playground - Daisy is ready! Story
If you are ready to have a companion that gets so excited when you walk in the door that she simply can’t stand it, you just have to meet Tootsie. When her people get home, she instantly turns into the happiest wiggle monster. She has such a big heart and that is our favorite thing about her! She makes everyone feel so special with her ecstatic welcome! Her color, her fur, the way she plays… she simply is The Happiest-Hippo. Take a look at her in action, mid-way through this video you will get to see her get a burst of the cutest zoomies! https://youtu.be/yW3WylrDW-U?si=BzmPhHcCT9neDh_9 I like to call her Toots, like “how you doin’ Toots?” She’s a dame, it feels respectful somehow and because we estimate her to be about 7 years old, she deserves the respect. She is likely a pittie/staffie mix of some sort but the truth is, both her age and breed are not something we can guarantee given she is a rescue. If she could, I am positive she would tell you she isn’t a day older than 3, followed by a perfect wink. Tootsie weighs 71 lbs, fully-grown so she is a large dog, a favorite for the best snuggles. What I love about her is that she has mature dog presence with the get-up-and-go of a 2 year old dog. It doesn’t take much for her to be ready to lay around either, so if you are looking for a house dog more than a fitness buddy, this is your girl! When it comes to going on adventures or outings, all you gotta do is say the word, grab the leash, and Toots is at the door with her social butterfly adventure cap on. She also loves to go on car rides and has earned the distinguished title of "perfect passenger princess." Toots likes riding with her head out the window for maximum sniffing and feeling that fresh air hit her cute squishy face. She really loves going on leisurely walks at the park and enjoys every second of it. She's never in a rush to get back home or go to the next place. She does great walking past kids, joggers, other dogs, and even the splash pad with all the action going on there with ease. Toots treats her walks like she's on her own personal sniffari LOL. She loves getting compliments from all of the from people at the park, soaking up all of the attention of course. Need to stop by your local coffee shop or even dog friendly thrift store to browse around, she's a dream even in places like that and is deemed a polite shopper. Toots also enjoys going to pet stores too and especially if you let her go where all the fish are so she can sit and watch them It's pretty cute the way she gets so mesmerized by the way the swim around. Be prepared for all of the workers to be fawning over her, giving her kisses and hugs. Oh, and treats of course. She also really likes watching the guinea pigs too! LOL she's just a curious happy hippo. After a full day (or even half day) of adventures, Toots is going to be soooo sleepy. She'll give you night night kisses, and then sprawl out in the back seat for her nap. Can you picture life with tootsie yet? Because I can— and it seems fabulous. My heart can’t take it!! Toots has a few non-negotiables she is looking for in forever home- booty scratches and treats. This is the fast-track to her heart. Offer her a treat and she will show off her perfect sit, followed by a gentle shake. Such a lady. But if you hold a treat too long after she knows she is due one you will hear her voice. She isn’t loud, just chatty, a little grumbly rumble mixed with a small bark. Truth is she uses that voice to make a connection with her people, and we love her little woowoos. When it comes to defining her ideal home, this voice of hers means she needs a house. Apartment life with its shared walls is no place for a girl like Toots. Plus, she needs a little yard for those zoomie sessions. Toots is great with kids, unbothered by the noise and bounciness of a 4 year old. She was calm, polite and gave him gentle kisses…then sneakily and so cutely, walked off with a stuffie toy he had. She loves toys as much as little kids do, and we all know littles leave a trail of toys around the house, so a home with older kids would be best for her. No trail of toys to sneak off with and no tears from a mistaken toy moment. Perfect! Tootsie is very people friendly and will pull a bit on-leash if she sees someone she loves. Other than that, this girl has some good leash manners, she’s just full of love! When introduced to a new dog on leash she was polite and indifferent. Once she realized she was meeting a new playmate it was a different story- she got her doggie greeting sniffs out of the way and immediately wanted to play. She showed off for him a bit with an amazing zoom session and then they were off to play. Her play style is what we call rough and rowdy, it is all in good fun but is a detail that is important when matching her with a doggie companion. Not all dogs enjoy that style of play and although she enjoys a round of chase, her ideal match would be a medium energy, playful male, who loves physical play and also appreciates those calmer moments as well. Toots would also be just as happy being the center of your world too and does not need another dog in the home to keep her company or help her feel comfortable to fully be her goofy loving self. She is naturally a love bug and a social butterfly. No kitties for Tootsie, she is a little too interested in them. If a mature happy-hippo of your own is what you are looking for, this is your girl! Big love and big snuggles guaranteed! Apply today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/673943173a4b7daee0088ba5 Questions? Story
Zelda is such a cutie girl! Yes, she really does look like she has on a little tuxedo, or maybe some little white socks! This girl is so sweet and friendly. She loves all people, she did well with a cat, and she enjoyed playing ball in the yard with other pups. Ball is her FAVORITE game! She loves to play fetch, but she’s still learning how to bring it back to you. She carries the ball around like a little baby with a pacifier— it’s just too cute to handle! Are you ready to meet your new partner in crime? Watch her here: https://youtu.be/1sj9S5ohoQU?si=VvB8F0YViLZp-hVA Zelda is still living her best care free puppy life, and will need a family with time to teach her new tricks! Right now in her foster home with her sister, she is currently working on her basic commands. Zelda is already so smart, we know that training will be fun for her (and you!) Zelda comes from a part of the U.S. where puppies are regularly euthanized, so adopting this puppy will help us save another in her place. Zelda is a little slow to open up to doggy friends initially, but trust me, it doesnt take her very long! She will be showing you her goofy side quickly. Especially if you have a fun bouncy tennis ball! Zelda simply just doesnt like to be rushed when meeting doggies she doesnt know, and we cant blame her! You can tell that she wanted to play with the other dogs, but she just wasnt sure how to yet. One thing about Zelda is that she loves toys! Sometimes we'll even catch her stealing a toy from other dogs. If Zelda is to be adopted out with other dogs, it would be best for her to be adopted out with another dog that doesn't really care much for toys-- and for toy time to be supervised so everyone can enjoy the toys. We think Zelda would definitely benefit from having a doggy sibling in the home to help her build some confidence. Zelda got to meet a kitty here at the rescue, and she did wondefully! She didnt really care for him at all, and if you have kitties at home, you know thats what we want! Although we have not seen Zelda with kids yet, with her size and calm energy, we think Zelda would enjoy the company of older kids. We are happy to test her with anything you may need. Apply for Zelda here: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67fe7288d635a35951096287 Questions? **Fostered in Kirkland, WA and ready for meet and greets** Meet Otto — the compact gentleman with a heart full of sunshine! Estimated to be around 6 years old, Otto is a black-and-white pittie/staffy mix who’s the perfect blend of easygoing, joyful, and downright lovable. At just 52 lbs, he’s a great medium-sized companion who fits perfectly into almost any home. Otto is a dream on leash and loves his walks—being outside is his happy place. He’s a curious boy who enjoys watching whatever his human is up to, always with that soft, thoughtful look on his face. Training time? That’s his moment to shine. Otto lights up when asked to show what he knows or learn something new, offers impressive focus, and takes his treats with the gentlest little nibble. Looking for a work-from-home buddy? Otto has you covered. He’s an excellent mix of independence and companionship—able to entertain himself when you’re busy and ready to lend an oversized ear when you need a break. He’s great with other dogs, especially calm personalities like his own. He’d love a chill companion to sunbathe or snooze beside, but he’s just as content soaking up life as an only dog. No cats for this guy, though. Otto has been kid-tested and passed with flying colors. Whether it’s kids stomping around pretending to be dinosaurs or a baby fussing nearby, he stays gentle, relaxed, and unbothered. His ideal home would have a yard where he can stretch his legs or settle in for his favorite activity—sunbathing. And if you find him rolled onto his back with a goofy grin… that’s your cue. Belly rub required. Otto’s foster family has adored spoiling him, and he’s settled in beautifully. Now he’s ready to bring that same gentle joy, curiosity, and companionship to his forever home. Otto is ready to meet his person—could it be you? Message kathleen@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions! For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non-profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. Story
Beso is the kind of dog who melts into your life as if she’s always been there. Her name means “kiss” in Spanish, and it fits her perfectly, because once she decides you’re her person, she’ll be glued to your side, soaking up every snuggle and belly rub you’ll give her. We believe Beso is a pittie mix of some sort around 2 years old and weighs approximately 56 pounds. She has this gorgeous chocolate coat that actually gets lighter in the winter! Due to her being a rescue, age and breed are our best guesses and cannot be guaranteed. Check out Beso here: https://youtu.be/0jGl4oNCans Right now, she’s living with ten other dogs in her foster home, and she’s shown she can thrive in a lively, social setting. She adores playing outside with her doggy friends, especially the puppies. Wrestling, playing tag, and trading bones in a lighthearted game of “keep away.” She’s also cat-tolerant; when she met Biggy the house cat, she was interested but respectful, happy to coexist without fuss. Beso has a wonderfully adaptable personality once she has settled in with her people. She can keep pace with an active household, joining you on outings, exploring new places, and enjoying car rides with her nose pressed to the breeze. But she’s just as content curling up for a lazy afternoon on the couch, enjoying quiet company. Her zoomies are a sight to behold, she tucks her back legs so far under herself it almost looks like she’s running only on her front paws, bounding around the yard in pure joy! We believe that she would do well in a home or an active apartment lifestyle. She has her own quirky hobbies too. Beso loves carrying around small to medium stuffed animals, especially ones that happen to match her coloring. She proudly takes them outside with her, although she hasn’t quite mastered bringing them back in (yet). Her favorite toy of the moment is a Kong Snuzzle reindeer, a treasure so beloved her foster has been trying to find more! Beso’s affection for people shines through in the sweetest ways. We believe she will be great with dog-savvy kids. If there is a certain age you are curious about how she behaves around, let us know and we would be happy to find out! She might start off slightly reserved with new faces, but she’s friendly from the start and warms up quickly. She’s shown this to be true at her foster home, where her cautious side fades and her love of companionship takes over. Whether she’s chasing around the yard, splashing in the baby pool, playing tag, or curling into your side for an evening snuggle, Beso’s joy is contagious. She’s looking for a home where she can be part of the family, whether that’s an active crew or a more laid-back lifestyle, with room to run or regular outings to keep her happy. Above all, she’s ready to bring her playful spirit, her sweet nature, and her big, loyal heart to someone lucky enough to call her their own. Does Beso sound like your girl?
