Story
What a great family dog this girl will make!!! She LOVES kids! Always cuddling, gentle, quiet, innocent, and does a happy dance! Chicken LOVES kids. She recently met a sweet 5-year-old boy at the park and her eyes lit up and her tail started wagging as soon as he petted her. Watch her video here: https://youtu.be/GKQsiN3-c9w?si=6BFHCePXqFsWp44L What I love about Chicken the most is how in tune she is with you when you give her attention. She will walk at a heel to kiss your hand and get a pat on the head. Her recall is amazing. She comes trotting toward you to get love. She met my five-year-old son and acted totally comfortable around him, enjoying his attention. This girl loves to run with her person. Chicken would make a great girl for a family who enjoys running, biking, and hiking. This girl has not slowed down with her age nor does she look it. Her favorite event is cuddling near her people. She loves soft blankets, lying near your feet while you work, and cozying into your side on the couch. She doesn't even mind sharing her couch and you with other dogs. Chicken is a large mature girl who still has a lot of pep in her step. We think she is about 7ish years old. Chicken loves going to the river and wading in the water. She is the perfect girl to take along with the family. Chicken shows no signs of not being able to hang with an adventurer. When out at the park she is perfectly behaved. Perfect car rider and easy to handle. Chicken Nugget is a confident older girl who does well with other dogs. She isn't incredibly playful but would enjoy a home with another easy-going dog. Her current foster has a male Staffordshire terrier and she loves to lounge with him on mom's bed. Chicken Nugget is currently in Texas and ready for a virtual meet and greet. We are happy to answer any questions you might have. Story
What I LOVE about DUKE: he is calm, exceptionally loyal, and loving, perfect to take anywhere. Duke’s current foster is a teacher with no other dogs at home. Duke is okay with hanging out in his crate until she gets home. He is fostered in a suburban neighborhood and loves to take walks with his foster for exercise. He also loves couch cuddles! Duke says he would prefer a home with squirrels to chase in a big backyard and a cozy couch to squeeze his 62 pounds into to get his love scratches on. His age is a complete guess. He may be younger. He does not act like a senior. He is mature and laid-back but does not act old at all. We absolutely adore his energy level, and how lovable he is. He is going to make a best friend for someone. " When I took Duke out on the trail this afternoon, he walked beautifully on the leash! There was a dog on the trail that was not on a leash. Yikes! Duke did not react, even though the dog was barking and walking towards us. I had Duke sit and wait patiently until the dog started to walk away with its owner. Duke would check in with me, and we kept walking. He had a great walk!" Duke is an 8-year-old medium-energy sweet soul who loves attention and going places. He went to a restaurant this week and stood patiently next to the table while we ate dinner. He did not jump on people, bark, or do anything embarrassing. He sat for french fries on command, greeted the children, and wagged his tail when every new person came up to say hello. He did not bark or snap towards other dogs. He was a pleasure to have around out in public! His foster mom says, “ My favorite thing about Duke is he is so happy to see me when I get home and after his walk he loves to couch cuddle with me. Duke is also the quietest dog I have ever met and the perfect car rider. Anyone who adopts him will be so lucky!”- Hannah He will jump right into the car and sit in his assigned chair like a perfect gentleman. His manners are impeccable in the car. Fall in love with DUKE: https://youtu.be/NU9U3hKYQ_o When taking him to the park to walk, he was a quiet boy the entire time. He wouldn't have cared if a stranger wanted to say hello. The kids playing loudly in the background didn't bother him at all either. Dogs would stroll by and he would want to meet, but he never once barked or growled at another dog. Now once Duke gets a bit of exercise down, his leash skills of pulling improve well.... until he sees those pesky squirrels. He thinks they secretly torment him!! Duke is dog friendly but being a senior gentleman, he doesn't want to play or rough house. His perfect dog mate would be an easy going female or an older female girl who knows how to relax. Relaxing is Duke's jam! Duke is fostered in Texas! We would love to do a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions about this boy. Story
One of a kind perfect mini-pittie, so funny, sweet and smart. Kid-friendly and SO loving. A forever puppy, a perfect little baby, our special guy, Xander is absolutely ADORED by all that know him. Such a good boy! Eager to please, and highly trainable- Xander is learning to SURF🏄‍♀️ here at the rescue for an upcoming fundraising event! 🌊 Xander loves people, other dogs, treats, spreading joy, being silly. He’s a lovebug too- Xander enjoys couch snuggles, face kisses, and belly rubs. Xander is a bundle of fun and joy, wrapped up in a wiggly 46 pound package. We suspect Xander to be a Staffie, Bulldog mix, but Xander is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are a mystery. Xander is approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 46 lbs, fully grown. The 46 pounds are just chonk, not overall size- Xander is itty bitty. Literally tiny and adorable!! He’s the perfect size to sit in your lap!! Xander is a VERY funny boy, there’s never a dull moment with him, he’s always busy entertaining. Xander’s charm is always “on,” even when he’s relaxing. If Xander sees you coming, he’ll push out his tongue, widen his eyes, or burst into a grin- just to let you know that he sees you, loves you, and would be okay with a little play time! He’s a naturally happy boy, on a mission to spread joy. Xander is a very easy pup to have around, he’s overflowing with joy but mindful of himself and doesn’t knock people over. He’s good on leash. He’s always up for an adventure. He has a very childlike nature to him and it’s so fun to watch the world through his eyes. He’s SO joyful, naturally optimistic, he definitely doesn’t know that he’s in rescue- he thinks he lives with a big weird family. Xander is a gentle treat taker too, he’s really not too pushy about anything, he’s just happy to be around humans! He is super dog friendly! Xander loves to make doggy friends. He’s gets along with small and large dogs, Xander even has a huge 80-pound boy as a best friend. Every time we go to get Xander out of his crate, it is always clean and he is sitting with the tip of his tongue waiting for us. (cue the tears) He doesn't get too excited or start to bark or jump. He waits until you open the crate, leash him up and get him out. This boy has our hearts. We can't decide if it is the dog friendliness, the child friendliness (has been fostered with a 10 and 2 year old, and spent a lot of time with a 3 year old!), the calmness he can bring to a chill evening, his hilarious sense of humor, or the cute little tongue that has us going goo goo over him. We feel great about Xander going to a home with children, a home with one or more dogs, a first time owner, a home body, or even an adventurous family! Xander would enjoy a family that has another playful pup and a backyard suitable for zooming. He loves to be outside, rolling around in the grass, playing fetch, and getting his cardio in. Xander's goofy nature always makes kids laugh. Exceptionally treat motivated and eager to please, Xander is very trainable. Here at the rescue, Xander is already crate trained but may need a reminder about where the appropriate potty places are in a home once in his forever home. Consistency and routine are key once a new dog enters your home! Xander is a great, GREAT dog. He’s been waiting for his forever home for far too long. If you have any interest in adopting this sweet boy, meet him in-person or virtually via video call, and you’ll be sure to fall in love. If you have any questions about Xander, please reach out. We are willing to test Xander Lane with anything you need us to in order to ensure that he’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Hey there! I'm Jessica, your future best friend wrapped in a stunning brindle coat! While I might look like a supermodel, I'm actually a big softie who loves nothing more than snuggling up close—yes, even if I’m a bit larger than your typical lap dog! https://youtu.be/ZWrFkHno6uY I'm a certified couch potato who enjoys lounging around, but don’t be fooled—I still love a good play session! A yard to run and play in sounds like a dream, and daily walks would keep me happy and healthy. I’m a water lover and can't resist splashing in the kiddie pool; with the chance to swim, I'd totally embrace my inner beach bum! When it comes to manners, I've got them! I very rarely bark, don't jump, come when called, and sit when told. Plus, I'm 100% potty trained. I'm mastering basic commands like “sit” and “stay,” and I'm all about those squeaky toys. I'm a social butterfly who loves puppy playgroups and gets along with dogs of all ages and sizes, including my two small dog buddies and my mom's larger dogs. I looove kids and get along wonderfully with my fosters elderly father. But I also appreciate some alone time to chill out and relax. At home, I’m a well-behaved girl, already crate trained however I love laying at your feet and sleeping at the end of the bed. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion to share life’s adventures and cozy moments, I’m your girl. Ready to add some extra joy and cuddles to your life? Let's meet and start our journey together! 🐾❤️ Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/65bfd33b7114afda750a2bd7 Please email elizabethbower@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Story
Presenting Adelaide Cupcake, the family-friendly funny girl! Adelaide has never met a stranger, she’s eager to please and very obedient. She’s a hugger, and an exuberant kisser. She moonlights as a comedian, with her many funny faces, her goofy gait, and her massive, infectious smile! Adelaide is a pittie mix, approximately 5 years old and 73 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. She looks to be a pitbull mixed breed, based on our experience. She absolutely loves water. When we fill up the baby pool, she wants to stick her head in the water hose and play. Her favorite thing is riding in the car though. She absolutely loves to load up and go for rides She sleeps all night in her crate like a good girl and she’s potty trained and well behaved in the house. We put a hat and tee shirt on her and she seemed to like them. She kept the hat on for a long time! She is dog friendly and will play with her doggy friends for short periods of time but most of the time she is off doing her own thing or loving on any human around her. She would do best with other dogs that are moderately playful like her, but will respect when Adelaide when she doesn't want to play. Adelaide is medium energy and would do great in a semi-active family with kids. She does great with kids, as long as the kids are used to big dogs! Adelaide’s favorite outing is a coffee shop date, she loves her pup cups! She also loves park dates that include playing ball, catching treats in the air, and meeting other hikers on the trail! She’s the bestest car rider!! Adelaide is a little bit of a princess when it comes to her walks, she would rather follow her heart than our lead- she’s learning to be led by hand feeding treats as you walk, and does her best walkies on a gentle leader, a specialized type of leash! When you take Adelaide home, we’ll be sure to send a gentle leader with you, so she can put her best foot forward on your first walk together! She is also crate trained and potty trained but may need a reminder about where the appropriate potty places are once in her forever home. We are willing to test Adelaide Cupcake with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. The adoption fee is $750 and includes all vetting per our veterinarian: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery, flea prevention, we inject or give 2-6 months of heartworm preventative, heartworm testing and heartworm treatment if applicable, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there!
