Story
Mila is a beautiful, 10 1/2 yr old, tan & white cattle dog mix looking for her forever home. She had some bad luck with her last adoption from us.  We got a call from a shelter in Wisconsin that she was found tied to a pole. A wonderful volunteer from that shelter flew her to Iowa in his personal plane where one of our dedicated volunteers met him to pick her up and bring her back home.  She is playful and loves people of all kinds. Mila walks well on a leash, loves to play fetch and does a good job of keeping herself occupied. She's a sweet, fun girl and would love to live out the rest of her life with someone who loves her. Mila cannot be around other dogs so she needs to be the only pet in the home. Can you give Mila the life she so deserves.  For more information, email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt The adoption fee is $200 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##1586145##

Story
Danni is a, 3 yr 9 mth old Cattle Dog mix pup. She is very sweet and loves loves loves to play fetch. She could actually play fetch all day long if you wanted to. Danni has some resource guarding tendencies so should not go to a home with small kids and would like to be the only dog in the house. She knows how to sit and she is very sweet. Come on out and meet her to see if she's the one for your family. The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an application.   After you have submitted an application and have been approved, we will setup a “meet and greet” between you and the pet. Applications are reviewed in order of receipt.  If everything goes well during the meet and greet, you can take the puppy home the same day.   Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission. ##950059##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation. If you are new to German Shepherds (and other herding breeds), please research the breed to make sure this is the dog for you. We ask that you consider the time and financial commitment that your German Shepherd (or other herding breed) dog will require before applying for one. Please review the section on our website (www.heartlandgsrescue.org) 'Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?' for additional information. Primrose is an adorable puppy who is full of personality, has one blue eye, and is a bundle of cuteness! She enjoys the company of others (both furry and human) and loves to play tug and fetch. She is making great progress with her crate and potty-training! As long as she gets her playtime and goes potty before bedtime, she will sleep through the night. She likes to start her day early and is a morning cuddlebug. She loves stuffed animals. She has the cutest butt wiggles and sweet little howl when she is feeling lonely. She gives all the appropriate signs when she needs something and is a wonderful puppy! She is currently learning 'sit' and to do it before she gets out of the crate, as well as before going outside for a potty break. She would love a furry companion to play 'keep away with', and tug, of course. She currently lives with a one 8 year old dog that she gets along great with, as well as two adults and a teenager. She can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly with a little reassurance and safety. She is curious about new sounds and likes to explore once she feels safe.Like any of our dogs, this sweet, beautiful girl would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that her breed needs.  Because of that, Prim's ideal owner will have prior GSD or other herding breed experience, and a friendly dog buddy.  Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember  that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills, and manners.   Prim's adoption fee is $395, all of which goes back into offsetting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs.  We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please review the information in the 'About Us', 'Important Considerations' and 'Adopt' sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.October 21, 2024, 11:49 am

Please review the section on our website (www.heartlandgsrescue.org) 'Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?' for additional information.Rascal is a 2.5 year-old Australian Cattle Dog (Red Heeler) who has the coolest eyes ever! He is fun, affectionate, and always ready for an adventure. In typical ACD fashion, he will watch you carefully to see if there is any fun in store and to make sure he does not miss out on anything! He LOVES to cover people with kisses and is known as the Round Mound of Rebound due to his muscles. Rascal loves retrieving balls and playing on foster mom's backyard Agility equipment. He is good on car rides, enjoys cuddling on laps (once he’s tired), loves walking, and hiking. We recently found out he enjoys swimming! Rascal enjoys playing any kind of game and is a fast-learner. He has some Obedience commands: Leash Walking, Touch (hand), Front, Come, Swing (into Heel), Too Far, Leave It, Sit, etc. He is potty-trained and crate-trained (42” crate).  Rascal loves kids, but can be a bit too bouncy for small ones. Due to his life before HUGS, Rascal does not like cats. At all. He is okay with most other dogs when introduced slowly and with dogs that match his very energetic play level. He loves to play hard, chase, run, investigate, and hang out with them. He is okay with baths and nail trims. Rascal bounces when he is excited. Hold the palm of your hand where you want him and tell him “Touch” and you can practically bounce him like a ball! Rascal follows his foster mom around the house, carefully watching what she is doing to see if he can help as he is extremely intelligent and loves to learn. He is a “ride or die” kinda guy and very attached to “his” human. This is one of the most patient and jolly dogs ever! Rascal's adoption fee is $350, all of which goes back into offseting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs.  We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age- appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply. Like all Australian Cattle Dogs, GSDs, and other herding breeds that we have in rescue, Rascal will need training, consistency, boundaries, and lots of activity and socialization, in order to be a well-balanced, well-behaved dog. This sweet boy would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that he needs. Because of that, Rascal's ideal owner will have prior Australian Cattle Dog, GSD, or other similar breed experience. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills and manners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please review the information in the 'About Us', 'Important Considerations' and 'Adopt' sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.October 21, 2024, 11:49 am

Story
Say hello to Lucy and Ricky, a bonded duo looking for their dream place to live out their golden years! Like Ma and Dorothy on "The Golden Girls", they just can't leave each other! Lucy is a Australian Cattle Dog mix (born Dec 2015). Ricky is a Pointer mix (born Jan 2018).  They are very timid dogs, but will be your best pals once they trust you. Lucy is Ricky's emotional support dog and he just loves to be around her. Ricky's days normally include napping and hoarding the toys. Meanwhile, Lucy spends her day napping and hanging with her people! Due to their size and energy, they need a home with a fenced yard. They both would be okay with another canine friend in their forever home! Every duo needs a "Golden Girls Rose", don't they? Lucy and Ricky are happy to be retiring and look forward to enjoying the good life without young kiddos. Are you ready to welcome them into your home? The suggested adoption donation for Lucy and Ricky is $400. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page, Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2046791##
