Story
Rusty is an affectionate, easygoing guy who’s thriving in foster care. He settled in right away, picked out a favorite toy from a basket, and made himself at home. He`s a total cuddle bug who follows his foster around like a little shadow and loves to curl up in a lap for naps. He enjoys short bursts of play with squeaky toys, but his favorite thing is working on a pupcicle treat toy. He`s housetrained with no accidents reported and has good leash manners, though he may pull a bit if he spots another dog or wildlife—he’s easily redirected. Rusty rides well in the car with a seatbelt leash and has been calm and polite during outings. He greets new people gently without jumping or barking. He prefers not to share space with other dogs and we`re unsure about cats.

Story
She loves walks, toys, cuddles, baths, great with big and small dogs great around children that are older than 7 years old because of he size and weight but does well with all kids just does not know her own strength. Does not bark unless she thinks it is something to bark at or about. Would do great in a single family home or house hold with other dogs. Mostly an inside dog but loves to be out side, she has trouble staying in our gated fence but stays in her make shift gated space in the house. She is about 1 years and 7 months old and about 70 pounds.

Story
Shasta is an 8-year-old, 41-pound gentle lady with a heart as soft as her expression. She is incredibly sweet and calm, the kind of dog who is happiest simply being near her people and soaking up their presence. She is very easy to get in and out of the kennel and walks beautifully on leash. The only time she shows a little extra enthusiasm is when something exciting passes by. Otherwise, she strolls along at a relaxed pace, happily sniffing and exploring her surroundings. Shasta hops into the car on her own and rides like a pro, settling in comfortably for the trip. She enjoys treats and pup cups but isn’t especially interested in toys or chews—she would much rather spend time with her humans than entertain herself with objects. She knows “sit” and has lovely manners in the home. She settles in nicely indoors and is generally very polite, with only an occasional accident before getting the routine and a clear pattern of going to the bathroom promptly once outside. Shasta clearly understands the routine and does her best to do the right thing. Her favorite activity is leaning into her people for affection. She is perfectly content to sit beside you, gently resting against you while enjoying pets. She does wonderfully with children and happily befriends everyone she meets, greeting people with a soft, friendly demeanor. Shasta is a loving, mellow companion who brings a peaceful presence wherever she goes. She would be a perfect match for someone looking for a calm, affectionate dog who simply wants to be close and share quiet moments together. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

Story
Forest was found barely alive, abandoned in the woods as a tiny puppy. He survived, healed, and was adopted last year. Now, through no fault of his own, he needs help again. Forest is almost a year old and full of life. Playful. Energetic. Loving. All-in. Due to an unexpected military deployment, his adopter can no longer care for him. Forest has already endured more than any pup ever should, and now he is facing the world alone again. Forest is neutered and up to date on all vaccines and vet care. He has boundless enthusiasm for life. He loves to play hard, run fast, learn new things, and then curl up for cuddles. He loves other dogs, though not every dog keeps up with his excitement. He needs space to move, time with people, and someone that loves an active dog. Apply to adopt or foster at FairytaleFarm.org/adopt
