Story
This is Eros! He is around 8-9 years old! He weighs about 28 pounds at the current time. The reason we are rehoming him is due to some behavioral issues with house training. He’s always had this issue since we originally adopted him back in 2020. Originally this wasn’t a major issue and my husband and I were able to handle this issue pretty decently. However, I became pregnant in October of this past year and his issues have just seemed to gotten out of hand. No matter how much we scheduled his water intake, or how much of schedule he was on when my husband and I were home from work, he just couldn’t seem to hold it in. As of 2022 he had no Cushings disease or diabetes, but it wouldn’t hurt to get him tested again. My husband and I wanted so badly for him to get better but with my preeclampsia and the amount of stress this puts on me, and for the baby’s sake, it is not a healthy fit for us anymore. It breaks our hearts and was the last thing we wanted to do. We are about 80% sure he has some slight separation anxiety as I use to work from home until around March 2025 last year. He is usually home alone around 5-8 hours and is a hit or miss with soiling his crate. He was good at my parents home that had no yard but not 100% trust worthy to leave unattended. I would definitely recommend a fenced yard but he is alright with one that’s not fenced in. He is good with cats and other dogs. He is a little timid around men, (and new people in general ) but he will warm up. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $150. Flynn is a 1-year-old mix of some of the smartest, most loyal working breeds out there—Australian Cattle Dog, Husky, English Shepherd, Australian Shepherd, and Border Collie—which basically means he’s equal parts brilliant, active, and deeply devoted 🤍 He came to us as a stray back in September with his brother, who has since been adopted. Flynn likes to take a moment to assess new people or situations before deciding he’s all in—and once he is… he really is. He forms strong bonds with his people and naturally wants to look out for them and his home, making him a loyal companion who just needs a little help continuing to build confidence in the world around him. Flynn is house trained, highly dog-friendly, and absolutely thrives when he has space to run—he loves being out in the yard and staying active. Because of his breed mix, he’ll do best in a home that understands working dogs and can provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation. He would benefit from continued confidence-building and positive training to help him feel his best in new situations, but he’s already a smart, capable dog who wants to learn and connect. We don't feel that he would do best with young children as he's still learning himself. Flynn may not be the type to immediately demand attention from everyone he meets, but give him a little time and consistency, and you’ll discover a loyal, intelligent, and loving dog who will be right by your side every step of the way 💛
