Story
Mila is a beautiful, 10 1/2 yr old, tan & white cattle dog mix looking for her forever home. She had some bad luck with her last adoption from us.  We got a call from a shelter in Wisconsin that she was found tied to a pole. A wonderful volunteer from that shelter flew her to Iowa in his personal plane where one of our dedicated volunteers met him to pick her up and bring her back home.  She is playful and loves people of all kinds. Mila walks well on a leash, loves to play fetch and does a good job of keeping herself occupied. She's a sweet, fun girl and would love to live out the rest of her life with someone who loves her. Mila cannot be around other dogs so she needs to be the only pet in the home. Can you give Mila the life she so deserves.  For more information, email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt The adoption fee is $250 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##1586145##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation. If you are new to German Shepherds (and other herding breeds), please research the breed to make sure this is the dog for you. We ask that you consider the time and financial commitment that your German Shepherd (or other herding breed) dog will require before applying for one. Please review the section on our website (www.heartlandgsrescue.org) 'Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?' for additional information. Primrose is an adorable puppy who is full of personality, has one blue eye, and is a bundle of cuteness! She enjoys the company of others (both furry and human) and loves to play tug and fetch. She is making great progress with her crate and potty-training! As long as she gets her playtime and goes potty before bedtime, she will sleep through the night. She likes to start her day early and is a morning cuddlebug. She loves stuffed animals. She has the cutest butt wiggles and sweet little howl when she is feeling lonely. She gives all the appropriate signs when she needs something and is a wonderful puppy! She is currently learning 'sit' and to do it before she gets out of the crate, as well as before going outside for a potty break. She would love a furry companion to play 'keep away with', and tug, of course. She currently lives with a one 8 year old dog that she gets along great with, as well as two adults and a teenager. She can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly with a little reassurance and safety. She is curious about new sounds and likes to explore once she feels safe.Like any of our dogs, this sweet, beautiful girl would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that her breed needs.  Because of that, Prim's ideal owner will have prior GSD or other herding breed experience, and a friendly dog buddy.  Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember  that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills, and manners.   Prim's adoption fee is $395, all of which goes back into offsetting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs.  We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please review the information in the 'About Us', 'Important Considerations' and 'Adopt' sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.July 20, 2024, 2:05 am

Story
Freckles, an Australian cattle dog/Lab mix, and is now available and ready to mix and mingle with any breed and size of dog that will play with him. This 7-8 month old handsome little 42 pound guy loves all people and children whether you are playing or snuggling with him. His personality is that of loyal loving lab that will capture your heart!  Freckles came to us as a stray, trying to survive alone in a wooded area. He was previously adopted then given away... and sadly, as is frequently the case, no responsible owner came forward but that's ok he's on to a better life and wow does he deserve it! He is such an affectionate sweetheart that will fit into any family. He loves to play hard and snuggle hard as the saying goes. Another playful dog to get his energy out would be ideal and a fence is REQUIRED.  This fantastic boy is one of the best cuddles we have and loves to sleep with his head on your shoulder or his long little body curled up on your lap. He loves his toys,  chew bones and is doing good on loose leash walking. Freckles really loves any activity/adventures with his people....walks, hikes, runs when he's old enough, camping going on car rides, etc and you will be rewarded with lots of kisses by this cutie! He is easy to redirect and wants to please his people and very smart. He is also hard at work on 4 on the floor when he's super excited, and potty training is almost complete, if you pay attention to his signals. This guy is also crate trained and will go in by himself to nap! Looking for your best fun-time buddy and snuggler all rolled into one? Just apply at WWW.HAVENANIMALRESCUENEBRASKA.ORG to submit an application on our website and he can be yours! DONATION ADOPTION FEE: $375 PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.  Thank you for choosing adoption!! July 22, 2024, 3:43 am

Story
Say hello to Lucy and Ricky, a bonded duo looking for their dream place to live out their golden years! Like Ma and Dorothy on "The Golden Girls", they just can't leave each other! Lucy is a Australian Cattle Dog mix (born Dec 2015). Ricky is a Pointer mix (born Jan 2018).  They are very timid dogs, but will be your best pals once they trust you. Lucy is Ricky's emotional support dog and he just loves to be around her. Ricky's days normally include napping and hoarding the toys. Meanwhile, Lucy spends her day napping and hanging with her people! Due to their size and energy, they need a home with a fenced yard. They both would be okay with another canine friend in their forever home! Every duo needs a "Golden Girls Rose", don't they? Lucy and Ricky are happy to be retiring and look forward to enjoying the good life without young kiddos. Are you ready to welcome them into your home? The suggested adoption donation for Lucy and Ricky is $400. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page, Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2046791##

Story
This is Marv, a young Australian Cattle Dog mix (b. 9/23/23) and he is ready for his second chance! Marv is pretty much potty trained and crate trained.  He now sleeps through the night and could definitely sleep all day.  He is a cuddle bug and just want to be next to you!  He is sooooo smart - learning simple commands and potty training has been easy-peasy for him!  He is great with ALL people and has loved everyone he's been introduced to - male and female.  He is definitely a people puppy!  He is somewhat reactive to other dogs and just wants to protect his people - he is working on this with his foster parents, but it would probably be best for him to be the only pet in the house.  He hasn't been around a lot of kids, so we're not sure - but he might do okay with older kids (age 8+).  We’ll continue to share updates as we learn more about this near-perfect pup! Please Note:  Marv came to rescue Parvo+ and won’t be able to go to his furever home until 7/27/24 as he will be “shedding” parvo until then. We encourage you to apply today so we can start the adoption process now! The suggested adoption donation for Marv is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Adoptions for Marv are limited to the area within 50 miles of Omaha so that he can continueto take advantage of free training from our certified positive reinforcement trainers. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2096218##
