He's between 1 and 2 years old and weighs just 45 pounds—the perfect medium-sized companion. This sweet boy is incredibly affectionate and friendly. Although he misses the family he once knew, he hasn't let that change his loving spirit. Ray is ready to start his next chapter with a family who will love him forever. His striking eyes, adorable smile, and gentle personality are sure to steal your heart—but its his kind, loyal nature that will make you fall in love. Location: Syosset, NY This 2 years old ACD mix is up for anything, whether it’s chilling in the doggie pool or hanging back with a kong or bone. He loves playing with toys and will amuse himself by throwing around a ball when you aren't available to play fetch with him. Looking for a chill night in? Bubba is down for that, too! He's the perfect tv companion and enjoys hanging out near his people in the evenings. Energy-wise he is on the calmer side of medium, so he doesn't need to run 5ks to feel content. He currently has a few dog house mates and would love to have a sibling of his own. He also seems to not mind cats if he sees one walking about outside. Bubba is well behaved, rarely barks, and has even completed a beginner training class! He's great on leash, knows basic commands, and does well meeting new dogs. He loves car rides and has done well out shopping, which has been good for working on his confidence around new people. He can currently be a little timid around unfamiliar adults, but gets a kick out of watching kids especially if they are playing nearby or doing something goofy. Bubba was pulled from a shelter with his siblings back when he was an 8 week old pup and neither mom nor dad were there with them, so unfortunately breed mix is a question mark. His siblings had markings more typical of ACD mixes, so it's safe to say that's in there somewhere! At a lean 40lbs, he's a perfect medium size and likely won't get much bigger. Bubba is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots/monthly preventatives. He is house trained with the use of a bell, and does well crated for short periods during the day with a kong to keep him occupied. He prefers the couch overnight and does well sleeping through the night. He sleeps through fireworks. Doesn’t mind taking naps in the crate. He can sometimes want to steal the ball from house mates. He lets kids pet him. Sometimes he will try and herd other dogs if they allow it. Not a strong prey drive. Will playfully chase a bunny .. Come meet your new best friend Bubba today! Location: Swarthmore, PA Ladybug is a sweet senior girl, estimated to be 8+ years old, who has truly come full circle in foster care. After having her mammary tumors removed and a much-needed dental, she's feeling good, medically ready, and waiting for a forever home of her own. The timid girl who once wanted to hide from the world has rediscovered her confidence and remembered how to be an Australian Cattle Dog! Ladybug has gone back to her roots and become much more engaged with the world around her. She's still independent and enjoys doing her own thing, but she now seeks out affection and absolutely loves head scratches and belly rubs. When it's time to relax, all she asks for is a nice soft bed. Ladybug would still do best in a fairly quiet, low-key home without children. She does well with other dogs as long as they're calm and respectful—pushy, overly energetic, or in-your-face dogs aren't her style. She's house-trained and enjoys spending time outside, lounging around the house, and keeping tabs on what everyone is doing. She can still be a picky eater, but meat is definitely the way to her heart, and Pupperonis are her absolute favorite treat. Ladybug has come such a long way. She's healed, she's found her confidence, and she's ready for her next chapter. Now this sweet senior girl just needs a soft bed, a peaceful home, and someone to call her own. Location: Berryville, VA Meet Chili! Chili is a 5 year old, 38 lb, spayed purebred girlie in need of an ACD experienced, child-free home (or older child), preferably in the VA/MD/PA area. Chili is a very intense stereotypical cattle dog, and therefore an ACD experienced home is a must. She is living with three dog-savvy cats, three resident dogs (including her littermate sister), chickens, and goats, however, she is constantly irritating her sister, and would probably prefer to be the only dog in a home, as she is a mouthy cattle dog. She is also wary of strangers, and would love to have a quiet home without many people coming and going. She was not happy in a more urban previous home, so her ideal home would be more rural. She is well behaved around the goats, but is very intense, and I think with training she could absolutely be used to successfully move livestock. She is very receptive to training, and is truly a joy to work with. If you are ready for a challenge with a wonderful reward, Chili is your girl. Location: Salem, Ohio Patch 6 year old neutered Cattle Dog mix Who needs a couch potato? Seriously, forget everything you have ever heard about Cattle Dogs! Patch does not need long walks, mental stimulation, a job, exercise or any other activity. Just let him be in the same room as you, tell him he’s a good boy and scratch his head. He’s happy as he can be. Well, he does need to go out to potty 3 times a day but it doesn’t take him long. Now don’t take me wrong. He does like to do zoomies or just run around but only for about 15 minutes. Not endless energy. Patch is completely safe to leave in the house uncrated. No messes. No chewing. Only bad habit is he does like to check out what’s on the counter. You won’t even know he’s in the house. He will find a quiet corner to lie down and that’s where he will stay. If you leave him, he will watch you out the window and do the most pathetic whine. Then settles down and waits for your return. I do recommend a house with no young children. Patch has led a very sheltered life. Loud noises, commotion, kids running around would make him nervous. Also a fenced yard would be ideal. If he gets a chance, he takes off. Again, not for long but he does quickly disappear. I see Patch with an older person or couple that lives a quiet life. Heck, he doesn’t even want to go on a Sunday drive! And he would be happiest being the only dog. He pretty much ignores cats. He may decide to play with the cat but again, not often and just for a minute or two. Jackson is located in Watsontown, PA Jackson may have started out life as a sweet little pup but his character is now that of a rowdy cattle dog. Now 20 pounds at 15 weeks he is living his best life, taking on all that comes at him with confidence and endless energy. Not much into playing ball, he would rather herd the players or steal the ball when they are not looking. Lives with cats of all ages, pestering some, chasing others and in some cases having a snuggle. He loves people but hasn’t been around the little people. He enjoys car rides and loves his off leash runs in the local game lands. Swimming, so far, is not his thing but wading in the shallows in search of frogs can be great fun. Backyard activities include climbing the A-frame, walking on the dogwalk and having a swing. He will also tug endlessly with his foster brother. He is getting much better at leash walking, just not sure of all those neighborhood barking dogs. Scheduled for his final puppy vaccinations, and is not yet neutered.
