Story
Amy has a laid-back, easy-going personality. She’s also somewhat timid. She followed me around seeking comfort from being close. Amy is a 3y old 50 pound Anatolian Shepherd that was brought into the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 2/21. She’s very attractive and soft! To know this girl is to love her! After just a few minutes we bonded and became BFFs. When she first got out into the yard, she just strolled casually around. She’s gentle, calm, well mannered, and friendly without being overbearing. She walked amazingly well on a leash. She walked right along beside me. I see her as being a very loyal, devoted companion. Are you going to be the lucky benefactor all the love she has to share? Because of Amy’s size a yard would be advisable, but because of her softness cuddling in the house would be desirable.

Story
Meet Champ - A Big Heart Looking for the Right Home Champ is a 2-year-old, 71-pound Anatolian Shepherd mix who has been waiting over 326 days (as of 02/20/26) for his forever family. As one of our Diamond Dogs, his adoption fee is just $75 - but the devotion he offers is truly priceless. Champ is deeply people-focused and bonds hard with his person. He thrives on connection and wants to be part of daily life, whether that's structured walks, training time, or relaxing at your feet. He walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys pack walks, and has shown he responds well to consistent guidance and leadership. He's intelligent, eager to learn, and does best with clear boundaries and routine. Champ is playful and energetic, especially outdoors, and would enjoy a home that can match his enthusiasm. He may do well with a carefree, submissive female canine companion, or he may prefer soaking up all the attention as the only dog. He is not suited for homes with cats or small animals. Because of his size, strength, and loyal nature, Champ would do best with older children or adults who are comfortable handling a large dog. He also requires a securely fenced yard (minimum 8-foot fence, no chain link) and should not be left unattended outside. Champ is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm positive, with treatment fully covered thanks to Rockwall PAWS. Champ isn't just looking for a home - he's looking for his person. In the right environment, he will be an incredibly loyal, affectionate companion who gives his whole heart. Apply to adopt Champ here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Champ is ready for his fresh start.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. February 26, 2026, 1:54 pm

Story
Meet Molly, a 6-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Pit Bull mix who weighs approximately 93 pounds and is looking for the right home to match her loyal and intelligent personality. Molly was surrendered to our facility after she was not compatible with the other dogs in her previous home. She is very treat-motivated, knows several basic commands, walks well on a leash, and even knows some fun tricks like offering her paw for a &#194&#147shake.&#194&#148 Molly appears to be both housebroken and crate trained, which should help make her transition into a new home smoother. As a middle-aged, extra-large breed dog, Molly prefers a calmer environment and is past the stage of puppy antics. Because of this, she would do best in a home with children 16 years or older, or in an adult-only household. Molly does not do well with female dogs but may coexist with a calm, large-breed male. If you currently have a large male dog in the home, a meet and greet will be required prior to adoption to ensure they are a good match. Molly's adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, current on her rabies vaccination, and up to date on basic boosters. If you are interested in meeting Molly, please submit an adoption application at https://rockwalladoptions.com/our-pets/available-dogs/  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Story
Meet Chance – The Gentle Giant with a Heart Full of Hope Chance is a 11-month-old Anatolian Shepherd/pyrenees mix who embodies everything we love about the breed—loyal, gentle, calm, and deeply loving. He’s great with dogs of all sizes, wonderful with children, and even gets along beautifully with cats and livestock. With his easygoing temperament, Chance is the kind of dog who brings a quiet strength and steady presence to any home. He enjoys affection and will happily accept your love, but he’s also content doing his own thing, making him the perfect balance of independence and companionship. Chance didn’t have the easiest start in life. He was found as a tiny, underweight puppy—his body covered in parasites and his skin painfully inflamed from mites. But with proper care, patience, and love, he healed quickly and has blossomed into the beautiful, resilient boy he is today. Now, Chance is ready for the one thing he’s never had: a forever family who will love and protect him the way he deserves. Story
Hi, I’m Hopper — and I’m ready to bounce into your life! I’m a 1 year old Anatolian Shepherd mix with a big heart, a goofy smile, and a tail that never stops wagging. They named me Hopper because I’ve got a little spring in my step and a whole lot of love in my soul. I’m the full package: friendly, loving, loyal, and full of fun. I love meeting new people, I’m great with other dogs and kids, and I’ve got just the right mix of playful energy and laid-back charm. Two of my favorite things? Going for walks and splashing in the water — seriously, if there’s a puddle, a kiddie pool, or a stream nearby, count me in! Whether we’re on the move or hanging out at home, I’m just happy to be by your side. &#226&#156&#168 A few things about me: &#226&#156&#133 Young & full of life &#226&#156&#133 Neutered &#226&#156&#133 Up to date on vaccines &#226&#156&#133 Microchipped Take treats gently Great with dogs and kids Super friendly with new people ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 Love walks and adventures Splashing in the water is my jam &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Loyal, loving, and ready to bond for life I may be young, but I’m already dreaming of a forever home — one with people who will love me for who I am and help me keep growing into the amazing dog I’m meant to be. Think we’re a match? I’ll be the one wagging at the kennel door, hoping today’s the day I go home. Love, HopperNovember 29, 2025, 6:17 pm
