Story
Rusty is an affectionate, easygoing guy who’s thriving in foster care. He settled in right away, picked out a favorite toy from a basket, and made himself at home. He`s a total cuddle bug who follows his foster around like a little shadow and loves to curl up in a lap for naps. He enjoys short bursts of play with squeaky toys, but his favorite thing is working on a pupcicle treat toy. He`s housetrained with no accidents reported and has good leash manners, though he may pull a bit if he spots another dog or wildlife—he’s easily redirected. Rusty rides well in the car with a seatbelt leash and has been calm and polite during outings. He greets new people gently without jumping or barking. He prefers not to share space with other dogs and we`re unsure about cats.

Story
Forest was found barely alive, abandoned in the woods as a tiny puppy. He survived, healed, and was adopted last year. Now, through no fault of his own, he needs help again. Forest is almost a year old and full of life. Playful. Energetic. Loving. All-in. Due to an unexpected military deployment, his adopter can no longer care for him. Forest has already endured more than any pup ever should, and now he is facing the world alone again. Forest is neutered and up to date on all vaccines and vet care. He has boundless enthusiasm for life. He loves to play hard, run fast, learn new things, and then curl up for cuddles. He loves other dogs, though not every dog keeps up with his excitement. He needs space to move, time with people, and someone that loves an active dog. Apply to adopt or foster at FairytaleFarm.org/adopt

Story
Forest is such a fun, happy, adventurous, energetic, cuddle bug of a dog. He has been chosen twice for adoption and both families had to back out due to circumstances that had nothing to do with Forest. But this has delayed his hopes of finding a home and he is so sad to keep being overlooked. He loves other dogs, but they don’t always love him back because he doesn’t understand personal space yet. He is about 6 months old, fully up to date on vaccines and his neuter will be covered. He just needs a place to run and play and then relax and cuddle. Forest also LOVES playing in water. Application on our website or ask us anything! Note: Forest comes with a neuter contract - Fairytale Farm will pay for the neuter surgery and you agree to follow through with the appointment. The vet recommends he is neutered at around 8 months old (September).

Story
I was transferred to OCAS from another shelter. I`m a sweet gal and I have done well with staff handling me at the shelter. I can be a dog selective, meaning I do well with some dogs but not with others. Like all newly adopted pets, I will need slow, monitored introductions to new people or pets in a home. Visit this page for more information about properly introducing pets. Please consider adopting me, I`m a great dog!Foster notes on Megan:`We first stopped by Food Lion to get some canned dog food as a treat. I then drove to my house and she did great in the car just curious and but really wanted to seat beside me in the passenger seat. Megan and I then took a 30 min walk around my neighborhood and within minutes she learned that I didn`t like pulling and she responded with some quick corrections and walked by my side. We then came in side and she was curious about my home and just explored room to room and then enjoyed some food. Then we relaxed and she was respectful and did not come on the couch. We then took another walk and she remembered not to pull. Such a sweet, wonderful, intelligent lady! Very smart, a quick learner and doesn`t pull on the leash.``She is a fully house trained dog and an amazing friend. She came over for a sleepover and had zero accidents, stayed home alone for 4 hours and waited patiently while we prepared her food. She is super trainable in just one day she learned to give her paw, bring her toy and drop it, and to go to her bed. She is super treat motivated but would never jump on a counter to steal food. She loves playing but also sleeps a good amount of time. She would only get on the couch when we invited her over otherwise she would sleep in her bed. She would get on the couch when we were away. She is the cutest pup who is a perfect fit for a home that will give her lots of love! She loves being close to humans and is so mindful of her space. Favorite thing: How fast she learns new commands and that she is very obedient even though she’s young.``She came over for a sleepover and she’s a sweet, cuddly house trained dog who loves hugging you to sleep. She does great home alone and she loves watching Bluey on TV. Sometimes she will pull the lease but stops doing it once you remind her once or twice that you don’t like her pulling. Learns fast especially if you motivate her with a treat. She’s ready to be par

Story
`Roscoe is a big-headed, big-hearted cuddle bug who enjoys a good walk, sniffing games, and the occasional burst of zoomies before settling in as close as possible to his person. He loves puzzle toys, treats, and playtime, knows sit and down, and genuinely enjoys training. He does best with routine and enrichment and can entertain himself, but he’s also very people-focused and affectionate once he feels comfortable. Roscoe can be strong on leash and may pull, so continued leash training will be helpful. He has liked some of the dogs he’s met so far and would benefit from slow, planned, and monitored introductions to new people and pets. He appears housetrained, with some leeway needed during the first few days in a new routine. Roscoe can be a bit anxious at times, especially with car rides or brief separations, but he settles well with reassurance and structure.

Petey was gifted to my mom when he was a puppy (11 years ago). He is house-trained and mild-mannered. When new people come over to visit, he starts wagging his tail and gets excited. He loves going on walks and being outside.
