Story
This is "Goldie". Goldie is about 90% an English Bulldog and the rest maybe American Bully. She has all the characters of an English Bulldog. Goldie is about 5 years and10 months old and weighs about 46 pounds. Goldie comes to us with a sad story. Goldie and 2 other dogs (not related) were left behind in an apartment because their owners had no means to take care of them any longer. Someone did take the dogs from the apartment but had no place of his own to go with them. So he was desperate to find a place for these dogs. This is where we came in. We took Goldie. The other 2 dogs were taken by another rescue. All 3 dogs were not starving and they were in good health. Goldie was a little confused at first, understandably so. She is doing much better. Goldie is a sweet dog and she even looks sweet! She is calm, she sits when told and she gives her paw when asked. Goldie is a very good dog. In fact, Goldie is a great dog! Goldie gets along with other dogs and it looks like she gets along with cats. In Goldie's new home, children must be 14 years old or older. You MUST own your own home. You MUST own your own condo. Absolutely no apartments. Goldie came to us already spayed. She went to our veterinarian and she got her shots and tested negative for heartworm. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference. We will not place any animal without a veterinarian reference. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Goldie is $100.00 if you are the perfect family with an excellent veterinarian reference. No credit cards. If you are interested in Goldie, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com. You can meet Goldie on Saturday at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00. Goldie will be looking for you! IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS !

Story
🌙💙Meet Teddy Oliver Moon (a.k.a. Ollie)!🌙💙 Teddy is a 90-pound bundle of love with the biggest head and the biggest heart you’ll ever meet. This gorgeous tricolor boy is playful, goofy, and so excited to show you just how happy he is, especially when toys are involved! His foster family loves him so much that everyone wanted to name him, so now he proudly goes by Teddy Oliver "Ollie" Moon because one name just isn’t enough for a dog this special. Teddy’s story hasn’t been easy. He was found tied up with another dog and sadly ended up on the euthanasia list at the shelter. His smaller companion was rescued first, and Teddy nearly lost his chance but thankfully, he’s now safe in a wonderful foster home where his true personality is shining through. Teddy is housebroken, crate-trained, good on walks, and great with other dogs. He’s friendly, affectionate, and always ready for fun. Because he’s a big, bouncy boy who can be a little jumpy when excited, we’re looking for an experienced home with older kids (just due to his size). We’ve seen no signs of aggression just lots of joy, energy, and love. This sweet, special boy deserves the forever family who will give him the second chance he almost didn’t get. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, goofy best friend who will fill your home with love and laughter, Teddy Oliver "Ollie" Moon! is your guy. 🐾 Reach out to learn more!

Story
🎉 Foster Update! 🎉 Harper has come such a long way in foster care and is officially ready to start looking for her forever home❤️ Here’s what her foster mom has to say: Harper is the mini pittie/bully of your dreams! Named after her doppelgänger, the harp seal, she is sweet, playful, and curious. She loves people but is content playing solo with her toys or chilling on her bed. This little land seal is a joy to have around and constantly provides comic relief throughout the day. She can be left home alone easily, day or night, is completely housebroken and crate-trained, and has no separation anxiety. She does great with strangers and loves to say hello to everyone! Harper currently shares her foster home with another dog. She’s food-motivated and eager to learn. She already knows “sit” and is learning “leave it.” While she still has more to learn, her sweet temperament makes her a wonderful student. While we don’t know much about Harper’s past, we do know she has absolutely flourished since leaving the shelter. We’re looking for a stable, loving home where she can continue to thrive. ⸻ Meet Harper❤️ Harper is approximately 3 years old and, much like her namesake, has the sweetest little seal face that everyone falls in love with. Another discarded mommy who was found as a stray, Harper has left that chapter behind and is ready for the life she always deserved. This wiggly little girl absolutely adores people and soaks up every bit of attention she can get. She’s social, affectionate, and has a goofy charm that makes everyone who meets her smile. Whether she’s out on an adventure or curled up for a nap, Harper is simply happy to be included. Now all she needs is a family who will love her forever. If you think Harper might be the missing piece to your family, we’d love to hear from you❤️

Story
Dolly is a sweet, well socialized, 3 month old puppy and she is ready to be the newest member of your household. She loves people, enjoys playing with other dogs, and is downright fantastic. If you'd like to add this cutie to your family, we'd love to hear from you. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
*Nena's Adoption Fee has been sponsored by our friends at Another Shot Coffee Roasters!* Meet our goofy American Bully girl named Nena! Nena is about 1.5 years old, and she was surrendered to our shelter after her owner could no longer care for her. She is a very playful and outgoing girl once she gets to know someone. Nena can be a little standoffish at first, but give her a few tasty treats and she warms right up. Nena has a very short and stocky body type with a squishy, Bulldog like face. This causes her to honk and snort when she runs and plays. She will likely be sensitive to the very hot heat once the summer comes. Nena is a lover, and destroyer, of all fun squeaky toys. She is motivated by both food and toys, and will sit politely for both. She has little legs, but she can move fast and has no problem jumping up on couches. She also loves a good butt scratch and a couch cuddle session. Nena is not aggressive towards other dogs in general, but due to her extra love of toys, we think it would be best for her to go to a home where she can be the only dog to avoid confrontations over those. She gets a little too worked up around active kitties for us to feel comfortable placing her in a home with cats. Nena can go to a home with children 12 years and older who have experience with dogs. We would prefer Nena to go to a home that has experience with Bullies/Bulldogs. No first time dog owners please! Once we find an adopter to commit to taking Nena home, we will have her cherry eye surgically fixed and have her spayed. There will not be an additional fee for this. If you are interested in adopting Nena Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! Her adoption fee has been sponsored! PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. Story
Meet our very silly and outgoing boy named Gauge! We think Gauge is about 2 years old and he came to our shelter after he was found wandering alone in the street very early one morning. Gauge is a super friendly dog who loves everyone! He's happy just getting some attention and butt scratches. Gauge is a very short and stocky boy. He has lots of wrinkles and Bulldog features. These include a Bulldog type face that can affect his breathing. He is affected by hot weather quickly and needs to be watched when he is outside to make sure he doesn't over heat. Gauge is a goofy dog who makes us all laugh with his big smile. He had a deep ear infection when he first came to us. He is receiving treatment for this, but his new family will need to keep an eye on his ears and wrinkles to make sure they stay clean. Gauge will need an adopter who uses a full service vet, not just a vaccine clinic, for his Bulldog type needs throughout his life. He is good with other dogs and he can go to a home with children 10 years old and older. Experience owning Bulldogs/similar breeds is a plus! If you are interested in adopting Gauge Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! His adoption fee is $75.00. PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! Story
Primrose, Princeton and Percival's mom was abandoned at a home when her previous owners moved out. She was left out on a chain to fend for herself. Luckily the neighbors realized she had been left behind and took her in. She was in horrible physical condition and pregnant by to neighborhood stray (a black lab) that would jump the fence when she was in heat. It was reported by the neighbors that these 2 had had multiple litters together but none of the puppies ever survived. The neighbors children fell in love with mom and they are keeping her but needed help rehoming her very last litter (we assisted in getting her spayed). These pups are the most laid back and chill group I have ever seen.

Story
Name: Captain Nicknames: Cap. Cappy. Cappuccino. Cappa. Chee-no. Breed: Bully mix Age: 4 years Weight: 56 lbs. Before OMD: Found as a stray. Spent a lot of time with our vet partner the last few months while we worked through his core vetting and extra diagnostics to make sure he was medically cleared for his adoption! His adopters should know he has a grade 3 murmur but it only presents itself when he is worked up/excited and it won't affect his quality of life or life span. Energy level: Medium. He goes for 2-3 mile walks when the weather cooperates. He does spend much of the day napping, but if he senses any movement and fun-to-be-had, he's springing into action. If he were a plant: He would be the invasive species variety. He likes to take up every inch of space around you. What we love most: When he leans his stocky-little-self into you for pets. When he rests his cylinder block head on you and stares up at you. When he army crawls over to you for pets. His always-in-a-good-mood disposition. The way he skips up the stairs and hops on the way back down. What he loves most: Ice cubes - as soon as he hears the freezer opening, he's bolting over and sitting like a VGB, patiently waiting for his cube. Attention. Pets. Walks. Snuggles. Food. Melting into his dog beds and couch cushions. Working on: Less pulling on leash when he sees little critters. Less corn-cobbing (nibbling) you when he's excited and wants attention. Less licking foster family members. Kids: 8+ please. He has not socialized yet with kiddos and we expect that he would easily knock little ones over. Dogs: His size or larger! He currently lives with 2 larger, low-key dogs and is very respectful (though could annoy a potential companion with his very "thoughtful" grooming techniques). Small dogs incite his prey drive and are a definite no. Cats: Hard pass House-trained: Yep! Crate-trained: Yes and he currently sleeps in his crate. Captain is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from our website.
