Story
Meet Dillon. He's a sweet and energetic 3 year old pitbull mix at around 68 lbs. He absolutely loves love and is a huge cuddle bug. In the time we have had him, he has never known a stranger and wants scratches from every person he meets. He loves any chew toy he can get and will chase any ball you throw though he doesn't quite understand the concept of fetching yet. He is still working on his manners but is very quick to please. We think he would be happiest as a solo dog mainly because he wants all of your attention and love. For more information please message Tonya at 870-318-4161 or email t.maloy@yahoo.com Applications at helprescueark.org

WE URGENTLY NEED AN ADOPTER OR FOSTER HOME FOR KENAI!!! PLEASE REACH OUT IF YOU ARE INTEREST OR SHARE KENAI TO HELP US HELP HIM!!! HIS TIME IS LIMITED!!! Kenai is currently located at a nearby high-kill-shelter that is overpopulated, understaffed, and running out of resources, making his time very limited. Though he is listed as 2 years old, we believe he is likely younger. He's a big boy at 65pds but walks pretty well on a leash. He receives lots of attention, is stunningly beautiful, even more so in-person. His coat is like velvet, so soft and rich and his eyes, you just melt in them. He is a little jumpy but is smart and a quick learning. Oh and very food motivated:) Kenai is a novelty dog at the shelter, meaning they have him as part of the socialization team and in playgroups with other dogs where he does extremely well even taking cue which is so impressive especially given his likely age and the shelter environment. He's also such a good boy that volunteers are allowed to walk him and LOVE to do so. What we would all LOVE (Kenai too) would be help rescuing him and getting him into a true forever home of his own! Please help us do that, please reach out soon!

Woodstock   Male, Labrador retriever/pit bull terrier mix, Age 4 months (12/25/2023), weight 25 pounds   Say hello to Woodstock, a brave little survivor who, along with his brother Snoopy, was found making his way in the wild woods of Tuscaloosa, AL. Now safely snuggled up in a foster home, this sweet pup is on his way to finding a forever family to shower with love and loyalty.   Woodstock might be a bit shy and cautious when you first meet, but give him a little time, and he'll show you just how playful and loving he can be. He enjoys belly rubs, treats, and his collection of squeaky toys. He's also great at making friends with other dogs and loves to play, though his experience with cats remains a mystery. He's not too high-energy, but he loves a good play session followed by cuddle and nap time.  He's just a baby still.   Woodstock is looking for a forever home that will continue to nurture his confidence and gently introduce him to new experiences at his own pace. He's a sweet puppy who narrowly escaped a perilous fate and now dreams of a family to shower with his warm puppy love. Another dog to be his buddy and look up to and a fenced yard would be a perfect fit. If you’re ready to guide and love this tender-hearted boy, Woodstock can’t wait to meet you and start a new chapter filled with happiness and cuddles!   Good with other Dogs Cats unknown Kids unknown     * The adoption fee of $325 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, microchip and transport fee.   * The application is the first step in all inquiries and adoptions     Canine Compassion Fund - Online Adoption Application www.caninecompassionfund.org/Forms/OnlineAdoptionApplication   * Additional information is available on our site caninecompassionfund.org April 29, 2024, 4:17 pm

Story
Butterscotch was spotted at an abandoned house by Good Samaritan’ s who noticed she was way too thin. Apparently she was left and waiting for someone to come back for her which speaks volumes of her loyalty. Rescue was alerted and this girl is thriving in foster care. She radiates happiness that she is being petted, loved, kept warm and cozy and valued again. Butterscotch had eye removed and updated pics just added. She was unable to see out of and it has not affected her at all. She sees wonderful with one. We love to hear her talk when she rolls in the floor, her sounds are precious!! She loves to run the fence with the neighbor dog and another foster dog. She has been a house and outside dog in the past and loves coming inside. She will be a wonderful loyal companion. Butterscotch deserves a home where she will never be left again. All of her vetting needs are scheduled this week. Hopefully she will be ready for a new home very soon! Butterscotch is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. Story
If we had to compare our gal Pickles to the real thing, this lady would definitely fall into sweet gherkin territory, as there ain't nothing salty or sour about our "glorious" gal. At two years old and weighing in at a respectable but still portable 45lbs, Pickles found herself in quite the conundrum when she landed herself in TN shelter listed as "urgent", meaning her number was close to being pulled. When CPR heard about how amazing and sweet Miss Princess Pickles was, we knew we had to intervene, and so Pickle's rescue story began. Pickles is currently in foster with three other doggos, two older kids and is thriving. Her foster family describes her as a total gem... fully house trained, great with everyone she meets, loves walks and does well on leash, A++ rated co-pilot, and has picked up basic commands with ease. She's even mastered the subtle art of manipulating the two leggers and if she thinks she's in trouble, she's nailed the contrite look and even gives the famous pitty smile. And we promise burying your face in her soft downy fat head at the end of a trying day just can't be beat. Miss Princess Pickles is ready to dazzle humans of her own with her intelligence and affection, and we guarantee her forever family will wonder how they ever survived without their very best girl. Read on to learn more about bringing a Princess of your very own home for good. Pickles is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested positive for heartworms and will complete treatment under our care. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. Story
Leo is a 4-5 month old mixed breed puppy- what that mix is, we honestly are not sure, but it's definitely resulted in one cute pup! Leo is extremely sweet & snuggly, well socialized, and doing great in his foster home. He loves people, he's eager to please, and he is going to be a pleasure to continue training as he grows up. Leo is ready to bring the fun & snuggles to his new home! Leo Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. Story
Layla ðŸ\x90¾â\x9D¤ï¸\x8FThis lovely 4 year old lady has been here at our shelter since 2021(half of her life), and has been looking for a place to call home ever since. She doesn't understand why no one seems to want to provide her the home she deserves. Layla considers herself a lap dog that wants nothing but to be laying next to you and enjoying your attention or playing ball with you outside. Layla also LOVES water! Although, she loves her people so much more that she doesn't quite enjoy sharing and may not like the other furry pets that might try to take you away, so its important that this girl is your one and only. But with the amount of love she has to give, she's all you'll ever need! This girl is also so smart that she'll know you'll want her to sit even before you ask. With an extremely treat motivated pup like Layla, teaching her your routine will be easy-peezy.Layla is very particular about where she does her business and needs a little guidance on her potty training, and can also have some separation anxiety when her people aren't around, so it's important to find her a family that is willing to take the time and commitment to continue her training. She can have a lot of happy puppy energy and doesn't quite understand her size compared to smaller humans, therefore she would be best suited for older children. If you're interested in adopting or fostering this pretty lady, please fill out an application on our website. Layla is UTD on her shots, spayed, and microchipped.https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

Story
We would like you to meet Reign!  Reign is a stunning 3 year old English Bulldog that is looking for her forever home! Reign is a silly girl with a lot of personality once she trusts you, but she needs forever people that are willing to take it slow and let that trust build! Reign could live with another dog as long as her forever people take it slow and are willing to monitor closely for a bit. Reign will need to be fed separately from any dogs in the house. She would also be happy to be your one and only. Reign is good with kids but would do best with kids that are 10+ in the home. We are not sure how she is with cats, so a feline free home would be best. Reign is house broken and crate trained. Reign loves a good evening stroll and a stuffie to play with. She is happy to hang out and chill and be the best companion once she trusts you! Structure is important for all dogs, but Reign is very much the kind of bully girl that will think she runs the house if she is not kept in line with rules and boundaries. For this reason, we are looking for experienced owners for her and won’t be considering first time dog owners. Reign would love ongoing training as a way to form a bond with her humans. Previous experience with  brachycephalic dog breeds and their physical needs and limitations is also preferred.  Reign is a gem of a pup that is just looking for her people!  If you have room in your home and heart for Reign, please visit our website and fill out an application!
