Story
Location: Syosset, NY This approx. 1year old ACD mix is up for anything, whether it’s chilling in the doggie pool or hanging back with a kong or bone. He loves playing with toys and will amuse himself by throwing around a ball when you aren't available to play fetch with him. Looking for a chill night in? Bubba is down for that, too! He's the perfect tv companion and enjoys hanging out near his people in the evenings. Energy-wise he is on the calmer side of medium, so he doesn't need to run 5ks to feel content. He currently has a few dog house mates and would love to have a sibling of his own. He also seems to not mind cats if he sees one walking about outside. Bubba is well behaved, rarely barks, and has even completed a beginner training class! He's great on leash, knows basic commands, and does well meeting new dogs. He loves car rides and has done well out shopping, which has been good for working on his confidence around new people. He can currently be a little timid around unfamiliar adults, but gets a kick out of watching kids especially if they are playing nearby or doing something goofy. Bubba was pulled from a shelter with his siblings back when he was an 8 week old pup and neither mom nor dad were there with them, so unfortunately breed mix is a question mark. His siblings had markings more typical of ACD mixes, so it's safe to say that's in there somewhere! At a lean 40lbs, he's a perfect medium size and likely won't get much bigger. Bubba is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots/monthly preventatives. He is house trained with the use of a bell, and does well crated for short periods during the day with a kong to keep him occupied. He prefers the couch overnight and does well sleeping through the night.   He sleeps through fireworks ,Doesn’t mind taking naps in the crate.  He can sometimes want to steal the ball from house mates. He lets kids pet him. Sometimes he will try and herd other dogs if they allow it.  Not a strong prey drive. Will playfully chase a bunny ..  Come meet your new best friend Bubba today! Story
Location: Knoxville, TN   Meet Oakley!   Oakley is a 4 - year - old neutered male Australian Cattle Dog weighing about 40 pounds .  He is a beautiful red mixed with some blue and has the best ring tail ever! He is up to date on vaccines including canine influenza and is heartworm negative and currently on prevention.  Not a lot is known about his earlier history other than that he was a “farm dog” who likely had few outside life experiences.  Since coming into foster he has really come out of his shell and is a real sweetheart  with tons of potential!  Oakley has a high energy level.  He is very friendly to people although he is prone to jumping up (we are working on this).  H e walks well on and off leash – he doesn’t really know heel  yet  but he does not pull. He  naturally stays close and  has a totally rockstar recall.  He is dog  friendly  but his exuberant nature sometimes makes them afraid of him. He has done well with parallel walks with other dogs. He likes to swim and is not afraid to climb on agility equipment! We have done a bit  a jogging  together and he has been great. He has learned  sit  and has a pretty good  down   but we are still working on this.  He is good in the  house  and his housebreaking is almost there! He is a counter surfer though  and if left alone too long might chew !  But he is good in a crate!  He is food motivated but not as toy motivated. He is a total toy destroyer – if he can’t destroy  it  it ’s just not that fun! He is good around horses and goats  and does not bother them even when off leash .   He is good with cats after a supervised  introduction  but I wouldn’t trust him with chickens.  He does however display some strong herding instincts and when very  excited  will give a quick  playful cattle dog  nip to you.  His biggest problem is going in the car. He loves to get in the car and does not get carsick. However, when the car is  moving  he barks – something else that we are working on .  Oakley had some fly strike on both ears when he came into rescue. The open sores have healed but he has  some hair loss on the back of his ears at the tip  that I believe will be permanent – it is barely  noticeable. He does have some chipped incisors which do not bother him at all  currently  but may require extraction in the future. Oakley loves attention and is looking for his forever home  with his person .  He has so much potential with continued training and interaction. He is fostered in Knoxville, TN . Please reach out to his foster home at  m_trogdon@hotmail.com  with any questions about Oakley or to arrange a meet and greet .  Complete an Application: https://search.app/x6VdVLYHVyXCqR9G7       December 14, 2025, 9:32 pm

Story
Location: Gloucester Massachusetts  Spice Female  Australian Cattle Dog Mix  Born 11/28/2025 3 months  Micro chipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.    Spice is one of (4) littermates that will be listed separately.   Spice is a calmer pup and is very cuddly.  Keep in mind she is a Cattle Dog pup with extremely sharp teeth and claws, probably not suited for a home with children under 8.  Puppies eat, sleep, play and (poop). They are very cute when they're sleeping. Spice sleeps in a crate with her sisters at night, and they play in an x-pen while inside.  She loves running through the snow and exploring the yard. A good home for Spice would include a fenced yard where she can run and play. A family committed to the training and physical (mental) exercise she will need.  Someone familiar with the breed. Cattle Dogs are a lot of work and need a dedicated person(s) to help them become the best they can be. These pups are not first come first served.  Pups will be placed in homes that meet their needs as well as an adopters needs. If interested in Spice, or have any questions please reach out to her foster mom shelleynugent@msn.com    Meet and greets can be arranged after an application has been submitted to @acdra.org February 21, 2026, 10:23 pm

Location: Wilmington, DE Moby is one of 8 littermates that will be listed individually. Both parents are ACD’s and are being fostered with the litter. Moby is a gentle giant and enjoys playing with littermates and parents. He is a blue heeler like his father and is one of the larger pups currently weighing 11 lbs. and is 8 weeks old.      He has a kind and gentle nature and will blossom with patience after leaving littermates and learning new routine and environment. He currently sleeps with littermates in extra large kennel. Pups use blue pads in kennel. Pups love yard time and have healthy appetites being fed 3 times a day. They can do stairs and love treats, balls, chew toys and playing in fabric agility tunnel and cardboard boxes.    An adopter familiar or experience with the breed, a fenced yard, commitment to on-going positive reinforcement training, both physical and mental exercise would be preferred.  I would not recommend a home with children under 8.   Pups will come with a spay/neuter contract and are current on all age appropriate vaccinations, flea and tick and heart worm preventatives. Pups will be placed in homes that can meet their needs. This breed can be a challenge and require dedicated owners. Happy to send more photos and videos to potential adopters.    Pups are being fostered in Wilmington, Delaware. Meet and greets for potential local adopters will be arranged with foster home.    If interested in Moby, or if you have any questions please reach out to foster mom Joan at ohdgarden@comcast.net.      To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an email to  fosterlistings+unsuFebruary 27, 2026, 1:56 pm
