Story
Jango is a young, energetic 3 year old Staffordshire Terrier mix. This guy is full of life and full of energy. He will need a family that is patient and who will be willing to work with him. He has spent the majority of his life in the shelter and has done very well learning what is the right and wrong things to do. He loves to play. Seems to do well with other dogs. However due to him being a male we are only willing to place him with a female dog that is active and who can put up with his antics. We do not feel that he will do well with cats. Due to his excitement level we would only suggest placing him with kids that are over 12 years old. He is wiggly and doesn’t always know his size. If you are interested in meeting Jango we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. His adoption fee is $250.00, that includes his neuter, being microchipped, and being current on all his vaccinations. All adoptions are done by appointment only, with an approved application on file. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgFebruary 27, 2024, 5:45 am

Hello, World. Meet Cole!! Currently fosteted in Texas. Elgible for transport to the Pacific Northwest or New England areas early February! Cole is currently about 3 months, 19 pounds old and we think he may be a pittie, lab or Staffordshire mix, but with rescue it is always a bit of a mystery! He is playful and SUPER sweet. He absolutely THRIVES on affection and cuddling is his language of choice. He loves to play with other dogs and his toys and then cuddle up for a nap. He is still pretty young so he will need a patient family that is ready for training, socialization and all of the hard stuff that comes with owning a young puppy. However, he will make up for it with a bunch of kisses! His new family will have to work with her on potty training, crate training, and basic commands. As he gets older, we anticipate he will be a higher energy dog and will likely require physical and mental exercise daily. He will be perfect to take on long walks around the neighborhood! He is still at the age where he can be easily socialized to coexist with children, dogs & cats! Don't miss out on this amazing boy! Story
What a great family dog this girl will make!!! She LOVES kids! Chicken LOVES kids. She recently met. a sweet 5 year old boy at the park and her eyes lit up and tail started wagging as soon as he pet her. Watch her video here: https://youtu.be/GKQsiN3-c9w?si=6BFHCePXqFsWp44L What I love about Chicken the most is how in tune she is with you when you give her attention. She will literally walk at a heel to give your hand a kiss and get a pat on the head. Her recall is amazing. She comes trotting toward you to get love. She met my five-year-old son, and acted totally comfortable around him and enjoyed getting attention from him. Chicken is a large senior girl that still has a lot of pep in her step. The vet originally aged her at 10 but we are not sure because she does NOT act ten. This girl loves to run with her person. Chicken would make a great girl for a family who enjoys running, biking and hiking. This girl has not slowed down with her age nor does she look it. Chicken loves going to the river and wading in the water. She is the perfect girl to take along on adventures with. Chicken shows no signs of not being able to hang with an adventurer. She also loves being with her person, so an apartment would be okay if she got the right amount of exercise. Chicken does not want to be left alone in a yard, but to be an integral part of your life. Although she wouldn't mind sunbathing next to you in the yard on a warm day. Chicken Nugget is a confident older girl that does well with other dogs. She isn't incredibly playful but would enjoy a home with another easy going dog. Chicken Nugget is currently in Texas and ready for a virtual meet and greet. We are happy to answer any questions you might have. I’ll warn you, if you are not looking to fall in love with a dog then you might want to stop here because Harper is going for the heart. This girl greets you like an old friend, warm soft eyes and an immediate, full-size hug. From the tail wagging to the eye sparkling, she’s a walking peace & love bringer. Harper doesn’t know a stranger, each and every new person she meets is the chance to make a new friend. She hasn’t failed yet! Each and everyone that has interacted with her since she arrived has become a Harper Fan Club Member, all vying for #1 fan. This girl is good y’all! While you admire her good looks, you’ll notice a few little scrapes and scars, we wont’ know the how and why of those but I know her heart and good-natured soul were shielded from everything. Her heart stays gold! Take a moment to watch her introduction video, it quickly turned into her #1 fans sharing the reason they love her, but you’ll get to see her in action and hear from a few people who already want the moon for her. Harper is estimated to be around 5 years old and in the prime of her life! She weighs in the range of 60-65 lbs and we expect she will settle in right in that range. Her looks and personality lead us to believe she is an Staffordshire terrier/Pit Bull terrier but of course, given she is a rescue, that is simply an educated guess on our part. Harper does well with other dogs and is great with kids. She is even living in a foster home with an 18-month old whom she lets climb all over her and cuddle with her in her crate. She is incredibly tolerant. Her interest in our resident house cat was a bit too strong for us to endorse her living with a cat and that’s okay, not everyone is a cat person. Thanks to her calm nature Harper could easily enjoy apartment or home life. She is crate and house trained, which sets her up for success in a variety of home-life circumstances. Harper is great on leash, happy to stroll at whatever Sunday-pace you choose. No rush or sense of urgency will come from her. Harper has a new chapter ahead and its going to be the best one yet! With every belly rub and cozy nap, Harper is ready to soak in all the love she may have missed out on. If you're looking for a pup that comes full of free hugs and kisses, has a few tales to tell, a heart full of love, and a chill vibe that'll make your days brighter, Harper's your girl. She's not just looking for a home; she is looking for a crew to love-up-on and hopefully make it official before Valentines Day.
