Mila is a beautiful, 11 yr old, tan & white cattle dog mix whose string of bad luck is about to end.  Despite being failed by multiple humans in her life, Mila's heart is so good and she is one of the sweetest dogs.  She adores all humans, big or small.  She has become a staff and volunteer favorite because she's such great company in the lobby.  She enjoys belly rubs, toys, chews and will curl up in the lobby blankets and watch a movie on a tablet.  No one would guess her age because she's so playful, loves to go on long walks and is up for adventures.  Mila has a strong prey drive and we suspect she's sustained some past trauma involving other dogs because she goes into self protection mode.  Therefore, she cannot be around any other animals.  But that's ok because Mila has so much love and companionship to offer her forever family that she will fill their hearts to full.  Mila has many great years ahead of her and we know her perfect family is out there.   The adoption fee is $200 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days. Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family and pets for a meet and greet. Danni is a 4 year old Cattle dog mix who is training to play ball for the major leagues one day. Her preferred pawrent would throw a ball for her all day long.  Her foster dad is encouraging her to expand her horizons and she is now enjoying long walks, squeeky toys, butt scratches, belly rubs and cuddles on the couch and bed.  She has mastered basic commands like "sit" and will now "wait" before eating her meal or exiting.  They are working on "paw", "lay" and "stay".  She appears to be potty trained and has not had any accidents in her foster home.  Danni had some past resource guarding tendencies so she should not go to a home with smaller kids.  She does tend to startle with loud noises and requires reassurance to settle down and relax in the car.  She does not seem to like other dogs but if her foster dad has her engaged in a game of fetch she is able to ignore the neighbor's dog barking at her. While Danni may be a bit anxious at first, she connects deeply with humans who show her compassion, patience, attention and have a good arm! Apply to meet Danni and she may do her spin excited dance for you! The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. Winston - Deaf Dogs Hear with Their Hearts Hello world I'm Winston....please don't mind me as I practice my sign language! You see, I'm hearing impaired, but I am super smart so I use hand signs to communicate! I have been waiting a while for my perfect home, but I will be a great companion once I find the right match. I will need SEVERAL MEETS before adoption, as I am people selective and it takes me a bit to get to know and trust someone. I'm a two year old who is a happy, handsome fella with gorgeous baby blues and would love to be someone's one and only. Once I trust them, I'd love for them to take me on walks/runs, play fetch, toss me toys, snuggle with me and teach me new commands! I do have a few requirements, though: I NEED A FENCED IN YARD, AN EXPERIENCED OWNER AND MUST BE AN ONLY DOG. So, if you have enough time, patience, dogs skills and can go slow with me, I will learn to trust you and be your loyal forever boy. No apartments please! Also, small children make me really nervous as I can't hear them so teenagers and adults only. I also prefer a house that won't be active with too many strangers coming and going but am crate trained, if needed. I currently living with a trainer and she loves me so much that she will provide continued training help for my whole life! I haven't had many good experiences in my life yet, so I'd love to be your loyal best new friend, if you have time to devote to me! Want to meet me and see how amazing we can be together? Meet Tango a 10 month old Shephard/cattle dog mix born in March of 2024. This cute little man  is a bit shy when you first meet him but give it a few minutes and he'll warm right up to you and give you all the kisses you can ever want!   Tango is about 45lbs but according to him he's still a lap dog, he loves to curl up on your lap and is the best snuggle buddy! Tango gets along great with other dogs and absolutely loves rolling and running around with new friends.He enjoys everything in his new found freedom  and is such a happy boy! He's still learning a few things and hard at work on his manners as he basically grew up in a high kill shelter environment. He is, however, very interested in everything new so he likes to investigate  but he listens very well to correction and is learning very fast! He is crate trained with some whining for a few minutes until he settles down and takes a nap. If you're looking to adopt a sensational senior, Lucy is your girl.  She is an Australian Cattle Dog mix, born Dec 2015.  She is a little timid at first, but will be your best pal once she get to know you.  She is seriously the ideal dog!   She needs a home with a fenced yard and she would be okay with another canine friend in her forever home!  Here are a few more fun facts: *Good with kids         *House trained *Low energy              *Quiet/doesn't bark much (inside or outside)              *Curious about cats, but easily redirected when called away  *Trained to stay off furniture      *No counter surfing for food      *Leaves the trash alone and doesn't chew on anything that is out around the house *She does great with people she hasn't met coming in and out of foster's house - no growls or aggressive barks (just a bark when the doorbell rang).  She went right up to the person coming in, sniffed and then rubbed against them. *Lucy likes to follow her foster mom around the house to see what she's doing, but if it's not exciting to her, she will go back to her bed and lay down.   She is on a special diet food to help her reduce the chance of stones forming in her bladder/kidney and she takes medication to help her with urine flow.  If you're looking for a well-behaved senior girl that you don't have to train, Lucy might just be for you. The suggested adoption donation for Lucy is $275. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. This is Winstorn, an Australian Cattle dog, born 4 years ago (b. Oct 2020).  Winston would love to be on a farm or acreage where he has room to run, play and explore.  Bonus points if you have a job for him as his breed really needs to have something to do.  He has spent time with friends on a large property and their 3 dogs.  He is a little anxious sometimes, but eager to please.  This likely comes from his excess energy and just needing something to do.  Winston is startled by kids screaming and small dogs barking.  He will benefit from some leash training because he is reactive to other dogs when on a leash. Winston is very attentive and affectionate with his people.  He is anxious to find a family that will give him all the attention, snuggles and love he deserves! The suggested adoption donation for Winston is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
