Story
We adopted Aria in May after finding her through someone looking to rehome her on Facebook. She came to us with no vet records and was not spayed, so we immediately got her vaccinated and established veterinary care.Aria is incredibly intelligent, eager to please, and very easy to train. She loves her people and learns quickly. She can be cautious around strangers and unfamiliar noises, so she does best with patience and time to build trust.Shortly after we adopted her, she went into heat. Afterward, we had her spayed, and a few days later she developed a phantom pregnancy that we didn’t initially recognize. Her behavior changed significantly, including becoming possessive of a specific toy and protective of her crate. During this period, she bit someone, and our veterinarian confirmed the phantom pregnancy. Her behavior has improved, but the incident has made it difficult for our family to fully regain trust. Aria would thrive with an experienced dog owner.

Story
Meet Sadie Mae — Georgia’s Most Popular Girl! Age: 2.5 years old Weight: 75 pounds Breed: Anatolian Shepherd Dog Friendly: Yes — big and small! Meet Sadie Mae, a gorgeous 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd with a huge heart, a loyal soul, and a personality that has made her one of the most loved girls around. Sadie Mae has been waiting for her forever family since she was a puppy. She’s grown up waiting for someone to finally choose her — and after all this time, we think this beautiful girl deserves exactly the kind of home she’s been dreaming about. Sadie Mae is incredibly loving and devoted to her people. She’s also a natural protector. She likes knowing where her family is, keeping an eye on the house and property, and making sure everybody — two-legged and four-legged — is safe. And don’t let her 75 pounds fool you. Sadie Mae has a wonderfully gentle side, especially with other dogs. She does great with dogs both big and small and currently helps watch over the little dogs around her. One of her very best friends is Anastasia, and the two absolutely love playing together. When she’s off duty from protecting everybody, Sadie Mae loves being outside, playing in the yard and going for long walks. But when the day is over, this big Anatolian has somewhere very specific she wants to be: With her people. Sadie Mae is a couch dog. Sadie Mae is a bed dog. And yes — all 75 pounds of Sadie Mae would very much like to sleep with you. For Sadie, being allowed on the furniture and sleeping with her family isn’t something we want her to lose when she’s adopted. We are looking for a home where dogs are truly part of the family — couches, beds, snuggles and all. If your house has a strict “no dogs on the furniture” rule, Sadie Mae won’t be the right match. She has waited too long for her forever home to finally get one where she isn’t allowed to do the things that make her feel happiest and closest to her people. Sadie Mae is loving, loyal, playful, dog-friendly and naturally protective. She can spend the afternoon playing with her canine friends, keep an eye on everyone she loves, and then climb into bed at night like the world’s largest teddy bear. She’s a protector when you need one, a best friend when you need one, and a bed hog whether you need one or not. Sadie Mae has spent most of her young life waiting. She’s made friends. She’s protected the dogs around her. She’s won the hearts of the people who know her. She’s been loved and cared for while she waits. But she still hasn’t gotten the one thing that every dog deserves: Her own forever family. We don’t want Sadie Mae to simply find a home. We want her to find her home — the one where she is loved for exactly who she is. A home where this big girl can watch over her family during the day, curl up beside them on the couch at night, and climb into bed knowing that tomorrow morning she’ll wake up in the very same place. No more waiting. No more wondering when it will finally be her turn. Just Sadie Mae, her people, her dog friends, her couch, her bed — and the rest of her life exactly where she belongs. Could you be the family she’s been waiting for?

Story
Rosie is a gorgeous 1 year old Australian shepherd mix that was found as a lost girl on 8/14. She is just a doll, super sweet, playful but a little shy. She is currently 39lbs, a great petite size! She is noted to take treats gently, sits when asked and wants to be a lap girl! She does have a little bit of dermatitis due to a likely flea allergy, but once she gets a couple medicated baths she will be good as new. She is up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and spayed; she will be microchipped upon adoption. Come meet your new best friend in kennel 53, her ID is 21771. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. Story
Winston is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his 70-pound frame. At 7 years old, this laid back boy is the perfect match for a family looking for a calm, affectionate companion who’s happiest just lounging around the house. We suspect Winston is a mix of Great Dane , which explains both his size and his sweet, loyal nature. While he’s strong, Winston isn’t the high-energy type, he’d much rather nap in a sunny spot, stretch out under your feet, or army crawl across the carpet (one of his favorite things!). He’ll play a little with other dogs, but he tires quickly and is always happy to get back to relaxing. Winston is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms and responding well. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly preventatives to keep him healthy moving forward. He does well with kids (he loves to be loved) and enjoys canine companions, but he isn’t fond of cats, so his perfect home will be feline free. Winston loves food, soft blankets, and all the affection you’re willing to give, he’s a true cuddlebug at heart. Winston is house and crate trained and finds comfort in napping in his crate when he wants some alone time. Although he is very affectionate, Winston can be quite independent as well. He is a wise older dog that is truly perfect for a family looking for a low maintenance companion. If you're searching for a sweet, low key dog who will bring comfort, companionship, and a whole lot of love into your home, Winston is ready to curl up and be your new best friend. Personality traits Gentle, Independent, Quiet, Curious, Friendly, Couch, Loyal
