Story
Rascal is an Australian cattle dog mix (a tall one!) that is ~60 lbs and estimated to be around 2 years old. He's neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, housebroken and crate-trained. He was DNA tested and results showed 40% cattle dog (mixed with breeds like rottweiler and german-shepherd). He's a beautiful, unique-looking dog. Rascal is intelligent and very eager to learn, which makes training him fun! He is very praise-driven and also food-motivated. He's also goofy, affectionate, and playful with humans. I have been fostering him for over 4 months and he's learning to enter and exit the car with cues, wait for meals patiently in his crate, "leave it" cue, and loves to be a "helper" by carrying stuff around the house and supervising chores lol He also loves car rides! He would do well in a home that will give him structure and consistency and wants an adventure buddy to bring along on hikes and long walks. He would also do well in a home with a large older dog to show him the ropes.

Story
Please contact Suzanne (catsfordays@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Cattle Dog mix07/19/2023 We would like you to meet Fifi. She is a 1.5 - 2 year old red heeler (cattle dog) mix. She was abandoned when her original owners moved. Homeless she roamed the streets for months and nobody took her in. One day she gave birth to 5 puppies in someone's front yard. Animal control was called and we were notified as well. We were given 4 hours before she would have ended up in the shelter. There her faith would have been not in her or her pups favor.  So we opened our home for her to raise her pups. She was an excellent mom and took great care of her babies. All puppies have been adopted and now it is time to find her her forever home. She is shy at first but once warmed up she won't leave your side. She gets along with small and medium size dogs (never been around large dogs that we know of).  Are you the one who will give her the home she deserves? This girl is craving all the love. Please let us know if you are interested and want to meet her.   We are a small rescue run solely by volunteers and rely on donations alone to survive. All major medical and emergency care comes out of our own pockets. We never put an animal down because of cost, no matter how high. Every fur baby deserves a chance at a better life. If you cannot adopt, please consider a small donation to help keep us going!!! -- Saving Just One Cat Won't Change The World But It Will Surely Change The World Of One Cat! Please Give...So They Can Live.    IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS LITTLE ANGEL PLEASE CONTACT HIS/HER FOSTER MOM SUZANNE:  Text at 310-569-8404 or email her at catsfordays@gmail.com Or come see us as PetSmart 4550 West Pico Blvd, Los Angeles CA on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to  4 or 5 pm. - -October 16, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
Meet Birdie! A sensitive and stunning three-and-a-half-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix from Los Angeles, CA, whose brilliant red mottled coat and expressive eyes reflect a spirit as deep as it is determined. Birdie is the kind of girl who could write a memoir on resilience and self-growth. After spending over a year in a shelter, she’s made tremendous progress and now thrives with daily structure, gentle guidance, and lots of love. This intelligent, medium-sized explorer (about 55 lbs of curiosity and cuddles) has blossomed with the help of weekly force-free training and consistent care—and she's ready to bring that same dedication to a new family. She's a trick enthusiast—whether it’s “put it in the box,” leash-fixing on command, or offering her left or right paw, Birdie loves to perform for her favorite people (especially if she has an audience!). Her ideal day includes hiking wooded trails, wading through streams, grazing in the grass, and rolling gleefully on dried sweet potatoes. When the adventure winds down, she’s all about snuggling, brushing sessions, and curling up upside down with a big, cow-like sigh of contentment. Birdie has a sweet and playful nature and gets along well with most other dogs, both big and small. She's done especially well with familiar canine friends and lights up into a wiggly goofball when she sees someone she loves. That said, Birdie has a documented bite history, including several inhibited nips in high-stress or overstimulating situations. These occurred during her initial transition out of the shelter—before her caregivers fully understood her triggers. They involved unfamiliar guests entering the home unexpectedly, fast-moving children, and surprise interactions with visitors. Importantly, none of the incidents resulted in punctures, and all have been manageable through proactive, thoughtful management and training. Since then, her behavior has improved significantly with professional guidance and a consistent, structured routine. She’s fully crate- and house-trained, walks beautifully on leash, has excellent recall, and is now even easing off her anxiety medication thanks to all her progress! She may need a little extra support in high-energy or unfamiliar situations, but with the right caregiver—one who understands working breeds and offers calm leadership—Birdie shines! Birdie is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She is most compatible with a family who works from home, has a fenced yard, and enjoys outdoor adventures as much as she does. While she hasn't met many cats, she's generally friendly with other dogs and appreciates slow introductions. We’re including a full month of behavioral guidance from our consultant to help Birdie settle in. Her new family will have compassionate support every step of the way to feel confident, connected, and at home. Ready to welcome a soulful sidekick with a heart as big as her smile? Birdie might just be the perfect match for your pack! Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more.

Story
Kiara is going to be four years old on July 12th she was a gift to us from a family friend that breeds Australian shepherds and German shepherds but Kiara was born not a full breed so they were giving her away. She’s been our baby ever since she’s sweet and loves on her human siblings so much. She loves cuddles and kisses. She’s active and loves walks she’s an indoor dog so she gets so happy to be outside she needs someone that will match her energy. Someone that will love her for her. Someone that will give her the time of day. Kiara is an indoor dog but lived half a year with our parents outdoors and was perfectly fine. She can transition easily indoor to outdoor she’s very smart. She learns very quickly. We recently moved and unfortunately we can’t keep her in these apartments and we refuse to drop her off at a shelter.

Story
Karma is a resilient and loving dog with an incredible story. Born in Indonesia, he and his sister were rescued as puppies by his family. After facing hardship during COVID—including the tragic loss of his sister—Karma made the journey to the U.S. True to his street-dog roots, he thrives in wide-open spaces. He loves spending his days exploring outdoors and returns home to eat and sleep. While affectionate and loyal, he struggles with being confined indoors and needs a home where he can roam freely in a secure, spacious environment—a house with a large yard or rural setting would be ideal. Karma adores hiking with his owner, other dogs and would do best with canine companions. Due to an upcoming family move abroad, his owners are heartbroken but determined to find him a home where he can live his best, most adventurous life.
