Story
Animal Profile: Sansa is an estimated 8-month-old spayed female Malinois mix who is so itty bitty at just 28 lbs -- she has to be mixed with something smaller! She was taken in as a stray by Los Angeles Animal Services and transferred to our friends at Paws for Life K9 where she was assessed to be super friendly, sweet and social with all dogs and people. She's a young and smart girl who will blossom in foster care; we will share more as we get to know her.  Foster Update: Sansa is such a sweet, fun and trainable dog. After a rough start with crate/potty training she is doing great now! She is affectionate and playful, energetic and friendly. She does great with the resident dog and is learning basic obedience, walking on a leash, etc. She will be a great addition to an active person or family who wants a young, friendly, athletic and intelligent companion.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application&#226&#128&#139 Animal History: This dog was transferred from Paws for Life K9 Rescue in Los Angeles after being taken in as a stray to Los Angeles Animal Services. She will be arriving to DGS on May 3 and available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. June 2, 2023, 1:57 pm

Story
Please note that we are a TX based rescue that transports our dogs once they are adopted. ALL our dogs reside in foster homes in TX. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Mallory - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Mallory is a beautiful 3-year-old Belgian Malinois blend who weighs approximately 70 pounds. Maybe since Mallory is a little older (and/or because of what she is mixed with) she is calmer than most Mals. She is a little leery when she meets new people, but once you pass her test, she will melt your heart with her sweetness. She strives to please. She loves to cuddle, play and even to be brushed. She needs to be in a home where she is very much a part of the family because she wants to be near her favorite person. She doesn't realize her size, as she loves to cuddle in bed if there is room. :)` Malinois' are not for everybody but in the right home they can make for a pawsome family member. A Belgian Malinois is an enthusiastic and quick dog with a natural tendency to always be in motion. This breed is demanding and needs an experienced owner. The Belgian Malinois is a very smart and obedient dog. They can have strong protective and territorial instincts. This breed needs extensive socialization from an early age, and firm, but not harsh, training. Belgians are instinctively protective so they should be trained and socialized very well from an early age. Unless you are specifically working in a protection sport, you do not need to give your Belgian any protection training, as it will come naturally to them. Belgians make excellent pets for the right homes, as they thrive on loving companionship. They instinctively display herding behavior such as chasing and circling, moving effortlessly for hours. Mallory needs a family that will keep her engaged with their activities, adventures and their everyday living routines. If she sounds like the perfect companion for you, please fill out her adoption application to make her a member of your family!!

Story
Meet Rocket, a 1 1/2-2 year old male Belgian Malinois/GSD mix who lives up to his name! He is a high energy working breed, and is looking for a loving and experienced forever home. In the right home he will thrive and be a wonderful companion! Rocket is as smart as a whip and quick to respond to corrections. So long as he gets enough exercise and stimulation, he can be left alone in a secure yard or indoors without getting into anything. Rocket has a lot of energy that he needs help channeling in the right ways, as typical working breeds do. Rocket has been taught to run with a bike and would love to run along side his owner while they go for a bike ride! He's still learning the right/left/stop commands but is making good progress with them. He would make a great hiking or running partner as well! He will require a GSD or Malinois experienced home, that knows how to train, exercise and work with the breed. Rocket sleeps soundly through the night. He'll play fetch with a ball and loves to play really intense tug of war. He's already picked up a bit of scent training, with truffle oil being the targeted scent. He's most comfortable inside by far and prefers to play and hang out indoors, but he has made a lot of progress with his confidence outside, and will play in the yard for a while now before asking to go back inside. Rocket is potty trained, microchipped, UTD on shots and neutered. Rocket can be reactive around other dogs and needs to the only dog in the home. With training and structure, over time his reactivity could improve. Due to his energy and breed, he needs a home with kids over 16 or adult only. No cats. You can apply for Rocket on our website. His adoption fee is $350.

Story
Adoptable Junnie! Junnie is a young male Malinois mix who is looking for his forever home! Junnie is a happy and sweet boy and loves to play and be active! He will require a very active family that has experience with working breeds. He would make a great running/ hiking partner, and LOVES to play fetch. He needs to be mentally and physically stimulated so he would also do great with agility, games and nose work. Junnie is still learning how to socialize with other dogs and can be reactive and mouthy, as Malinois are, with other dogs. He needs to be the only dog in the home but with training and support could be fine around other dogs out and about. He will require a home with a fenced yard, no apartments. Junnie is not tested with kids but since he still needs to catch up on training and can be jumpy, he would be best in a home with older kids or adults. No cats. Junnie is on the wait list to be neutered and will be neutered prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $400. Please apply on our website if you feel he is a good fit for you.

Story
Meet Rugby! Rugby is a Belgian Malinois/Retriever mix who weighs about 80lbs and has a lot of love to give. Rugby is a pretty mellow guy for his age and loves to wander around the back yard smelling everything and bathe in the sun. Rugby loves his foster siblings and plays with them every chance he gets. He has a very goofy personality and even the slightest eye contact with him he starts wagging his tail in a giant circle. He loves to give kisses and will shove his head under your arm just to get some love. We also just learned that he can howl when his foster siblings get going! Rugby does have a little bit of separation anxiety but we have been working with him and started him on some anti-anxiety medication that has made a world of difference for him. Rugby really wants someone who loves him as much as he loves them. He aims to please and can provide him with the structure that he needs to really show his true potential. He does well with everyone but is hesitant around some men and needs some time to get used to them. He would also prefer a home with older children as he can get a little freaked out and bark at younger children and their unpredictable behavior. Though Rugby is crate trained, he would much prefer to be with his people over the crate. Rugby is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative. Rugby is currently in a foster home in the Seattle, WA area and is looking for a home to call his own. If you are interested in Rugby, please fill out an application here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDRS/Dog

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Griswold used to be locked in a car without adequate food/water care or treatment. He was treated badly but not traumatized permanently. He is believed to be approx 2 years old. Recently neutered and shots/microchip. He's quite the active pup! He was a bit barky outdoors which has improved dramaticallysince I got him. He's VERY well behaved indoors. I appears that he had very good guidance with a previous owner. He is extremely smart and eager to learn. He very much wants to please his human, but he is needy of attention so boundaries must be kept in place. He isn't too fond of yelling but he behaves VERY well with calm, kind and patient guidance. He is quite obedient with not much effort on my part. He needs daily cardio exercise. He has a lot of energy. Tennis ball is his favorite game! Needs more socialization experience but dog park encounters have been great once he calms down before going in :) He needs room to run and play daily! I've had him since 12/27/22.

Story
Animal Profile: Kimber is a beautiful 3-year-old, 54 lb female German Shepherd who was found wandering as a stray and taken to Everett Animal Shelter. When the shelter environment was too stressful for her, we gave her a "jail break" and she's now in our foster care. Foster Update: Kimber is affectionate and bonds quickly with her person. She is looking for an adopter who is experienced with high-energy dogs and is willing to continue working with her. She loves lounging in the house watching out the windows. Her ideal home environment would be an adult only household with working breed experience and a securely fenced yard. Shes completed a 4 week board and train program with Lugaru K9 Training to address leash reactivity. Kimber can now walk nicely on leash, and knows the following commands: sit, down, place, heel and leave it. She's not a candidate for dog parks as she easily gets over aroused and needs slow intros to other dogs.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-applicationJune 2, 2023, 1:57 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Verina is a 4-year-old, 70 lb female German Shepherd who was transferred to our rescue from Whatcom Humane Society. She lost her previous home when her family had to move due to a military assignment and they were unable to bring her along. Foster Updates: Verina, or Vi for short, is an active girl who loves to play. The bigger the stick, the better, in her opinion! When she first arrived in foster care we noticed a few things that made us think she might be deaf. A vet visit confirmed our suspicions, but you wouldn't know that when you first meet her. Verina is very interested in engaging with her people, and loves going for long walks on the property and playing fetch. She could entertain herself for hours outside, and would love to live somewhere she could enjoy her own yard. She is working on her leash manners, and has come a long way with a training collar. She has a good heel position and she makes lots of eye contact with her handler -- whoever is holding the leash -- for guidance in new situations. Vi knows the "place" and "crate" command as well as "sit" and "down". She can be tentative when first meeting new people, but once she opens up you can see her spirit shine. Verina currently lives with another female dog, but is not interested in interaction as she is very people focused. She is working on learning sign language for her commands, and catches on very quickly. Verina will make a loving and loyal companion in her forever home! Adopter Profile: Verina is looking for a family with German Shepherd or working dog experience. She needs to live in a single dog, adult only household with a securely fenced yard. She would love to live with someone that worked from home. Deaf dog experience a plus! Adoption Info:  Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, all core vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a federal 501c3 organization.  Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Major was a transfer from Everett Animal Shelter. Animal History: Verina was transferred to Dog Gone Seattle from Whatcom Humane Society.  June 2, 2023, 1:57 pm
