Story
Hello my name is Jango I am an American Staffordshire terrier mix and I am around 5 years old and weigh about 60lbs. I have lived the majority of my life in the shelter and that is all I know because of that I most likely am not gonna know how to act right in a house and will need to be potty trained and all that stuff. I would need to go to a home with no cats. I would also probably do better with older kids as I would knock them down because I still jump when I’m excited. I do get along with most dogs but would probably prefer a female dog friend. If you are looking for a loving and smart dog that loves food, toys and going for walks I just might be your guy so please email and get an application. If you are interested in meeting Jango we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. The adoption fee is $250.00, which includes neuter, microchip, flea treatment, deworming and vaccinations. All adoptions are done by appointment only, with an approved application on file. We truly appreciate your interest in helping a dog in need. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgMay 15, 2025, 6:28 am

Story
Lucy's Bio Meet Lucy, a charming female Staffordshire Terrier with a cocoa-colored coat and striking yellow eyes. At approximately 2-3 years old and weighing between 70 to 75 pounds, Lucy is the embodiment of a well-mannered and loving companion, ready to bring joy and warmth to any home. Personality Traits Lucy is the epitome of a gentle and affectionate dog. Her well-trained nature makes her a wonderful indoor companion, as she is extremely well potty trained and loves lounging in a cozy spot. Lucy enjoys being close to her family, often joining them in bed for cuddles. Her gentle demeanor shines through when she accepts treats, taking them delicately from your hand without lunging. Lucy is known for her expressive "hungry eyes" when you eat, but her impeccable manners ensure she never becomes a nuisance. She adores having the middle of her chest rubbed and will gently nudge your arm with her paw when she seeks attention. Training and Abilities Lucy is not only loving but also highly intelligent and well-trained. She knows the seven basic commands: sit, stay, down, come, heel, off, and no. Additionally, she responds to hand signal commands for sit, stay, come, and down. Lucy understands phrases like "not for you," "kennel/inside," and "with me" while on a leash. Although she is generally well-behaved on a leash, she may occasionally pull when excited. Socialization and Play Lucy is a loving and playful companion towards humans and gets along with smaller dogs, though she may be a bit stand-offish with larger dogs. She has a fondness for her toys, especially when playing fetch with a ball. While she knows the "drop it" command, she can sometimes be a bit stubborn, requiring a gentle reminder to release her toys. Care and Protection Lucy is easygoing during bath time, handling it with calmness and grace. Her protective instincts make her an excellent guard dog, vigilant in defending her territory and ensuring the safety of her home and family. With her loving heart and well-mannered nature, Lucy is ready to become a cherished part of your family, bringing joy, protection, and companionship to your life.   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please go to our website   https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/     and fill out an application.
