Ollie is overall in good health! 2 years ago Ollie tore both rear ACLs but had TPLO surgery followed by 6 months of hydrotherapy physic therapy. He can do anything and everything a normal dog can. Story
Meet Sara!Sara is a beautiful 74 lb mixed-breed dog who is ready for a fresh start in a loving home. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Sara knows her basic commands, is house trained, and is comfortable going into a crate when needed.Sara has proven herself to be a wonderful companion. She has spent time in volunteer homes, attended off-site events, participated in meet-and-greets, and met many new people — all while showing her affectionate, engaging, and loving personality. She truly enjoys human connection and bonds closely with her people.Sara has done well with cats and can happily coexist with them with slow, thoughtful introductions. She enjoys their presence and would do best in a home that understands how to set everyone up for success from the start. She walks nicely on a leash, and while she can adapt to many situations, a fenced yard would be ideal for her to relax and enjoy some outdoor time.On chilly days, Sara is a total cuddle bug and loves curling up with her people. She’s also great at entertaining herself, making her a nice balance of affectionate and independent.Sara is currently thriving in a foster home and has been working with a professional trainer to help her be her very best self. Her foster family knows her well and would love to talk with potential adopters about Sara’s routines, what’s working for her, and easy ways to continue the training and structure that help her succeed. What Sara Needs to Succeed• Adult-only home• Calm, structured environment• No other dogs at this time so she can remain the focus• An adopter committed to guidance, consistency, and continued growthSara is a true staff and volunteer favorite. She is affectionate, intelligent, and full of potential — she simply needs the right match to help her shine. If you are interested in adopting Sara, please complete an adoption application and we will reach out to you right away to schedule an appointment. Please note: Sara is in a foster home and is not currently housed at MCAC. Story
Hi… remember me? I’m Grace — you might recognize me as the “Facebook-famous” girl with the big heart and the even bigger comeback I came to MCAC after a rough start as a stray, and I had to be incredibly brave when I lost my leg. But here’s the thing about me — I didn’t lose my joy, my trust, or my love for people. Not one bit.I’m about 1 year old, and I’m as sweet as they come. I get around amazingly well, even on three legs, and I’m proof that resilience can come wrapped in fur and kisses. I love people, I love affection, and yes… I give the best kisses. The good stuff about me:Friendly, gentle, and overflowing with loveGets along great with other dogsCats are a mystery to me, so slow introductions are recommendedHappy spirit, wagging tail, and a heart full of gratitudeA little more about Grace’s journey:Because she’s still healing from her surgery and is waiting to be spayed, Grace is currently available as a foster-to-adopt. This means you can welcome her into your home now, help her continue to heal in a loving environment, and once she’s fully recovered and spayed, we’ll make the adoption official. Don`t worry, while you are fostering her we will continue to take care of all of Grace`s medical fees. And here’s even more good news:Grace’s adoption fee is fully SPONSORED, so all she needs now is the right home and the right heart.I’ve already fought the hard battles. Now I’m just looking for a couch to curl up on, a family to adore, and a home where I can continue to heal and thrive. If you believe in second chances, in resilience, and in love that only grows stronger through adversity — I might just be your girl.Come meet me M-F 10-4. 21417 Dunham Road Clinton Township, MI Let me show you why everyone keeps calling me Grace.

Story
Meet Dots — proof that spots = personality.Dots is a young female pointer mix with a gorgeous dark chocolate and white coat, generously sprinkled with spots like a very energetic cookie. She has endless energy, zero chill, and an absolute love for playing with other dogs. If there’s a game of chase happening, Dots is already winning it.She’s playful, curious, and currently living her best life with no concept of manners or commands (yet!). Dots will definitely need training, but she’s smart, enthusiastic, and ready to learn—she just hasn’t read the rulebook so far. With consistency, structure, and exercise, she’s going to shine.Dots will need a home with a secure fenced yard where she can safely zoom, explore, and burn off that turbo-powered energy. Because she’s high-energy and still figuring out her impulse control, we recommend older kids who can keep up with her enthusiasm. No cats, please—Dots thinks everyone wants to play at full speed, and that’s a bit much for feline friends. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you active, laughing, and maybe enrolling in a training class or two, Dots is ready to spot her way right into your heart! If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100.

Story
Meet Hooch—a tan and white pit bull mix, approximately 3 years old, who is ready to step into his starring role as your new best friend. Hooch came to animal control as a dropped-off stray, but despite his unknown past, he has quickly captured the hearts of everyone he meets with his affectionate, gentle, and joyful personality.Hooch is a truly loving boy who is friendly with both people and other dogs. He greets the world with a wagging tail and an open heart, always eager to make new friends and soak up attention. His sweet nature and easygoing attitude make him a delight to be around, whether he’s cuddling with his humans or enjoying time with canine companions. This handsome guy already knows how to sit and shake, and he’s craving more enrichment, training, and structure in his future home. Hooch is eager to learn and would thrive with continued positive training that helps build his confidence and strengthens his bond with his family.Hooch is available as a foster-to-adopt until after his neuter appointment, with his adoption generously sponsored by Macomb County Animal Control. If you have other dogs at home, a dog-to-dog meet and greet will be required to ensure everyone is a good fit. If there are cats in the home, slow and supervised introductions are recommended, as his history with cats is unknown. He is fully up to date on all vaccines and preventative care and is now searching for his forever home—a place where he can finally settle in, feel safe, and be surrounded by love. Hooch is ready for a lifetime of comfort, companionship, and devotion, and he can’t wait to share it with a family of his own.My adoption fee is $50!

Story
Zippy is a 7-month-old pit bull puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s bright, energetic, and absolutely loves everyone she meets—seriously, she’s beyond sweet and soaks up attention like sunshine. This playful girl gets along wonderfully with other dogs and especially loves wrestling and romping with dogs and puppies her own size. Bigger dogs can make her a little nervous at first, but with slow introductions and supervision, she does just fine. With the same thoughtful approach, Zippy should be able to live peacefully with cats, too.Zippy would thrive in a home with a yard where she can zoom around, burn off her puppy energy, and—bonus points—play in the snow! She’s still a puppy and would benefit from puppy obedience classes to help her polish her manners and grow into a confident, well-rounded adult dog.If you’re looking for a loving, social, and fun-loving companion who’s ready to be your best friend, Zippy might just be your perfect match. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100
