Iris is a darling pound cattle dog that is perfect for a semi-active home. Iris is good with other dogs her size and smaller. She came to us after she landed in the Ventura City Shelter where she had 5 puppies. Iris does need some more work with her manners as she gets excited and can be a little overwhelming. She is a true cattle dog and if something runs, she is interested in case. Due to this we recommend kids over ten years of age in her forever home, and cats would be a caution. She is such a good dog that really needs someone to guide her in the life. She wants a master and will be eternally thankful for head scratches. Bobbi was found begging for food at a truck stop. He had been there for a couple of weeks before our friends at HOPE FOR PAWS was altered to the situation. They quickly went out to trap him and get him the vet care he needed. He was not neutered, no collar and had broken 2 of his canines that needed to be pulled. He is generally okay with other dogs but his foster has found that he can be a little pissy if he feels he needs to compete for human affection. We’re still figuring out what would be best, only dog or part of a pack. He’s fairly calm, unlike most cattle dogs. He doesn’t seem to need a job other than being your loyal companion/shadow. He’s so sweet!
