Story
Jango is a young, energetic 3 year old Staffordshire Terrier mix. This guy is full of life and full of energy. He will need a family that is patient and who will be willing to work with him. He has spent the majority of his life in the shelter and has done very well learning what is the right and wrong things to do. He loves to play. Seems to do well with other dogs. However due to him being a male we are only willing to place him with a female dog that is active and who can put up with his antics. We do not feel that he will do well with cats. Due to his excitement level we would only suggest placing him with kids that are over 12 years old. He is wiggly and doesn’t always know his size. If you are interested in meeting Jango we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. His adoption fee is $250.00, that includes his neuter, being microchipped, and being current on all his vaccinations. All adoptions are done by appointment only, with an approved application on file. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgFebruary 25, 2024, 6:07 am

Head and chin scratches? Yes, please! Otto loves them and just about any affection. At 3 years old, Otto has been described as a gentle giant with a mellow energy. He does love to see his person and will get a bit of the zoomies. He makes sure to tell you how much he loves you with his dog words. All 68 pounds of this boy is pure enjoyment. Otto has the sweetest soul and once he knows you he breaks out of that shell. His timid heart might be shy at first but he does love to play with his person. Otto is dog friendly with big and small dogs. When he meets new dogs his tail wags relaxed and he inquisitively sniffs. He is a good boy and gentleman with new dogs. Otto is easily correctable and needs a handler that isn't too stern. What he really wants is a BIG soft bed and lots of belly rubs! Otto is fostered in Texas and ready for a virtual meet and greet. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Story
Hello, World. Meet Cole!! Currently fosteted in Texas. Elgible for transport to the Pacific Northwest or New England areas early February! Cole is currently about 3 months, 13 pounds old and we think he may be a pittie, lab or Staffordshire mix, but with rescue it is always a bit of a mystery! He is playful and SUPER sweet. He absolutely THRIVES on affection and cuddling is his language of choice. He loves to play with other dogs and his toys and then cuddle up for a nap. He is still pretty young so he will need a patient family that is ready for training, socialization and all of the hard stuff that comes with owning a young puppy. However, he will make up for it with a bunch of kisses! His new family will have to work with her on potty training, crate training, and basic commands. As he gets older, we anticipate he will be a higher energy dog and will likely require physical and mental exercise daily. He will be perfect to take on long walks around the neighborhood! He is still at the age where he can be easily socialized to coexist with children, dogs & cats! Don't miss out on this amazing boy! Story
Once dumped with her sister, Tamera and found hiding in the woods full of fear, Tia is starting to blossom and trust humans again. Tia is a little reserved, but yet curious and playful. She loves to run and play with her sister as well as her foster fur siblings. She likes her chew toys, stuffed squeaker toys and balls. She isn’t picky, she just likes to play. She is going to get bigger, but right now she enjoys being held like a child with her head on your shoulders. She loves the hugging and affection. She loves playtime outside, running around the yard and checking things out. She is crate trained. She has learned what going outside potty is all about and has it all figured out. She does well with a cloth potty pad. She is still having a few accidents in the house, but her foster mom thinks that it’s because of all the excitement in the house with 8 dogs running around barking and playing. Her foster mom will continue to work with her. She was introduced to a cat. She was curious, but didn’t let it faze her. She is good with children and adults once she feels comfortable. Tia is 4 months old. She has been spayed and is UTD on her shots. She has had 3 rounds of dewormer and on heartworm/flea preventative. She shows NO signs of food aggression. She will share her food and her foster mom can pick the bowl up or put her hand in it while she eats. She is on a high quality food and is NOT a picky eater. Her sister’s DNA was tested. Results show them to be a mix of 31% American Staffordshire Terrier, 22% American pit Bull terrier, 21% Australian Shepherd, 13% German Shepherd, 6% Siberian Husky, 2% Alaskan Malamute, 2% Miniature American Shepherd, 2% Staffordshire Bull Terrier, 1% American Bulldog. From her beautiful eyes to her white socks, she is all kinds of adorable! Bottom line, she is a cutie and a sweetheart with a lot of love to give! If you have a lot of love to give and are looking for a puppy to love you back, then Tia is your girl! Story
I’ll warn you, if you are not looking to fall in love with a dog then you might want to stop here because Harper is going for the heart. This girl greets you like an old friend, warm soft eyes and an immediate, full-size hug. From the tail wagging to the eye sparkling, she’s a walking peace & love bringer. Harper doesn’t know a stranger, each and every new person she meets is the chance to make a new friend. She hasn’t failed yet! Each and everyone that has interacted with her since she arrived has become a Harper Fan Club Member, all vying for #1 fan. This girl is good y’all! While you admire her good looks, you’ll notice a few little scrapes and scars, we wont’ know the how and why of those but I know her heart and good-natured soul were shielded from everything. Her heart stays gold! Take a moment to watch her introduction video, it quickly turned into her #1 fans sharing the reason they love her, but you’ll get to see her in action and hear from a few people who already want the moon for her. Harper is estimated to be around 5 years old and in the prime of her life! She weighs in the range of 60-65 lbs and we expect she will settle in right in that range. Her looks and personality lead us to believe she is an Staffordshire terrier/Pit Bull terrier but of course, given she is a rescue, that is simply an educated guess on our part. Harper does well with other dogs and is great with kids. She is even living in a foster home with an 18-month old whom she lets climb all over her and cuddle with her in her crate. She is incredibly tolerant. Her interest in our resident house cat was a bit too strong for us to endorse her living with a cat and that’s okay, not everyone is a cat person. Thanks to her calm nature Harper could easily enjoy apartment or home life. She is crate and house trained, which sets her up for success in a variety of home-life circumstances. Harper is great on leash, happy to stroll at whatever Sunday-pace you choose. No rush or sense of urgency will come from her. Harper has a new chapter ahead and its going to be the best one yet! With every belly rub and cozy nap, Harper is ready to soak in all the love she may have missed out on. If you're looking for a pup that comes full of free hugs and kisses, has a few tales to tell, a heart full of love, and a chill vibe that'll make your days brighter, Harper's your girl. She's not just looking for a home; she is looking for a crew to love-up-on and hopefully make it official before Valentines Day. Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
