But, she will not tolerate a leash so far and does not like to be contained unless it is on her terms. She will go in the kennel with Mac and Paris over night but come morning, she wants out to guard the rescue and be with the people and all the other animals. Meet Molly, a 6-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Pit Bull mix who weighs approximately 93 pounds and is looking for the right home to match her loyal and intelligent personality. Molly was surrendered to our facility after she was not compatible with the other dogs in her previous home. She is very treat-motivated, knows several basic commands, walks well on a leash, and even knows some fun tricks like offering her paw for a Âshake.Â Molly appears to be both housebroken and crate trained, which should help make her transition into a new home smoother. As a middle-aged, extra-large breed dog, Molly prefers a calmer environment and is past the stage of puppy antics. Because of this, she would do best in a home with children 16 years or older, or in an adult-only household. Molly does not do well with female dogs but may coexist with a calm, large-breed male. If you currently have a large male dog in the home, a meet and greet will be required prior to adoption to ensure they are a good match. Molly's adoption fee is $125. Meet Bruce! He’s a handsome 3-year-old neutered male Anatolian Shepherd mix weighing 64 lbs, who came in as a stray on 2/12. Bruce has the most loving, gentle, and calming personality—you can’t help but smile when he’s around. He walks nicely on a leash, takes treats gently, and loves to nuzzle in for plenty of pets and kisses. With his laid-back nature, he enjoys lounging in the sunshine in the play yard or cuddling up for belly rubs. He’s quickly become a staff and shelter favorite, always wagging his tail and waiting for pets when he spots familiar faces. He is patient while being brushed too. Bruce shows little interest in some barking dogs but engages with others, so he may do best as the only dog in the home. If you have another pet, the shelter recommends a dog test.
