This boy is super mellow and trots along on his walks just taking in the world around him. Skywalker is always down with some quality time with you just to hang and gives out some kisses. He is such a snuggle monster!Sky loves his toys, and would do best in a home without younger children as he doesn't always know how to share them. He would love someone who understands him, and has some experience as a dog owner. Our Sky really just wants to have a person he can call his own. Fill out our dog adoption questionnaire online to meet this dreamy Jedi! *Skywalker would love to get to know you better! Our behavior specialist can help you get to know him better with three training sessions! If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.April 24, 2024, 4:19 pm

Story
Fletcher is a 10 month old Red Heeler/Beagle mix He’s about 45 pounds and just about done growing He is a medium/high energy dog and he LOVES to play! He loves all dogs, of all sizes and breeds. He currently lives in a home with several other dogs and cats. He is crate trained and potty trained and does very well in his crate. He is exuberant in all things in life. He loves people, does well with children (can be a little jumpy out of excitement), and is a wonderful happy dog to be around. Fletcher loves toys, and enjoys walks and hikes. He’s a goofy guy who wants to make you laugh. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
I'm Cattle Dog/Aussie mix, Iris, and I'm on a mission to find my forever family (or foster family until then)! Despite my young age of 6 months, I've already mastered the art of stealing hearts with my irresistible charm and affectionate personality. I’m an 18 pound social butterfly– I get along great with other dogs, making me the perfect addition to any furry friend-filled household. My journey hasn't been easy – I was once a stray, wandering the streets alone. But despite my rough start, I've never lost my sweet and friendly nature. Whether it's playing fetch in the backyard or curling up for a cozy nap on the couch, I'm eager to spend quality time with my future family. Let's embark on this incredible journey together, creating memories that will warm our hearts for years to come. Fill out an application today and be the hero I've been waiting for! Iris is available for adoption but is also in need of a foster home. Story
Hi, I'm 11 week old Janie, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home or a temporary foster home until then! I’m an Aussie/Beagle mix weighing in at 12 pounds and I have a lot of puppy love just waiting to be shared with some very lucky family! I've been working hard on my house training, and I'm making great progress - with a patient family, I'll have it mastered in no time! I'm a super-friendly pup who adores making new friends, whether they're furry or not. I get along famously with other dogs, and I've even been known to cozy up to some feline companions. I'm eager to explore the world around me and soak up all the love and attention that comes my way. Janie is available for adoption but is also in need of a foster home.
