Meet Lola - She Waited Patiently. Now She’s Ready to Play For Keeps. Lola is estimated to be around 9 years old, but no one told her that. This beautiful girl is still spry, playful, and full of personality. Sadly, she ended up at the shelter and waited… and waited… and no one came for her. Until we did. The moment we met Lola, we knew she deserved cozy dog beds, warm snuggles, and a soft place to land. Now in a loving foster home, Lola is absolutely blossoming. She is playful and fun, especially when toys are involved. Tug-of-war is her jam—but fair warning: Lola is a woman of integrity. If you “let” her win, she will politely (and repeatedly) demand a do-over until victory is earned honestly. She also plays fetch and is delighted to show off her skills. Lola: * Loves people and adores kids * Gets along well with other dogs * Is learning to coexist with cats and making great progress * Is crate trained with excellent house manners * Rides great in the car and does wonderfully on outings * Knows how to sit and shake (and steal hearts effortlessly) She’s a pittie/basenji mix (our best guess), about 38 pounds, and we’re working on helping her fill out a bit. She’s truly gorgeous inside and out. Lola does have some very common environmental allergies, which may require simple ongoing care—likely just a daily pill. Nothing complicated, nothing scary, and a very small price to pay for the kind of love this girl gives back tenfold. Lola is the kind of dog who will curl up next to you at night, proudly play tug the right way during the day, and make your life warmer just by being in it. She waited long enough. We are networking Zoe for a good friend. Zoe’s story began behind a liquor store, where she had been abandoned, tied up in an alley with nothing but her bed. Left alone and confused, she eventually chewed through the leash and wandered through an alley and a nearby parking lot until she found her way to a local bar. There, the patrons offered her scraps, but no one could give her a home. 767306723.jpg123_1.jpg123_1 (1).jpg Luckily, our friend saved Zoe. After just a couple of days, she began jumping into the car on her own and walking happily on a leash after being hesitant about these new experiences. She is a sweet girl, eager to understand her new environment. She has puppy energy, but she is still relatively mellow. Zoe is around two years old. She was vetted during this time and gradually introduced to the routines of life with a guardian. She learned to ride in a car, sleep indoors, get baths, and go on regular walks. Always with a sweet temperament. She also walked alongside my dogs with a separate handler, not too interested in interacting with the other dogs, just doing her own thing at her own pace. Now, Zoe is fully vaccinated, spayed, and ready for a family. She’s been in boarding for the past two months, and her personality has really started to shine. Here’s how the staff describe her: “Zoe has a lot of personality. She loves to run around and zoom in the yard. She lets out little inquisitive, playful barks when she gets jealous of other dogs doing something she’s not. She keeps herself entertained in her outdoor kennel, happily playing with her bone and jolly ball. She’s full of puppy energy. She’s just begun settling into her indoor kennel. She no longer whines, howls, or barks much when she goes inside.” Now that Zoe has healed from her spay surgery, her socialization is the next step. All signs point to her being a happy, mild mannered, adorable gal. Zuko is 13 months old and is the sweetest and most affectionate boy. He is also quite the couch potato! He loves to hang out on the couch and would snuggle with his humans all day if he could. He comes from a home with a very active toddler and has shown absolutely no signs of aggression towards her, but instead has shown nothing but patience and gentleness, even when she’s being a little bit rough with him. Zuko is crate trained and housebroken, and is very treat motivated! He loves learning new tricks and will do anything for a yummy snack. Zuko would do best as an only pet as he does have a history of being reactive towards other dogs. Prior to rescuing him from our local animal shelter, we already had 2 resident senior dogs and shortly after bringing him home, we discovered that he is reactive towards their anxiety and barking. He may do okay in another home with a larger dog that is calm and submissive, as he does have a dominant personality.

Marci was originally a stray found and taken to the humane society. I was able to adopt her when she was about 4 months old. Marci is now just over a year old, D.O.B. October 28, 2025. She's truly a great, energetic, and loving dog who needs a home bigger to match her energy. She loves to go on walks, play around, cuddle, and is very curious. My place is a bit too small for her with my family and time restraints do not allow me to provide what I know she truly needs. I have a pending move to where I won't be able to take her with me, and would rather her be with a loving family instead of in a cage back at the humane society.

Bruce was born 2/1/2023; his dad is a boxer, and his mom is a cane corso. With a huge change in financial and home circumstances, we are unable to take Bruce with us. He is a good boy, and has been wonderful with our kid since she was 2. He is crate trained, and never had an issue with jumping on people. It is our biggest wish this holiday season that he goes to a loving home. No adoption fee is being asked; please just use whatever money you were supposed to use for a pet, for whatever you need for Bruce -updated shots, toys, bed etc.
