Story
“Un-break my leash…” Introducing Toni Barxton — the smoothest silver sweetheart to come out of the 90’s R&B era. This gorgeous gray pittie mix is about 3 years old and has the voice of an angel… okay, mostly she just does happy zoomies and dramatic sighs, but the star power is absolutely there.Toni is smart, affectionate, and always ready to drop the hottest mixtape of the decade: Greatest Hits of Good Girl Behavior. She already knows sit, down, and shake, and she’d love a family committed to helping her continue her obedience journey so she can keep climbing the charts. When she’s not busy collecting platinum records for Best Wiggle Butt, Toni loves playing with toys, hanging with other dogs, and spreading love like it’s a slow jam on late-night radio. She’s playful and energetic, but also sweet enough to melt your heart faster than a 1997 love ballad.Toni would do best in a home with kids 12 and up who can respect her space and join her on all her adventures. She says “No Scrubs” to cats, though, so a feline-free home is a must.If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with beauty, brains, and enough personality to headline her own reunion tour, Toni Barxton is ready to be your number one hit.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is SPONSORED!

Story
Hi, my name is Dolly, and I`m a sweet senior girl looking for a loving home where I can enjoy the simple things in life. I`m very laid-back and easygoing, and I love spending time with my people. Whether it`s relaxing by your side, enjoying gentle pets, or simply being your loyal companion, I`m happiest when I`m with those I love.As a mature lady, I prefer a quieter, low-key lifestyle and would thrive in a calm home environment. I listen very well and have wonderful manners, making me an easy companion to have around. While I enjoy human companionship, I may be happiest as the only dog in the home where I can soak up all the attention for myself. If you`re looking for a gentle, affectionate friend who enjoys life`s slower pace, I may be the perfect match for you. I can`t wait to find a cozy place to call home and a family to love.Love,DollyIf you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is SPONSORED!

Story
Laura is a beautiful 6-year-old black-and-white Pit Bull mix who is looking for a second chance at forever. Originally adopted from Macomb County Animal Control as a young puppy, Laura recently found herself back in our care through no fault of her own. While life has thrown her a few unexpected twists, Laura`s loving spirit has never wavered. If you`re looking for a true `velcro dog,` Laura is your girl. She absolutely adores her people and wants nothing more than to be by your side, whether you`re binge-watching your favorite Netflix series, relaxing on the couch, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home. Human companionship is Laura`s love language.Laura does well with other dogs, but if given the choice, she`d much rather spend her time soaking up attention from her favorite humans. She would thrive in a home that can provide her with both affection and a little encouragement to stay active. Laura has become a bit of a couch potato over the years and would benefit from regular walks and adventures to help her return to a healthy weight. The best part? Laura is ready to go home today! She is already spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations and preventative care.If you`ve been searching for a loyal companion who offers the perfect balance of snuggly couch buddy and devoted adventure partner, Laura may be exactly who you`ve been waiting for.Come meet Laura today and discover just how much love one dog can give.Laura`s adoption fee is SPONSORED

Story
Lottie is a sweet soul searching for someone willing to give her what she needs most: patience, kindness, and time. While the world hasn`t always shown Lottie that it`s a safe and happy place, she is looking for a special adopter who can help her discover just how wonderful life can be. She may take a little time to settle in and build trust, but for the right person, watching her confidence grow will be an incredibly rewarding journey. One thing Lottie already knows is that she loves the company of other animals. In fact, she would likely thrive in a home with a friendly canine companion who can help show her the ropes and provide comfort as she adjusts to her new life.Lottie is currently up-to-date on all vaccines and preventative care. She will be available through a foster-to-adopt arrangement until after her upcoming spay appointment, allowing her future family the opportunity to begin building a bond before her adoption is finalized.Even better, Lottie`s adoption fee has been fully sponsored by a generous supporter, meaning her future family can focus entirely on helping her settle into her new home.If you have a patient heart and a little extra time to give, Lottie may just become one of the most rewarding companions you`ll ever know.

Story
Meet Bruegger At just 11 months old, Bruegger has already been through more than any puppy ever should. He was brought into Macomb County Animal Control after it was suspected he had been hit by a car. Scared, injured, and in pain, this sweet boy arrived with a healing pelvic fracture and wounds to his head.Despite everything he’s endured, Bruegger continues to show us just how resilient and loving he truly is.Day by day, he’s making incredible strides and healing nicely, but he still has a road ahead of him. Bruegger will need continued cage rest for the next few weeks while his little body finishes healing. What he needs most right now is a calm, loving foster or foster-to-adopt home where he can safely recover and finally learn what it feels like to be cared for.Because of his injuries, Bruegger will need only short walks and limited yard time for now. He would do best as the only dog in the home so he can focus on healing without the temptation of roughhousing or overplaying. We recommend children in the home be age 5 and older. He has never lived with cats, and he’s still working on potty training.Through it all, Bruegger remains gentle, sweet, and deserving of a second chance. He didn’t deserve the pain he’s experienced, but we know there’s someone out there willing to help him heal — not just physically, but emotionally too.Could you be the safe place Bruegger has been waiting for? If you are interested in meeting Bruegger, Macomb County Animal Control is open M-F from 10am-4pm.Adoption fee is Sponsored!
