She loves to play, and will engage in any games you want to play! While she can be energetic, her favorite activity is just to chill and relax. She especially enjoys blankets, sofas, and beds! Her favorite spot is in the corner of the bed, leaving you plenty of room, how perfect! Lila has done very well in her foster home, being very polite, doing all her business outside, and just being a joy to have around! She is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows lots of tricks! Her manners are on point, and she has responded well to her name. In addition to her name, she also seems to know "sit", "down", "shake", and "stay". She has done very well in vehicles in the past, and seems to enjoy the ride! She has slowly warmed up to living with a cat in a foster home, so slow introductions will be necessary for her. She has done well in the past with some dogs but can be leash-reactive, so a household with dog experience, patience, and the ability to handle Lila's size and energy would be best for her.

Aster is a sweetheart who has been stealing the hearts of all the people she meets. Her love and excitement for life are contagious. She always brightens up the day of her human friends with her joyful and enthusiastic personality! Aster is extremely loyal and loves being close to her people. She shows her affection by leaning into you and giving you a huge smile. It's nearly impossible not to smile back! She is adventurous and enjoys hiking and going on walks, but equally enjoys cuddling on the couch. She enjoys playing with rope toys and having the zoomies in the yard, but her favorite activity is playing in the water. Whether it's the beach, a creek, or a doggy pool, Aster is the first one to dive right in! From her time in homes on Dogventures, Aster Lee is reported to be fully house trained, is a lovely houseguest, and will even go to the door to let you know she has to go outside. She's a smart girl who knows a few basic commands, like sit, paw, down, place, stay, and she is always eager to learn more! Aster also loves other dogs. One of her favorite times of the day is when she gets to see her dog friends during the daily playgroup sessions she enjoys in the yard of the rescue care center. She's a social butterfly and makes friends with every dog she meets! Aster Lee is seeking an experienced and loving family. Meet Harry, the sweetest, goofiest, and most lovable boy! Harry is looking for an active forever home where he can live like a prince! Harry loves walks and has done very well on a leash, stopping for intervals, and sticking with you. Although Harry will need lots of exercise, he has had a soft, cuddly side to him that will just melt your heart. He loves burying his head into you, showing you his version of a hug, with all the love and affection you could ask for! Be prepared for him to show you he's a lap dog. Harry's favorite game is fetch, but he is not all too picky with his toys, he loves them all! The games you play, he will surely participate. His zest for life can overwhelm small children, so a home with kids 12+ would be best for Harry. He does well with dogs, and has thoroughly enjoyed playgroup at the rescue center! Harry has done well with house manners and has been crate trained, though he wouldn't mind a refresher! He is a star when it comes to basic training, knowing to "sit" like a master! His deep food motivation makes him a lovely dog to do tricks with. Harry is a bit too curious about cats, so a feline-free home would be best for this great young man. She is quickly learning her manners -- she can sit and stay so far, but there seems to be a whole other set of skills waiting to blossom! Maybe she's a nature spy with one black eye, too! As her graceful roots indicate, she saunters on leash with minimal pulling, sniffing, and investigating her surroundings. Her sweet and friendly nature doesn't stop with humans, as she has gotten along in the past with other dogs! In addition to her poised demeanor, Willow Grace is a perfect house guest, as she is also housebroken. She would benefit from a human who would take the time to help her meet her health goals. But don't let her muscular build fool you, as she loves to run around with her ears in the wind! She was so scared of humans that it was pretty clear someone had mistreated her terribly.  In her maternity foster, she had her puppies, and was happy to see they all went off to their forever homes.  Noel then went to a foster home with several other dogs. Now that she no longer had puppies to tend to, her foster could start helping her build her trust with humans. Over time, she slowly developed a familiarity with her human foster; they bonded during long walks. It took months, but Noel started asking for pets and napping on the couch with her foster. More quickly, she bonded with the other dogs in her foster home. She’d wake up in the morning, eager to leap out of her crate and start playing with her doggie siblings. She became accustomed to her foster home - content even - and time passed.    This foster family was unable to continue being her foster, so Noel moved to a new foster in May of 2023. Her new fosters instantly fell in love with her, but they realized Noel now had to start developing trust all over again.  She was in a new home. New people. She didn’t know if she could trust them. She tried her best to make herself invisible, to avoid anything that could result in negative experiences. Her fosters gave her space - and gave her so many reasons to trust them. She finally came out of her crate, but then she settled onto a dog bed, very still. She didn’t dare ask for anything. She didn’t ask to go potty - she held it for more than a day, until her foster convinced her to go outside. She didn’t ask for food. She showed impeccable house manners - she didn’t touch anything. She was simply trying her best to not be seen.    But - she has a wonderful doggie foster brother. He showed her that the people in the home were safe.   She has been watching him and from him, learning that there is love and safety in that home. She has been watching him get snuggles from the humans - and her fosters saw her watch that with such yearning, such uncertainty. They celebrated the day she came to them and asked to be petted - after just three weeks in the home, instead of the months she needed in the previous home! She is still uncertain but the trust builds by the day.    Noel once again is making friends with her fosters during long walks. Her fosters celebrate every walk she goes on where she actually relaxes and sniffs. She’s still uncertain of other dogs and people, but is quickly learning to follow her fosters’ lead and continue walking around the neighborhood, joyfully sniffing all the smells.    One very special thing about Noel - one thing that always reaches that spark in her - is her complete love for puppies. In her current foster home, her fosters saw Noel progressively build confidence with her adult dog foster brother and start to share moments of play. The moment a foster puppy arrived, though, Noel instantly transformed into a happy-go-lucky, joyful, loving pup who constantly played with the puppy and happily accepted all its floppy, awkward affections.    Noel has come such a long way in trusting humans, and is eager to have her own now. She is looking for a forever home that’s ready to put her heart at ease.  She needs an angel who understands that a traumatized dog needs time to build trust. Who understands that no matter how much love grows in the previous (foster) home, it will take time to grow again in the forever home. Who understands that once the bond has been built, once trust has been gained, they will be the lucky recipients of all the love Noel has to offer. Her current fosters say she is so sweet and they see the lovely dog she will be with the right patient, loving family.   This dog who had such a traumatic start deserves her soft landing, her happy ending. Taz just turned 5 years old! I acquired him from the Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) in Washington, DC. My schedule and capacity to support his needs has dwindled recently and I believe he deserves a home where he can have more space to play, run around, and be supported by a loving family. Taz is very affectionate, gentle and fully of energy before he gets his daily exercise. He is best suited for someone with a backyard and experience with his breed.
