DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Zelda is 6yo, weighs 50lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped.  Zelda's guardian adds:  "Zelda has plenty of love and energy to share.  She's still willing to be a couch potato and cuddle during movies though.  She thrives in a suburban or rural area.  Zeldo is truly the silliest, sweetest, most cuddly girl.  I'm going to miss her like crazy!  I allow her to roam the townhouse because she's not destructive.  I often find her on the couch or waiting by the door when I return.  Where she sleeps at night varies, but typically on her bed in the hallway outside my bedroom or on the sofa.  Sometimes I'll let her sleep in bed with me.  She knows 'sit' and 'lay down'.  Zelda quickly learns where she's not allowed to be in the home.  Regarding car rides, she does so well!  She enjoys drives!  She loves looking out the window.  I crack the window so I can sniff a bit.  She knows she's not allowed to be in the front seat, and I taught her to wait on the back seat until I open the back door for her to exit the car.  Zelda dislikes/fears loud sudden noises such as fireworks or gunshots.  She's not a huge fan of the church clock, either, but she's not scared." Zelda's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  "I am moving to a country with a strict import ban on her breed." Zelda's guardian offers a brief a medical history: "Zelda was surrendered to the shelter severely underweight and lactating (without her puppies).  She was treated for eye and oral infections.  Zelda takes fluoxetine (prozac) daily for anxiety." Zelda's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Zelda hasn't lived with children, her guardian recommends her living with children, stating... "Families with children between ages 3-13 years old have dog-sit Zelda for a few nights.  She was very loving, playful, and gentle.  She calmly lets children in our neighborhood pet her and feed her treats.  Since Zelda is very active and loves attention, I recommend a family with children!" Zelda's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Zelda hasn't lived with dogs, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating.... "Zelda has leash reactivity (getting better!) when she sees other dogs on walks. The shelter recommended I do not take her to dog parks, especially when smaller dogs are present.  She is selective with her dog buddies.  I have taken her on playdates in a fenced yard with other dogs her size, and she behaves well when she's not on a leash.  She honestly didn't seem interested in playing with the dogs.  I believe she simply enjoys playing with humans.  The shelter mentioned even with her reactivity,  Zelda has had plenty of opportunities to bite or scratch another dog, yet she has never!" Zelda's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Zelda hasn't lived with cats, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "I've only seen her interact with cats while on walks.  She again has strong leash reactivity". Zelda's guardian describes her as: Very active Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Protective Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Crate-Trained Zelda's guardian describes her ideal future home: "Zelda would benefit from a fenced yard and a household with an active lifestyle. She has plenty of energy and love to share.  She's still willing to be a couch potato and cuddle during movies though.  She thrives in a suburban or rural area.  I live in the city, so sometimes we drive to parks in suburban areas and I quickly notice she's more relaxed.  Excessive noise and traffic can be distracting and sometimes overwhelming for her.  She truly is the sweetest, silliest, most cuddly girl. I'm going to miss her like crazy." Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Baltimore, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1. If you are interested in ADOPTING me, please CLICK HERE:  ADOPT ME 2. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Mozzie is 7-1/2yo, weighs 56lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, but is not microchipped.  Mozzie's guardian adds:        "Mozzie is an outstanding little love bug. He is always smiling.  H e loves adults and would be happy to cuddle all day long. He is a joyous goofball when he wants to play and listens very well to commands. He always wants to be right by your side and protect his owner. Everyone that meets him immediately falls in love with is friendly personality. I never have trouble introducing him to houseguests. When he goes outside to go potty he does his business quickly!  Mozzie is alone 8 hours/day and sleeps in a bed or in his crate at night.  He knows 'no', 'off', 'move', back up', 'sit', 'stay', 'night night' (go to crate), 'lay down', 'come here', 'closer'.  He dislikes/fears the sounds of keys and loud vehicles passing by.  He free roams the house during the day or is locked in a crate.  He has a habit of eating underwear, so if there is any reason dirty laundry or trash cannot be kept behind a closed door he would be in the crate.  He rides fabulously in the car!"       Mozzie's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:   "Behavioral issues, he nipped a child." Bite/Lunge Incident:  On 30 May 2024, Mozzie nipped his guardian's boyfriend's child; the bite broke the skin; animal control was not involved.  Mozzie's guardian explains:  "He was being introduced to the child, he was happy and wagging his tail.  He then stopped to lunge and bite her with no warning." Mozzie's guardian states the following regarding children:  Mozzie hasn't lived with children, but during his only visit and introduction to a child, he bit, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children. Mozzie's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Mozzie has lived with a dog, but his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "He barks, whines, lunges, pulls on leash, will bit a dog". Mozzie's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Mozzie has lived with cats, so his guardian recommends his living with cats, stating "He is very excited about cats but can be introduced and live peacefully with a cat.  When he sees a cat outside he will whine and bark and try to get to the cat". Mozzie's guardian describes him as: Barks some Moderately active Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Fearful Affectionate  Nervous Always at your side House-trained Leash-trained Crate-trained Indoor pet Outdoor pet Likes men Likes women Mozzie's guardian describes his ideal future home:  " My ideal home for him would be someone with a fenced yard, but it is not required.  Someone who is experienced with reactive dogs and can help him overcome his nervousness.  I do believe he reacts out of fear.  Someone who has time to play with him. Someone with no children or other pets, cats are okay, he has never bitten a cat but the introduction must be done properly over time.  I would be overly protective about introducing him to anyone other than adults, who he is extreme friendly and loving with.  Someone who likes to go out on adventures, he is a very excited dog and loves to explore the world around him." Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Bianca is 8yo, weighs 65lbs, is intact, is not up to date on her vaccinations, and is not microchipped.  Bianca's guardian adds:  "She dislikes any animals near her food, dislikes her nails being clipped; never home alone during the day; she has the freedom to roam or she will sit in her crate; she sleeps either in her crate or on her bed pillow; she gets very excited and will jump all over the car, so I would suggest having her in a crate if taking a car ride.  She does not respond to the word 'sit'; she only responds to the word 'cease'.  She is a jumper.  She likes to jump on people and wrap her paws around them like she is hugging." Bianca's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her: "She is getting older and I just dont have the time to give her the attention that she deserves.  I am also having financial trouble that is preventing me from keeping her up on her vet visits, vaccines etc." Bianca's guardian offers a brief a medical history: "She does not like her nails clipped.  I have been unable to clip them for a very long time and they desperately need it.  I contacted a vet to ask if they could put her under anesthesia in order to clip her nails, but the cost I could not afford.  She also has a lump on her stomach.  It seems to be a cyst of some sort but I have not been able to afford a vet visit to find out exactly what it is.  I just need her to go to someone that can really give her the care she deserves." Bite incident:  In September 2023, in Odenton, Bianca bit another dog when it got close to her food while eating; the bite didn't break the skin; animal control was not involved; medical attention was not sought.  Bianca's guardian explains:   "She has never bit/scratched/attacked a human but she is very territorial when it comes to her food.  We had another dog that got too close to her bowl and she bit him.  It did not break the skin, and he seemed to be fine afterwards.  She shows no aggression towards the human handling her food, only towards other animals that get near her food." Bianca's guardian states the following regarding children:  Since Bianca has lived with children, ages 2-19, her guardian recommends her living with children, stating... "She has never showed aggression toward a child ever. Inside or outside the home, although she has not been around many children outside the home.  She does het excited when outside and sees other dogs/people." Bianca's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Bianca has lived with another dog, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating... "She is okay around other dogs but will defend herself if she feels threatened.  No other animals should be allowed near her food." Bianca's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Since Bianca lives with cats and ferrets, her guardian recommends her living with other animals, stating... "She is very playful with other animals.  We have had cats and ferrets both of which she played with." Bianca's guardian describes her as: Couch potato Quiet Playful Friendly Affectionate Protective Indoor Only Pet House-Trained Crate-Trained Bianca's guardian describes her ideal future home:  "Possibly a family with a fenced yard and no other dogs."
