Nala is officially up for adoption! 💕🐾👏🏼 Nala is a sweet, affectionate pittie mix who has overcome many challenges in her young life. This girl is an under 2-year-old pup that came to us in September after being rescued from a homeless encampment where she was not treated well. Despite the abuse and neglect she endured, Nala has a heart of gold and so much love to give to all people she surrounds. Nala, a resilient and loving dog, has faced challenges that no canine should ever have to endure. Through no fault of her own, she found herself in another home where she received little attention, leading her to seek out her own entertainment by darting out the front door. This behavior, while understandable given the circumstances, is not something that should be expected of a dog. These behaviors and lack of proper decompression, training and instruction has left her with dog reactivity. She has worked with a trainer and her foster family continues her training.

Meet Nala, the best, most loyal dog anyone could ask for. She was a street puppy my brother gave me 4 years ago and has been my best friend since then. It has been a hard decision to look for her new best friend, but one we feel is best for her. We have a baby due in October and won’t have time for our long walks or trips to the pool for a swim. we also have to spend out winters out of state to help look over my in laws who aren’t in great health. Nala is very obedient and has completed obedience training. She is a loose leash walker, stays in a heel while walking, will place anywhere you ask her to and stay there until she hears her release word “break”. She is a big cuddler and will try and sneak in bed with you in the middle of the night. She is very healthy and has never had any health issues. She isn’t great with dogs she doesn’t know, but is muzzle trained just in case she is ever in a place where dogs would be around. She loves cats, and older children, unsure about younger.

Norman is the best boy. He learns fast, listens well. He is housebroken, with only 1 accident since being at his foster home. He is good on a leash. This guy has had some training in his young life. He walks beside you on the leash and ignores the people he passes. His foster mom still needs to test walking and encountering another dog. He is so mild-mannered that she thinks it will go well. He sits and waits for treats and is very gentle when taking them. He loves to eat; he is a grazer so you can put his bowl down and he will munch all day. If you have other pets, he wants their food too. This is where working on boundaries comes in. He is doing well leaving the kitties or little dogs alone when they don't want to play, but there are times they need to growl to remind him. He gets it and leaves them alone. He is a cuddle bug and loves his people. He follows his foster mom everywhere, so he is learning that it is ok for him to stay by himself. He will go in the cage, he doesn't love it, and when you leave, he cries and barks some. He gets a whimzee and that seems to help. He loves his lambies, and plays gently with they are put in the cage when he goes in. He loves having company and meeting new people and dogs. He is learning not to jump up, and "down" works. He will sit at their feet for pets and praise. He is completely vetted, neutered, microchipped, and ready for adoption. Meet Apollo. Apollo was adopted without my knowledge by my special needs daughter who lives on her own. Her landlord found out and she cannot keep him. Apollo's original owner was shot and killed in his presence so he is a little skiddish around guns. Apollo is a great dog, to be honest I'm quite fond of him but cannot take him as we already have two dogs. He loves to play fetch and tug-o-war. He's good with other dogs and kids. Great on car rides. Needs a little reminding to not go potty in the house. Apollo is super chill and loves to cuddle. He deserves a great life that my daughter cannot give him. I will work on getting better pics to put out here as well, but I wanted to get this listed.
