Story
My story will break your heart but perhaps knowing some of the details would allow me to take credit for how far I've come in my healing journey.  My future is bright with a forever family who will show me the grace, love and consistency I need for success.  While I love to play with most other dogs, there are times when too much stimulation contributes to temporary insanity.  My humans will need to read my clues and advocate for my needs.  That may mean quiet time in a kennel or supervised couch snuggles.  My walking skills are improving remarkably but there are days when I'll need shorter, more frequent walks as opposed to one long walk. When my forever family establishes a consistent routine for me, kindly redirects my missteps and constantly rewards my wins,  my devotion, love and appreciation will overflow.  For more information, please email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Thanks to our amazing Angel Sponsors, our long term pups now come with reduced adoption fees, alleviating financial road blocks for some, and making it even easier to open your heart and home to a furry friend. The adoption fee is $100 plus tax and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission. If you have otherdogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with youwhen you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.*****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want tomeet this pet, please go to www.townandcountryhumanesociety.org and click Adopt.  Then scroll down toOnline Application and select Dog Application.   Your application will be reviewed and you will be contactedto set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will besupervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Ifyou have a dog or dogs currently, a meet and greet with the dog is also required but can be done at the sametime. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and ourmission. ##1666777##

Story
Meet our adorable blue-eyed sweetheart, Tex! This charming boy, just shy of 7 months old, is eagerly awaiting his forever family! Currently being fostered until he finds his perfect match, he's already mastered the art of potty training and kennel etiquette (sleeping a solid 10 hours!). With a repertoire of basic commands like sit, get it, and potty, he's a quick learner eagerly awaiting to add 'wait' and 'leave it' to his skill set! Living harmoniously with both large and small dogs, as well as feline friends, he's a true social butterfly. Plus, he adores his human siblings and thrives on their affection! Ideal for an active household, this pup loves to stay on the move! Whether it's playing with his beloved humans and canine companions, burning off energy with zoomies, or solving dog puzzles for meals, he's always up for an adventure. Yet, when it's time to unwind, there's nothing he enjoys more than snuggling up on your lap. Tex is believed to be a mix of Aussie and Blue Heeler, so his boundless energy and keen intellect make him a perfect candidate for agility training or scent work. If you're an active family with a yard or someone ready to take on the challenge of training him for his dream job, Tex is the ideal companion for you! If you're ready to welcome this lovable pup into your home, don't hesitate to apply today! The adoption fee is $400.00, plus tax. The adoption fee covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have otherdogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with youwhen you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel. Story
Stella is as sweet and playful as it gets. A single tennis ball will be hours of entertainment - and she can catch and return perfectly. She is crate and house trained. My son purchased her without knowing a lot about the breed - fast forward three months and I took her in to provide a loving home. Unfortunately she is resource guarding me. She is loyal to a fault, which is why I would recommend her being an only dog. We’ve tried training and she learns very quickly, but after a year we learned it wasn’t fair to both dogs to live this way. She has anxiety issues we are trying to calm. A thunder shirt goes a long way!

Story
Casper is a 3 year old Blue Heeler mix. We adopted him in 2020 in Omaha, NE. He is a sweet, energetic boy who loves to cuddle and play. He knows all the basic commands like sit, stay, etc. We are looking to rehome him due to changes in life coming to us in the near future. He's shown to be good around kids, though he is shy at first, so it takes him a little time to warm up to new people/dogs. He's also done very well with cats in the past. Preferably, he would be able to be rehomed to a home with a yard for him to run around in, or to a family that would be willing to fulfill his energy needs each day. We would like him to be rehomed with our other dog, Frog, as they've grown up together and we're not sure how they would do separately.

Story
Introducing Casper, a Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix, born October 2020.  This friendly guy gets along with canines, felines and humans of all ages!  He is leash trained and knows some commands.  Casper likes to use his mouth to say hi to everyone - he doesn't bite, but he likes to put his teeth on things (he's surprisingly gentle when doing so) and never holds onto anything very long.  He would prefer to have another dog or cat around (his brother Frog needs a new place if you're looking for two).  The perfect home for Casper would be somewhere with a big fenced yard for him to run or with someone who is willing to take him on frequent walks or runs.  He loves to run! The suggested adoption donation for Casper is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
