Story
Ranger is a 4.5yr old Mini (25lbs) Australian Cattle Dog who was adopted at 11wks of age; face still swollen from a dog bite wound sustained around 7wks of age. With lots of TLC & a few specialist visits, Ranger made a full recovery but displayed mild fearful/anxious behavior (fear-based reactivity) thereafter. Ranger’s reactivity has become manageable with the help from his dedicated family and guidance from a board-certified Animal Behaviorist (and MANY hours of high-level training/desensitization). In the home, he is a sweet, playful & goofy dog who loves to sleep on the couch or in his crate. He will always be wary of strangers but is extremely smart, food motivated and eager to please and doesn’t have any destructive habits like chewing household items, marking, excessive barking or seperation anxiety. He is comfortable in the car and is not bothered by fireworks. He is the “ultimate road-dog”; down to go anywhere with you and makes an excellent running/hiking companion.

Story
Peri is a 9 month old Australian cattle/German shepherd mix. She was abandoned and found near Arlington Heights, closed in the gated area of a small apartment complex. I took her to the vet for a check up and she received a clean bill of health. The vet was also able to tell that she had puppies a couple months ago and was most likely breed then dumped. Despite her difficult start she is really a sweet and loving dog. She loves to cuddle and give kisses and play. She knows basic commands like sit, down, stay and paw. She's incredibly smart and eager to learn.

Story
Meet Detective Cooper Jenkins — our sweet, goofy, loyal Australian Cattle Dog/German Shepherd mix who we rescued from No Kill LA at 4 months old. He’s the ultimate “Velcro dog,” happiest when he’s glued to your side, following you from room to room with his big loving eyes. Cooper is incredibly smart, affectionate, and full of playful energy. Give him a tennis ball or space to run and he’ll happily sprint and fetch for hours. He currently lives with another dog (they’re two peas in a pod), though he can be reactive with unfamiliar dogs. With consistency and training, we believe this can continue to improve and we’re happy to share more of his story. Cooper will thrive with someone active—daily walks, a yard, hikes, or playtime are his jam. If you’re looking for a warm, devoted, endlessly loving companion who wants to be your adventure buddy and shadow, Cooper might just be your perfect match.

Story
OSO – Male Cattle Dog/Carolina Dog Mix | 6 Years Old DOB: 11/04/2019 | 36 lbs | Healthy, Vaccinated & Neutered Meet Oso, the loyal, gentle-hearted companion you’ve been searching for! With his kind eyes and steady spirit, Oso is that perfect blend of courage and calm. He’s smart, affectionate, and happiest when he’s near his people — whether that’s enjoying a cozy evening at home or exploring the great outdoors together. Oso is the kind of dog who listens, bonds deeply, and brings peace and joy wherever he goes. Breed Info: Cattle Dogs and Carolina Dogs are both intelligent, loyal, and active breeds. They thrive on companionship, structure, and purpose. Known for their problem-solving skills and devotion, they make incredible family dogs for those who enjoy a mix of adventure and quiet connection. Owner Responsibilities: Oso’s ideal adopter is someone who values routine, communication, and daily connection. He’ll need regular exercise, mental stimulation, and plenty of love. Continue positive training, feed a balanced diet, and give him a soft place to rest — and you’ll have a best friend for life. Things to Consider Before Adopting: Do you have the time and energy for daily walks and companionship? Is your landlord pet-friendly, and do you have space for a medium-sized dog? Are you settled enough to commit to a lifelong friend through every season? Dogs are family — they depend on you, through joy and change alike. Vet Care: Oso is healthy, vaccinated, and neutered — but even though he’s in great shape, please take him to your trusted vet soon after adoption to establish ongoing care and keep him thriving. The 3-3-3 Rule & Commitment for Life: The first 3 days are for decompressing — everything is new, so give him space and reassurance. The first 3 weeks are when he’ll start learning your home, your schedule, and your heart. The first 3 months are when trust blossoms, and he’ll know he’s truly home. Adopting a dog is a promise — one filled with love, laughter, and a bond that lasts a lifetime. Why Oso Would Be a Great Addition: Oso’s calm yet joyful spirit will melt your heart every single day. He’s a steady friend, a loyal shadow, and a source of unconditional love. With Oso by your side, your home will feel warmer, your days fuller, and your heart forever changed. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue.
