She`s sweet and calm, and will lay on the couch snoozing all day if you work from home with her. She rarely barks, making her a great apartment dog. She has done well when left alone.Tater Tot thinks she`s a lap dog, so be sure to make room on the couch (and your lap!) for this little warming blanket. And she has the most amazing markings with such a dear boopable sniffy snout. This wonderful, sweet girl is in foster and has charmed the neighborhood. Dori is potty trained and has done well on her own at home, and is friendly with new people, including children. Dori has a playful side and enjoys a good game of fetch but tends toward a more chill vibe, gently requesting pets and belly rubs and chewing her stuffies. Dori just wants to spend her days relaxing and enjoying life while you bask in her soulful, adoring gaze! Dori loves to go for walks and happily dons her harness. She calmly sleeps through the night in her own room and greets us with soft kisses in the morning. She`s been fine staying on her own for stretches during the day, too, and hasn`t had one accident! She`s very friendly and charms all she meets with her kind greetings and too adorable spots. She has been wonderful with school-aged kids who visit her foster home. Dori is very attentive and smart. She checks in a lot to see what you want her to be doing. She`s got `sit` down pat and is quickly adding new skills to her repertoire. Dori can`t wait to find her new family. He loves his daily walks and playing and also has a knack for deep sleeping on his bed or couch. He can be left alone uncrated while his caregivers are at work.There is so much to love about Splash. Actually, there is a lot to love as this handsome sweetheart is the real deal! He is a hefty darling who clearly likes his meals! He is incredibly so cute anyway! Splash was adopted from us not too long ago but sadly his owner could not keep him. But he is very ready to find a new family today. In his previous home, Splash was happy to see guests and wag his adorable tail! And he thought squirrels should never enter the yard! What a funny pup. And it was shared that he is a very sweet and loving doggie who is loyal and precious. He recently went on a fun field trip with a volunteer, and they shared, `Splash is an easy-going dude! He is so gentle and loving.`

When she first came to us through Humane Law Enforcement, we weren’t sure if she’d even be able to walk. She had been kept in a crate almost 24/7, in her own waste, and was underweight with painful open sores on her paws. With love, patience, and hand-feeding, Grizzy has made remarkable progress. Her paws are healing, and though they’re a bit splayed giving her a cute “duck feet” look, her muscles are strengthening and she’s learning how to run, pounce, and play like the puppy she is. She’s discovering the big, wide world outside of that crate—and she loves every moment of it!Grizzy thrives on cuddles, playtime, and especially the company of other dogs. She can be a little nervous if someone looms over her, so she needs a patient home that understands she’s still learning and building confidence. *Woof* Meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW between 12pm-7pm daily!A Nyala is an artiodactyl antelope that is native to Southern Africa (and yes, I know, I had to look up `artiodactyl` too -- it means the animal has hooves and bears weight equally on two of their five toes -- the things you learn here at the shelter.... amazing!). Now, back to me -- I am truly as graceful and elegant as an antelope, so I am glad someone thought to give me that name! My gorgeous brindle coat with its elegantly placed white markings makes me a true striking beauty (if I may say so myself). It took me a moment to settle in here at the shelter and some things still make me a bit nervous, so I am looking for a home that can give me time and space to adjust and settle so I can blossom into my antelope-like doggie self! And a wonderful volunteer who recently spent time with me had this to share: `Sweet, shy, and one of the most beautiful dogs I`ve ever seen.
