Story
Big Mama is an affectionate, athletic, adventure-loving 3 year old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier mix who enjoys going on walks and meeting new people! Big Mama was a hefty girl when she was found, weighing in at over 70lbs, but she is now back to a healthier weight of around 60lbs. Big Mama was found laying in the middle of the road in a neighborhood before a kind couple decided to save her. Unfortunately, they had a pup who was not good with other dogs and with no plan in place for Big Mama, they had to take her to the local shelter. Being a pittie mix, she was quickly put on the euthanasia list after her stray hold was up. Through the tireless networking of her original finders, we became aware of Big Mama and decided to get her to safety! Big Mama is incredibly people friendly and loves to cuddle. She can be unaware of her size at times, so when she's zooming around the yard at high speeds you'd better watch out! Despite her being overweight, this girl can MOVE! When she was staying at her finder's house in the backyard, she would often jump up on their tall patio table to sunbathe! She loves to lounge around when she's indoors, but once she's outside it's gametime! Big Mama has done well with most of the pups she's met, but she seems to do best around medium to large size male dogs. She tends to be more assertive and dominant with other female dogs which most dogs don't appreciate, so a home with only male dogs would be best for her. While she does enjoy playing with others, she does not need a doggy sibling to live her best life! Big Mama is potty and crate trained, knows sit and shake, is very smart, and is good on a leash. Due to her energy level and being unaware of how big she is, she should ideally go to a home without young children. Big Mama is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.

Story
Sprinkles is a 1-2yr old Staffy Bully mix. He was shy at first, but he has warmed up to be playful and joyous. He loves snuggling, playing with stuffed animals and eating cheese. Unfortunately it was discovered he had a crushed toe, which had to be amputated. This shocked all of us, as he was sweet and carefree in his foster home. He is recovering well and eating bully sticks in his kennel like a pro. He loves people, kids, and all dogs. He is personally offended when strangers don't want to stop and pet him! He's awesome! Story
Hi there, I’m Jethro Gibbs, but you can call me Jethro! If you’re an NCIS fan, you’ll know I’m named after someone pretty awesome—and I promise I live up to it. I’m a happy-go-lucky Staffordshire Terrier, turning 2 in January, and I weigh 67 pounds of pure love and energy. I was found on November 11th, and wow, what a day that was! I stumbled upon some friendly humans, and before they knew it, I hopped right into their car like I belonged there. When they found me, I wasn’t in the best shape—I had fleas, some scars, a painful ear infection, and an infected wound. But they took me to the vet the very next day, and now I’m healthy, neutered, heartworm-free, and up to date on all my vaccines. I’m super playful and love being around other dogs, big or small. I’m crate trained, but I do miss my people when they’re away—I just love being with them so much! I’m also potty trained, know my commands, and am always eager to please. I’m great with kids, though I think I’d do best with bigger ones since I have a lot of energy and might accidentally knock over the little ones. I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving buddy who will shower you with affection, I’m your guy! Will you be my forever family? Story
Kenneth will mesmerize you when you look into his gold colored eyes! Don't let his prematurely white "beard" fool you, he is a young, happy go-lucky kind of guy that just wants to be around you, giving and getting love and affection. Kenneth enjoys daily walks and zooming around the backyard. He does well in a kennel when alone, but prefers to be by your side when you are home. He is a really good bed warmer! He does well with other female dogs of like size, when introduced properly. Is casually okay with other male dogs but he has not been tested off leash. Kenneth is up to date on all his vaccinations, neutered and heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application on our website at www.hhfrescue.org. Thank you for considering a rescued dog!
