Story
Oki (named after the state she came from) is a very sweet and cuddly dog with a lot of personality. She knows how to shake, high-five, sit, lay down, spin (both ways), and “hug”. She deserves a great home with a very plentiful life, but our landlord doesn’t allow dogs. She’s can be a bit shy at first, but when she warms up to you she will also warm your heart. I love her and I just want to find a good new home for her because she deserves it.

Was from a suspected dog fighting seizure.Weight: 50# ** $50 has been donated towards my adoption fee by a generous member of our community **Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Does well in WCHS’s active playgroup. ·Kids: UnknownFun Facts About Me:•I am a high-octane boy who is hoping for an active family that will provide exercise, training and structure•My exuberance sometimes gets the best of me and I can get a little mouthy; I need to learn which things are acceptable chew toys•I came from the Sunshine State so I am not a big fan of super cold temperatures; on my potty breaks on frigid days, I make a point of doing my business quickly so we can get back inside•I love to chase balls and run around•I had a rough start to my life and did not have an opportunity to experience many every day items, so I have a lot to discover and explore like stairs and vacuums•I am looking for a family who will be patient and give me the time I need to learn about new things at my own pace•I am a lover-boy with a happy tail and simply want to be a true family member where I can be a faithful companion and sidekick•I have been practicing ‘sit’ and learning the joys of foraging mats and mentally challenging toys#2

Now all I need is you!**Intake Reason: Surrendered, did not get along with other pets in the houseWeight: 47 lbs Known with: ·Cats: Needs to go to a home without cats ·Dogs: Has been selective in WCHS playgroups, has been to dog parks; Would be best as an only pet ·Kids: Did well with children ages 3 to 6 yrs oldFun Facts About Me:•I am a big-hearted friendly gal who is affectionate and am very fond of humans; I will come up and say ‘hi’ when you are near me•I am quite active and athletic so I will need daily physical and mental exercise to be at my best•I love going on walks to explore and commune with nature but must confess that I pull a bit on the leash; my exuberance just comes bursting out•I am comfortable in a crate and in my previous home I had one fixed up real nice with a comfy cozy bed, a couple toys and a long-lasting yummy treat; I would spend time in my little den when I was alone and at bedtime•I am intelligent and know the cues for ‘sit’, ‘come’ and ‘kennel-up’; I would love to do more training with you to increase my vocabulary of human words•I like car rides and loved accompanying my human wherever they went; I was tethered in place so they could concentrate on driving•I am house-trained; my previous person had me on a schedule so that I had plenty of opportunities to get outside•I have been described as quiet and a wee bit stubborn but mostly as “very well behaved”•I am a playful girl and I really enjoy a rousing game of tug#2
