Story
All you need to do is look in Daisy's eyes and you melt. Daisy is approximately 2 yrs old, and 20 lbs.of absolute love!  She will give you kisses the moment you meet her. She loves playing, belly rubs, sitting in your lap....she thinks she's a lap dog!  Daisy knows how to sit and will wait very patiently for her breakfast and dinner.  Walks very well on a leash, enjoys her walks with you.  Daisy is part cattle dog, so research the breed, they need exercise, room to run, an active person/family.  If you are looking for a couch potato, it's not Daisy, BUT if you are looking for a girl for your active family, kids 13+ that want a buddy to play fetch, or race through the fenced in yard....well the Daisy just might be your girl!! Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you! ##1940405##

Story
Location is Westminster, MD. Wilfred is looking for his next adventure! Wilfred is approximately 7 years old and is an Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix. He is wicked smart and has medium energy and would do best with daily exercise. He would make an excellent hiking partner, agility prospect and would excel at learning tricks. He loves catching frisbees and balls and enjoys squeak toys. He walks well on a leash, but also has great recall off-leash. He is very obedient and has a kind heart. He loves riding in the car and will patiently wait for you to return. His ideal home would be with an individual, couple, or the right family. He previously lived with small children and was very gentle. Just like most ACD’s, he likes to get to know his people and approach on his own terms. Now, to what he does not like…NO CATS!! He had a terrible experience with a cat in his previous life and he is still trying to get revenge. He will chase small animals, squirrels, chipmunks, birds, but can be verbally redirected easily. He previously lived with another female dog and is sharing my house with two male dogs. I think with the proper introduction, he would get along with either sex. I would recommend that they be about the same size. I do not think he would tolerate small, vocal, or anxious dogs. I would also recommend that his fur friends be confident…he previously lived with an insecure dog, and he fed off her anxious energy. I have calm, confident dogs and he has been fine. He is crate trained and house broken. He can be left out of the crate and has not had any accidents or damaged any furniture. If he gets anxious or unsure of a situation, gunfire, or fireworks, he likes to grab a squeak toy which redirects his attention and calms him down. I live near a gun range, and he has gotten less reactive to the noise since he first arrived. The dog has a lot of heart. He tries extremely hard to please. If you think Wilfred would make your home complete, please reach out to me with any questions. He is currently being fostered in Westminster, MD. Foster, J. Story
Location is Gloucester, MA.   Ginger will be 2 in November, about 35 lbs, spayed, micro chipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, and is on monthly heartworm/flea tick prevention. She has been with me for a bit over a year and its beyond time for her to find her family.  Ginger is from GA where she was found on the side of the road with her sister (Snap) and Momma (Cookie). She was fostered with her sister who has been adopted. Ginger is wondering where her family is??? She wants to sleep in the big bed with her humans just like her sister does. Gingers wish list......a home with a yard to run and explore. A quiet area without a lot of noise or traffic (shes a country girl). A family who is home more than not.  A family with patience,  and time to continue her training and introduce her slowly to new things. Maybe a furry brother or sister to play with.  She is very gentle and cautious with children.  Ginger would not do well in a busy appartment environment (she can be vocal) or crated long hrs daily.  She has no fear of thunder or the weekend fireworks. Ginger would be a great hiking buddy.  Ginger is housebroken but has an issue with submissive peeing,  it only seems to happen with my Grandson when he first comes in the door and then she is fine. Her crate is a safe place when new people are visiting. It's best to slowly introduce new people outside where she can take her time sniffing and meeting them. We work on sit, paw and down, she is so smart and does well on leash, though easily distracted by all the sniffs and new experiences. She does very well riding in the car, and is very easy to vet, they all love her. Ginger is still just a big pup who loves to play with her Foster siblings. Ginger is just the sweetest girl, who loves to show off her pearly white teeth, her underbite makes her so uniquely adorable. Ginger can't help it, her teeth are always showing.  Ginger is just a very happy little dog, her tail is always wagging.  She loves everyone, gets along very well with my young  Grandsons when they aren't bouncing around the house, she'll just find a quiet place until they sit, then she will come in for sniffs, love and kisses. Ginger is very submissive to other dogs, she will just lay down waiting, wanting acceptance, shes a lover, not a fighter. Once the threat is gone and she feels safe she joins in the play. Ginger is 1 of 4 dogs in my home and they all get along wonderfully. She likes to stalk the chipmunks who taunt her from the other side of the fence, play with balls and squeaky toys. She is sleek and fast , loves to run laps with her partner in crime, Blair.  They have a strong bond and are always together,  either playing or laying on the couch.   Ginger can be a bit vocal when she wants out of her crate, or its feeding time, she is a great watch dog, will let you know if someone she doesn't know is outside the fence. She sleeps all night in her crate with no issues, and is crated when I have to run errands, other than that she has free range with the others. When I get home from errands I am thoroughly examined from head to toe, she has to sniff me all over to see where I've been. Ginger enjoys watching TV and loves to cuddle up with you on the couch.  Some of her favorite things are shoes and socks and she seems to have a foot fetish so keep those socks on or she'll give you a pedicure.  Ginger loves the water and likes to chase the minnows around. One of her favorite things to do is just sniff, take it all in, nose in the air, wind blowing her ears and just sniff! Another favorite thing is to dig, she digs standing up, she digs lying down. and sometimes she digs sideways. It's so much fun ! If you would like to know more about Ginger please reach out to her Foster mom Shelleynugent@msn.com To see more photos and videos of Ginger please follow the link below https://www.facebook.com/dingodowneast/ Fostering in Gloucester, Massachusetts Complete an Application: https://www.acdra.org/adoption-applicationMarch 26, 2024, 7:16 pm
