I AM CURRENTLY PARTICIPATING IN A PROGRAM AS A LEARNING ASSISTANT AND WILL RETURN TO THE SHELTER ON 11/21/23.Hi there! My name is Mack!I`m about 2 years old, weigh about 62lbs, and I`m a very handsome Pitty Mix!I came to MCAC as a stray, and sadly my family never came to look for me. I`m really hoping to find my new furever home!To make matters worse, not only did my family never look for me, they also never kept me on heartworm prevention. Now, you guessed it, I`m heartworm positive! Heartworm is so easily preventable, but deadly if left untreated! Luckily for me, the nice people at MCAC are treating me! It is a lengthy process though, and I can`t be neutered for a month. I would love to come home with you today as a foster to adopt!I`m also currently being treated for an upper respiratory infection as well, but I am scheduled to be neutered on 12/5/23.I do know sit, but I would love to learn more tricks and commands! I love to play with toys as well! I would love a fenced in backyard to run around and play in!I get along with other dogs, I haven`t been around cats, though, so a slow introduction and supervision is recommended.I`m up to date on my vaccines, just make sure I see my new veterinarian regularly. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. To help speed up the application process, it is recommended that you complete the online application form found at the link below.https://animalcontrol.macombgov.org/AnimalControl-AdoptionApplicationMy adoption fee is SPONSORED! However, we do accept donations, especially to help with things like heartworm treatment, which I am receiving!

Story
Hello, my name is Trevor and I came into the shelter as a stray. I`m about a year old and weigh about 47lbs. I`m a very cute and loving dog that is looking for my forever home! I love to go for walks and play outside. I play well with other dogs in the yard. I also love to play with toys and after a long day of activities I love just to curl up in my bed to sleep.I will be good to go into a home with a nice family that will spend time with me and give me all the love in the world. I do enjoy fun activities that will keep me busy during the day and I do enjoy getting treats and relaxing in my bed all day. I have never been around cats before so if my new home has cats, it has to be a slow introduction. I hope to find my forever home soon before the holidays.I`m available as a foster to adopt as I`m being treated for a upper respiratory infection and waiting to be neutered. My adoption fee is being sponsoredIf you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. Story
Hi, my name is MARNIE!I am such a sweet, loving girl. I was very afraid when I came to Animal Control, but the people here have been so loving and kind and take me for walks and give me treats everyday. Unfortunately, someone took my brand new puppies away from me which made me very sad. I came in with my friend Bruce and we are very good with people.I am just a tad skittish with loud noises but once I get used to something, i begin to warm up to my surroundings. However, it is recommended my new home not have a lot of activity or loud noises which means I would be TERRIFICALLY happy in a home with just one or two adults. If children are in the home, they must be over 12 years of age and we will need to be introduced slowly. Although I`m very good playing with Bruce, if there are other dogs in the home, we will need to do a meet and greet to make sure all us pups get along.I know `sit` and `shake` and I love to cuddle up to my human friends. I also love, love, love Frosty Paws. I will maybe need just a bit of leash training once I`m adopted because I just started to walk on a leash for the first time last week.I hope you love my picture and profile and can`t wait to be a part of your life!!If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. Story
Hello, my name is Nova. I got lost while out for my morning coffee and nobody came looking for me to take me back home. I`m about 6years old and weigh about 60lbs. When I`m not out cleaning up the streets, I love to go for walks and play outside. Other dogs and I get along but I have enough energy for the both of us and it would be nice to be around a more relaxed dog. I absolutely enjoy being the center of attention while soaking up all of the pets. When its time to get ready for work, I put my Animal Control vest on I give my peers a hard time by rolling on my back and laugh as they struggle. But once its on then its time for funny business and I play, and play with all of my toys until its time to clock out for the day. I love everyone with the same energy so much that the amount of love that I have to share may not be the best suited for small or young kids. (Sorry). For this reason too cats may also not be able to support the energy I can bring. I think in my right forever home I will be able to lay on the couch and watch some movies with my people. Adopt me please, and you won`t regret it! I promise.
