Story
Kalohe is a very active girl who likes attention and being loved. When she is by herself she is very relaxed, but when she gets around other dogs she likes to be the leader of the pack. She likes to run and jump high and is very alert. She will do well in a home with no other pets and kids that are older as she likes to have attention. It will be very hard to part with her but I know she needs one on one attention that our home cant provide as we have a large pack currently. We would love to keep in touch with her new owner and have play dates or just get updates.

I'm a big dog full of love and youth. If you're seeking a loyal companion who is always up for an adventure, I'm the dog for you. I'm full of energy and ready to be a part of you're family!   I love people and other dogs but, due to my size, would do best in a home without younger children or small dogs. I have basic training: I walk well on a leash and I'm crate trained. I'm fully vaccinated, neutered, and healthy other than a paw condition called pododermatitis: my paws can become a little inflamed and are treated with wipes or foam twice a day. But that doesn't stop me!   I'm ready to bring joy and laughter to you and you're family. I can't wait to share all the love I've got to give!   Adoption Application: http://bit.ly/adoptrd r My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Story
Please contact Maddy Karon (maddyk@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Beautiful pitty/goodest girl ISO forever home! SILVA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Silva       Best Guess for Breed: Pit mix   Best Guess for Age: 1.5 year       SEX:  female   Approximate Weight: 55 lbs   Gets Along With:  Silva is wonderful with other dogs at dog parks! However, she prefers to be the only pup in her home. She hasn't been seen with cats but can be tested. Due to possible resource guarding, she would also be best in a home with no children under the age of 15.    Currently Living at: DC area foster home.   All about Silva:Silva arrived into the DC area in January 2023 and was quickly adopted out into a loving family. Due to changed circumstances, she now needs a new home. Her previous humans loved her very much. This is one of the things they said about her: 'We don't crate her when we're out. She is very good. She has never chewed anything in the house except her toys. And she has a lot of toys. She is spoiled. I can't help getting her a new toy when I'm out.'   Silva has all that awesome young-dog energy and was a great companion to her humans on daily long walks. She also enjoys burning off that great energy at the dog park; her family said this about her when she's off-leash: 'Oh my gosh, she looooves other dogs. Loves to play.'Her previous home did not have cats but she can be tested with them. She has only lived with adults, and never lived with other dogs. One thing that has been noted about Silva is that while she absolutely loves playing with dogs off-leash, and enjoys meeting them in general, she isn't fond of when dogs run up and get into her face while she's on-leash. She gave an acceptable correction to a puppy who jumped on her unexpectedly while she was on-leash, but she still would do best with an adopter who is ready to train her. Generally, she is fine with men but has seemed nervous when meeting an unknown male on two occasions, for that reason also, training would be good - to help build her braves! She can also be protective at home; based on that, it is likely best that Silva be allowed to shine as the only dog in the home. Silva has been very well loved and has SO much love to give. She'd definitely enjoy a home where she gets a new toy every time her humans went out, but you know what? That's not high on her priority list at all. What she wants most of all is to once again have her own humans and to know she is safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange, she promises loyal companionship for all her days.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:   The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Come meet Noel  and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Dec. 10) from 12-3 pm at the PETSMART in ROCKVILLE (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)!   Name: Noel     Best Guess for Breed: Pit mix      Best Guess for Age: 4 years as of December 2022       Sex:  Female        Approximate Weight:35-40 lbs   Check out these cute videos of sweet Noel! https://youtube.com/shorts/7lhj0hHNgYw https://youtube.com/shorts/JKBmbbJ62gs https://youtu.be/8vb8qP7VQqU   https://youtube.com/shorts/-ZBi6Qg4lHY    Gets Along With:  Noel does well with other dogs and must go to a home with a confident and welcoming resident dog.  No cats please!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster   Special adoption considerations:  Noel is shy would do best in a home with another dog!  She isn't recommended for homes with kids under 12 because of her shyness.   Noel's Story:  Noel is looking for a very special home that will share all the love she has in her heart.  Her journey has been long, will you be the one to complete this love story?  When she first came to Lucky Dog in December 2020, she was heavily pregnant. She was so scared of humans that it was pretty clear someone had mistreated her terribly.  In her maternity foster, she had her puppies, and was happy to see they all went off to their forever homes.  Noel then went to a foster home with several other dogs. Now that she no longer had puppies to tend to, her foster could start helping her build her trust with humans. Over time, she slowly developed a familiarity with her human foster; they bonded during long walks. It took months, but Noel started asking for pets and napping on the couch with her foster. More quickly, she bonded with the other dogs in her foster home. She’d wake up in the morning, eager to leap out of her crate and start playing with her doggie siblings. She became accustomed to her foster home - content even - and time passed.    This foster family was unable to continue being her foster, so Noel moved to a new foster in May of 2023. Her new fosters instantly fell in love with her, but they realized Noel now had to start developing trust all over again.  She was in a new home. New people. She didn’t know if she could trust them. She tried her best to make herself invisible, to avoid anything that could result in negative experiences. Her fosters gave her space - and gave her so many reasons to trust them. She finally came out of her crate, but then she settled onto a dog bed, very still. She didn’t dare ask for anything. She didn’t ask to go potty - she held it for more than a day, until her foster convinced her to go outside. She didn’t ask for food. She showed impeccable house manners - she didn’t touch anything. She was simply trying her best to not be seen.    But - she has a wonderful doggie foster brother. He showed her that the people in the home were safe.   She has been watching him and from him, learning that there is love and safety in that home. She has been watching him get snuggles from the humans - and her fosters saw her watch that with such yearning, such uncertainty. They celebrated the day she came to them and asked to be petted - after just three weeks in the home, instead of the months she needed in the previous home! She is still uncertain but the trust builds by the day.    Noel once again is making friends with her fosters during long walks. Her fosters celebrate every walk she goes on where she actually relaxes and sniffs. She’s still uncertain of other dogs and people, but is quickly learning to follow her fosters’ lead and continue walking around the neighborhood, joyfully sniffing all the smells.    One very special thing about Noel - one thing that always reaches that spark in her - is her complete love for puppies. In her current foster home, her fosters saw Noel progressively build confidence with her adult dog foster brother and start to share moments of play. The moment a foster puppy arrived, though, Noel instantly transformed into a happy-go-lucky, joyful, loving pup who constantly played with the puppy and happily accepted all its floppy, awkward affections.    Noel has come such a long way in trusting humans, and is eager to have her own now. She is looking for a forever home that’s ready to put her heart at ease.  She needs an angel who understands that a traumatized dog needs time to build trust. Who understands that no matter how much love grows in the previous (foster) home, it will take time to grow again in the forever home. Who understands that once the bond has been built, once trust has been gained, they will be the lucky recipients of all the love Noel has to offer. Her current fosters say she is so sweet and they see the lovely dog she will be with the right patient, loving family.   This dog who had such a traumatic start deserves her soft landing, her happy ending. If you can help give her the loving home she dreams about, either by reaching out to the adoption coordinator listed here to discuss potential adoption or by passing Noel’s story along to others—thank you!  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:  The adoption fee for Noel is $460,  which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at  bit.ly/adoptaluckydog.   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Darlin Dallas is our handsome Put mix boy that is everyone’s dream dog.  His foster mom, who has done a lot of fostering for this rescue, is  totally smitten and overboard in love with this PERFECT boy.  Dallas will melt your heart the minute you meet him.  This Pit/lab mix is the ideal family dog that checks all the boxes for dog perfection.  Dallas is so easy going and has absolutely perfect house manners and never, never makes a mess.  Dallas enjoys car rides, walks, and can keep up with the best of anyone who loves to jog.  Obviously you can see that Dallas is all muscle and at 50-pounds, this boy is a  healthy one year old hunk. Dallas obviously was someone’s dog, as he is so well trained and smart.  Even though Dallas is 50 pounds, he thinks he is a lap dog.  One of his favorite past-times is to sit on his foster mom’s lap while she watches TV, and puts his head on her shoulder throughout the entire show.  Once the show is over, he will gaze into your eyes with those beautiful chestnut eyes of his, and then give you a big kiss.  He is one in a million, absolutely the perfect boy.  Dallas is neutered, UTD on all vaccinations, on HW prevention and microchipped.  If you are interested please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.December 7, 2023, 1:37 pm

Story
We saved Roxie from the streets of Rochester while she was still a tiny puppy. She's incredibly sweet and one of the most loving dogs we've ever had. Unfortunately she doesn't always do well with our oldest dog, we think because she's trying to be the alpha of the house. Ideally Roxie would get a home where she can be the one and only dog and star of the family. Roxie loves running incredibly fast and eats like every meal is her last. If it wasn't for her problems with our oldest dog we wouldn't even think about giving her up. We would love to hear from you if you think Roxie could be a good fit in your home!
