I came out of a shelter in Georgia, but everything changed when I got rescued. Now I’m safe. I’m loved. I’m ready to find a real family who wants a best friend. I’m about 24 pounds now, and even when I fill out, I’ll probably stay in the 30 to 40 pound range. That’s small enough for your lap but sturdy enough for your adventures. People say I might be a mix of fox terrier, cattle dog, and pointer. That means I’m smart, loyal, playful, and curious. I’m young and still figuring things out. I love to explore, I love people, and I’m clean in my kennel. I used to panic on the leash and flop around like I was in a drama class, but I’ve gotten way better. These days, I just want to go out and sniff the world. With other dogs, I bring the party. I’ve got puppy energy and I play hard. Some dogs love it. Others tell me to chill, and I don’t always pick up on that right away. I do best when someone steps in and gives me a reset. I don’t mean harm. I just get excited. Cats? Yeah, I’m not the best match for them. Sometimes new stuff makes me nervous, especially the vet or being crated. I can get mouthy when I feel trapped. But when I know I’m safe, I settle right in and show my soft side. What I need is someone with a kind heart and a strong voice. Someone who will help me stay busy and teach me how to be the best version of me. If you’re the kind of person who sees potential and sticks around to see it bloom, we might be meant for each other. He’ll need a caring foster or adopter who can help manage his mobility with gentle at-home treatments like red light and massage therapy, along with pain medication on days he needs extra support. But don’t let that fool you—his spirit is as bright and loving as ever. Merrick may not run marathons, but he will run straight into your heart. Story
Diego is about 7 years old but has the heart of a puppy. If it were up to him, he would lie on someone all day long while they pet him and kiss him on the head. He is about the most affectionate and loving animal I have ever met! He is very smart and sensitive as well as a blast to play with. I think the only thing Diego enjoys more than hugs and kisses is getting to play with children! My father brought him home as a puppy years ago but due to my father’s age and disability, he is unfortunately no longer able to care for his boys (he also has a dog named Dante). His house has become unlivable and it is no longer safe for anyone to stay so we are looking to rehome Diego *immediately*. He would be a wonderful addition to any loving home.

Dante is roughly 8 or 9 years old and has a huge personality. He is a little timid with new people but once he settles down he is the most loyal and loving dog! My father rescued him 7 or so years ago and Dante has been an incredible addition to the family. Due to their home becoming recently unlivable and my father being elderly and disabled and no longer able to care for himself of the dogs, we have to unfortunately rehome Dante (as well as his other dog, Diego). Dante is the kind of dog that you can sit and have a conversation with and he will just melt into your arms while you tell him how handsome he is. If this were not a dire emergency situation, we would never in a million years consider giving up this good boy but it is in his own best interest to find a warm and loving home to nurture and care for him.

Meet Indie, a 3-year-old aussie mix with the cutest ears and smile. Indie enjoys playing with toys and getting yummy treats. She also loves fetch! Indie loves to go on walks with the volunteers and enjoys running in the yard, as well. When we sit down with she just wants to climb into our lap and give kisses while she gets pets!In September of 2023, Indie had surgery to correct an issue with a luxating patella and is fully healed and doing great! She's back to running around and playing like before. She is about 40lbs now and can likely stand to lose some of the weight she had gained while on cage rest.Indie is a herding breed, so as always, we strongly encourage anyone interested in her to research these types of dogs. Indie hasn't shown herself to be a big fan of other dogs during her time with us, so she will need to be an only pet! She promises to provide lots of love and laughter to her forever family!Indie's adoption fee has been fully sponsored by a generous donor!
