Story
Adoption Fee: $550 Meet Wendy, a female Pit Bull Terrier with a personality as sweet as her face! Wendy, like her siblings, was orphaned at birth, but she's been hand-raised by a wonderful foster family who has showered her with love from day one. As a result, Wendy is potty trained, knows some basic commands, and patiently waits for her food like the polite little lady she is. Wendy is playful, affectionate, and has the kind of loving nature that will melt your heart. She's ready to find a forever home where she can share her joy and snuggles with her new family. If you're looking for a loyal, well-behaved pup who's been raised with care, Wendy is the perfect match! Ready to make Wendy part of your family? She's waiting to meet you! ** The adoption fee is a tax-deductible contribution to our 501c3 rescue. This fee covers vaccines, deworming, microchipping, and spaying/neutering. Meet and greets will only be arranged after we receive a completed and signed application. Please note that we do not follow a first-come, first-served policy. Instead, we thoroughly evaluate each application to ensure the best possible fit for the pet, considering breed characteristics and the lifestyle of the potential adopter. Breed descriptions are our best estimates since we do not know the lineage of both parents. At One Mutt at a Time, we use our experience and consult with our vet to make educated guesses about possible breed mixes. However, we cannot guarantee specific breed combinations unless we have information on both parents. This is a mixed breed dog of unknown origin unless stated otherwise.

Story
Churro is a spunky puppy looking for his forever home. Churro is very playful and would do well with another dog that he can tug on toys with and mouth play. He has been raised around other dogs, kids, and cats (although not his favorite). He loves to spend time outdoors taking in the sun, but also laying with his human. Churro has been crate trained to sleep in the crate overnight and for short periods throughout the day. Since Churro is a puppy, crate training was beneficial to minimize possible accidents and out of boredom, chewing on stuff he shouldn't. If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Churro, please fill out the adoption application and a super cool person from the rescue will contact you to schedule the meet and greet. ** The adoption fee is a tax-deductible contribution to our 501c3 rescue. Story
Meet Opal, a young female Boxer with a heart as big as her journey! Opal's story began on the streets of Tijuana, where a heartbreaking picture of her Emaciated and covered in ticks found its way to us. Homeless and struggling, we knew we had to bring her to safety. Once here, we immediately took her to the vet for bloodwork and a 4DX test to check for any tick-borne diseases. Everything came back negative, and her blood work is perfectly normal! We were thrilled! Fast forward a couple months, Opal was on medical status as we worked on slowly gaining weight and building her strength. During her Spay appt, she almost died on the table and it was found that she did in fact contract 2 Tickborne Diseases! She had contracted Erlichia and Anaplasmosis. We cured the tickborne diseases and her blood platelets were damaged. So she has been battling Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia, going every two weeks for routine blood draws and medicine. During the vet visits, we also discovered that Opal is deaf, but that doesn't stop her from being the sweetest, most affectionate dog. She adores being with her humans and thinks she's a lap dog-she'll cuddle up with you any chance she gets! Opal is looking for a loving home where her new family will enjoy her goofy loving personality! If you're ready to be part of Opal's journey and give her the second chance she deserves, please complete our adoption application, and we'll be in touch soon. Let's give this sweet girl the happy ending she's been waiting for!
