Story
Senior Alert!! Sherman is 11.5 yrs old (DOB 08.30.12). He’s the absolute best boy with other dogs of all sizes. He does prefer a home without any cats. Sherman would do well in a home with older children. He is an absolute love, who is happy cuddling up on the couch with his humans and snuggling, but despite his age he also LOVES his daily walks. Sherman is now almost completely deaf, and has trouble seeing in the dark because of changes in his eyes due to age. But, he’s still extremely strong when on walks or even playing. He knows basic obedience commands and is crate trained, house trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He would do best in a home with somebody who is home almost always as he does have some separation anxiety. Sherman is not a SacRDR rescue dog. He is one of our foster's rehoming projects. She is a Vet Tech and is in the process of starting her own rescue. We fully back her and her dogs. We have collaborated on rehoming several dogs with her and the dogs are stable grounded animals. If you are interested in Sherman we will refer you to our foster. An application and home inspection will be required. Interested in meeting Sherman? Story
Meet Dutton! Sweet Dutton is looking for his forever home! He was pulled from the Stockton Shelter at approximately 4 months old after being found running stray with another puppy, and had a bit of a rough start after developing a vaccine reaction that resulted in temporary distemper symptoms. Luckily with time and care he recovered quickly, and has been fairly healthy ever since! Dutton loves his people. He lives with dogs his size of both sexes; when introduced properly he can be playful and he loves his canine foster siblings. Cats and small dogs are not a fit. Dutton is listed as 'Special Needs' due to allergies and anxiety. After all he's been through he's an extra sensitive soul, and is beginning a behavioral training course with a reputable trainer based out of the Sacramento area to work through those anxious tendencies and help him learn to feel safe and secure in new situations. He would do best with a foster or adopter who worked from home (or spends time at home frequently) as he is a bit of a velcro dog. The ideal foster or adopter for Dutton will be willing to participate in training with him - the costs of this upcoming course have been covered by the rescue and are included in his adoption fee. Allergy-wise, Dutton had a full allergen panel completed after experiencing a skin reaction, and is now known to be sensitive to peanuts, soy/legumes, and tumbleweeds (of all things!). He is currently undergoing an immunotherapy treatment to alleviate his reactions to these allergens, which we hope will lessen the need for regular allergy medications in the future. Story
Introducing Georgie!! We describe George as being the best of both worlds. A project dog with unlimited potential. He is not for everyone, but whoever makes a commitment to this boy will not be disappointed. He is loyal, potty trained, and one of the best snuggle monkeys we have ever met. He really does know how to snooze (as seen from the posted posted, lol). He is adorable as he can be and has absolutely zero stranger danger. He loves meeting new people! He loves squeaky toys, kongs, nylabones, and playing tug of war. He loves going for walks and would be a great hiking partner. We'd peg him as having medium energy, and is a blast to hang out with. He's treat motivated and super eager to please, which makes his training super easy!! George is young and needs a gentle guidance and direction to be the best boy he can be. He gets overstimulated by certain things and can sometimes get mouthy when he does. He needs an owner who recognizes his triggers and recognizes the need to manage him around those triggers. He had anxiety around being crated, but has made amazing progress. He now knows that the crate is his safe place, and can often be found snoozing away in his crate. Georgie does best on a chain leash, as he has been known to chew through any other kind. However, with training we have been able to nearly curb this behavior. He is doing extremely well in his foster home and would do best with an owner who is invested in continuing his training. Georgie is a great boy and whatever effort is put forth to helping him reach his full potential will be returned tenfold! Interested in meeting Georgie and giving him the life he deserves? Story
Meet Mallory! Mallory is the dog version of a sprite. She is always happy and excited about life! She will self pacify with her toys, she goes out on a skateboard run daily for 45 minutes (pulls the rider, foster's neighbor) and is very athletic. Mallory's play style is rough, so not all dogs appreciate her energy, but she does very well with like minded dogs. She is fine spending the day at home, excited to see you when you get home and just wants to sit on your lap (she does need to learn about personal space) and watch tv in the evenings. She is high energy when needed but is happy as long as she is with her person. Mallory is a Stanislaus Shelter Survivor. We made contact with her original owners and know a lot about her background. She was an adorable puppy. You can see the love in her eyes. Interested in meeting Mallory? Story
Meet Olive! PLEASE TAKE A CHANCE ON THIS GIRL!! So you want to rescue a dog?? Well Olive is the poster child (DOG) for a dog that finds itself in a rescue. She is not perfect but she has so much love to offer and with a little extra effort you will get the most love you have ever had from a dog. Olive was one of the first dogs we adopted out when we formed our rescue. She has been in a loving home since she was adopted (about 3 years) but she and the other resident dog just cannot get along. The family has tried and tried but the fights are just too stressful for the dogs and the family. They are devastated and have tried really hard to keep Olive. We all agree it is time to rehome her in an environment better suited for her. "Once a SacRDR dog, always a SacRDR dog", so we will need to find a loving new home for Miss Olive. Olive tends to be cautious. She needs time to warm up to new things, environments, and people. Hats and sunglasses are not her favorite thing. Her favorite thing is water – so much so that when she drinks she submerges her entire snout into the bowl. Olive is very food motivated and does well on a leash. She is a 45 pound snug bug when not in motion. Car rides aren’t her favorite due to motion sickness but that is a work in progress, and she’s improving with every outing! Olive would excel with a person or family who has the patience to help her build confidence and beat her fears, and is willing to invest the time and effort. She needs a family that will keep her as an only pet and shower her with love and attention, like the Princess she is and like she deserves. Olive can be walked on leash and is not reactive. So she can go places, she will just never be a social butterfly and will do best hanging at home with her family. She has been muzzle trained, too. Interested in meeting Olive? Story
Meet Yeti! Yeti does not have any special needs. He does not need an experienced adopter but we will need to teach the new handler how to introduce him to dogs. He is very energetic. The only concern with children is his exuberance. We are working on impulse control. He will just love on kids and jump on them right now. With cats he has a moderate interest in his fosters dog-savvy cats. He has done well with them, but will probably torture (because he won't leave them alone) a less confident cats. Cats should always have an escape route available from all dogs. . Yeti's puppy-like exuberance means not every dog is going to like him. He is learning manners from Banjo and the other resident dogs. He simply wants to play and once the other dogs realize that they are pretty tolerant and will play with him. He has even worn down Stella the senior to the point that she plays a little with him. Yeti is playful, friendly, affectionate, gentle, smart, funny, athletic and his favorite toys are rope toys, bones, squeaky stuffed toys. He LOVES tug of war. He is great at self-play. Give him a toy and he will entertain himself for a long while. Don't give him a toy and he will make something else into one. Training Needs: impulse control. Working on look, sit, stay, leave it. He has begun agility lessons and loves it - very enthusiastic jumper, jumps about 2x as high as needs to. Medical needs: just needs to gain a little weight and should be kept on flea preventive as he does have an allergy to fleas. Activity level: moderate - needs daily walks and play time Favorite activities: long walks, runs, training sessions, couch time, tug of war, keep away/chase games. Interested in meeting Yeti? Let us know! *Call or text 833-473-7364 or *Send an email to sacrdroperations@gmail.com (including your phone number) or *Message us on social media @resilientdogrescue or *Inquire using the Adopt a Pet system - be sure to include your phone number We look forward to hearing from you! Meet Bruce, a dog with a heart full of love. This friendly fellow has a personality that will brighten your day. He's independent, living life on his own terms, yet always ready for a friendly pat. His goofy antics are sure to bring a smile to your face, while his gentle demeanor makes him a calming presence. Despite his age, Bruce has a zest for life that is infectious. He is not just a pet, but a companion, a friend, and a source of unconditional love. Adopting Bruce means inviting joy, laughter, and a loyal friend into your life. Give Bruce the loving home he deserves. Bruce has a history of separation anxiety and will need some extra special care to feel comfortable in his new home. Because of this, we are recommending that any children in his new home are age 5 or older and are requiring that his new family commit to continuing his behavior medication while he adjusts to his new environment. He also prefers a single animal household so we are requiring that there be no other cats or dogs in his new home. Story
Charlotte is a sweet, gentle lady looking for her new home. She is house trained, enjoys short to medium neighborhood walks, car rides, and cuddling with you. She loves to be nearby her people and will give you gentle kisses when you pet her. She knows sit, down, and wait and has started to learn "shake", too. Charlotte's favorite things are belly rubs, playing ball, going for car rides, and going for walks. Be aware that she loves to deconstruct her stuffed toys, so keep stuffed animals out of her reach unless you want a stuffing surprise! She walks nicely on leash, very little pulling. Charlotte spent a weekend with two of our foster volunteers and they learned that she is a low to medium energy dog with polite indoor manners. They shared, "When you are in the kitchen, she is nearby - but not underfoot. When you are on the sofa, she will be by your side. If you are snacking on the sofa, a gentle "no" will keep her from sneaking a bite off your plate. She is a happy dog who will sleep curled up in bed with you." They created a video so you can learn more about her, so be sure to click on the video link or scan the QR code on her habitat at Placer SPCA. Charlotte can be fearful in new spaces, so we are recommending that any children in her new home are age 10 or older so they can understand her needs. She can be selective with other dogs, so we are requiring that a dog introduction be completed prior to adoption. She may not visit dog parks.***Check out my video by clicking "play" under my photos!***Adoption Price: $200Monthly Promotion Applies.

Story
Rock Star is a fun, playful, happy, tail-wagging, ball-chasing boy! He keeps his room clean at the shelter, and loves joining his volunteer friends for his twice-daily neighborhood walks. This sweet dog is always wagging his tail... when he walks, he wags his tail - when you pet him, he wags his tail - when you toss him a ball, he wags his tail - when you look deep into his eyes and tell him how handsome he is, he wags his tail. He is also happy to show you his "sit" and his "down". The volunteers love to toss balls for him to chase, and scratch him behind the ears while he chews on his toys. So grab a tennis ball and come on down to meet Rock Star. He doesn't have the best manners with other dogs, so we are requiring that he goes to a single dog home and he should not go to dog parks. ***Check out my video by clicking "play" under my photos!***Adoption fee: WaivedMonthly Promotion Applies.

Meet Princess, a young, vibrant soul whose energy is infectious. She's independent, always exploring her surroundings with a curious spirit. Despite her independent streak, she's incredibly loyal, always returning to the side of those she trusts. Her sweetness is undeniable, as she greets everyone with a wagging tail and a friendly nudge. Princess loves to play and would make a great companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. But don't let her energy fool you, she also enjoys a good cuddle session. Princess is a true friend, one who will stand by your side through thick and thin. She's waiting for a forever home where she can share her loyalty, energy, and sweetness. Adopt Princess, not just because she's a wonderful dog, but because she has so much love to give and deserves a family who will return that love in kind. Princess is still learning her manners and likes to jump up on her friends, so we recommend that any children in her new home are age 10 or older. She is selective of the other dogs that she shares her space with so we will be providing dog introductions to potential adopters who already have a canine companion at home.Adoption Price: $150Monthly Promotion Applies.
