Story
Hey friends! I’m Killogg, a happy, friendly guy who loves everyone. Seriously, I haven’t met a person (or dog!) I didn’t like. I’m the kind of pup who greets you with a wagging tail and a big smile, ready for fun or cuddles, whichever you’re up for! I love to play and have lots of energy for adventures, but I’m also a smart boy who will sit politely for treats (yum!). I’ve met some other dogs here at the shelter, and we’ve gotten along great. I’m pretty easygoing and just want to make friends wherever I go. Bonus news! If I can find a committed adopter or foster, I can catch a ride down to Petco in Huntersville, NC (10017 Biddick Lane, Huntersville NC 28078) on December 18th, 2025 so we can meet in person! If you’d like to know more about me or think I might be your next adventure partner, my team would love to hear from you! Email: ncteam@austinpetsalive.org Phone: (704) 266-3647 to learn more about me. I can’t wait to start our adventures together! Love and tail wags, Killogg

Story
Hey there, I’m Candy Corn! I’m a happy, outgoing guy with a big heart and an even bigger smile! I’ve quickly become a shelter favorite, probably because I love everyone I meet. I enjoy playtime with my toys, going for walks (I’ve got great leash manners!), and hanging out with other dogs. I’m the perfect mix of playful and polite, and I can’t wait to bring joy to my new family. If someone decides to foster or adopt me, I’ll be heading to Huntersville, NC (10017 Biddick Lane, Huntersville NC 28078) on December 18th, 2025. Maybe that’s where we’ll meet! Story
Meet Theo and Pickle! These two mixed-breed brothers are almost 5 months old and full of that perfect puppy blend of sweetness and play. They adore exploring the world, making new friends, and snuggling up once they’ve had their fill of fun. With their gentle temperaments and joyful energy, they’re the kind of pups who make every day a little brighter. Theo and Pickle are loving, playful, and eager to learn—ready to fit right into a home that will guide them as they grow. They’re confident, happy pups who will thrive with families, singles, or anyone looking for a loyal companion. And while they adore each other, they do not need to be adopted together. Theo and Pickle will be transported to Huntersville, NC in mid-December if they have a committed foster or adopter. If you are interested in fostering or adopting either, please email NCteam@austinpetsalive.org or call 704-266-3647.

Story
Cash is a very smart and loyal dog but he does not get along with my other Cattle Dog. He has attacked my other Heeler a few times and likely needs to go to a home with no other pets. He loves to play ball, knows how to sit, shake, lay down and is very treat driven. My significant other is afraid of him and says he has to go. He is crate trained and house broken.

Story
This sweet girl, Lucy, is a Cattle Dog rescued by Piedmont Animal Rescue from Western NC after Hurricane Helene, and her journey is nothing short of inspiring! When she first came into foster care, she was completely shut down and terrified of the world around her. But with love, patience, and the companionship of her foster brothers and sisters, she’s blossoming in ways we couldn’t have imagined thanks to our partners at Elevation K9 Training. Her Amazing Progress: • She plays and seeks out engagement from people she once feared. • She’s building confidence with every new field trip and exposure to the world. • Lucy has learned “heel”, and will trust your guidance while she’s there. • She will go new places with you and hang out on her “place” where she feels safe.  This beautiful girl still has some learning and growing to do, but her progress shows she’s on the path to becoming a wonderful, loyal companion. She’s looking for a forever family that can continue helping her discover how amazing life can be. Could you be the one to show her the love and stability she deserves? Lucy is dog friendly, and would thrive with siblings! She is cat friendly and really likes playing with kittens!! Lucy LOVES the water, and will swim as long as you let her. She is a great hiking companion, and doesn’t mind running short distances with you either. This girl loves to go places. She is nervous in a new environment, but does better with each new exposure to it. She loves to hang out at Coffee republic on “place” and thoroughly enjoys a good pup cup. She would love to be your best loyal companion! Lucy's adoption fee includes a MANDATORY series of training to ensure ongoing success for her and her new humans.  ($1,000 value) ##2194011##

Story
All About Me! 🐾 Hi, I’m Jax! (Your future shadow, cuddle buddy, and adventure partner!) 🐾 Hi there! I’m a 25 pound, super wiggly, happy, one-ball kind of guy (yep… I’ve got that cryptorchid thing, so I’ll need to be neutered for my health). But don’t worry — I’m all heart, even if I’m missing a little something! I’m full of energy, zoomies, and big feelings. I get excited fast and I love running around, so I’m really hoping for a home with a yard or lots of land where I can stretch these speedy legs. I LOVE people. Like… love-love. I want to be next to you, on you, leaning on you, and cuddling you any chance I get. I’m loyal and affectionate and happiest when I’m with my human. If you’ve got space for me to run, patience to help me grow, and arms for cuddles, I promise I’ll give you the best goofy, loyal love ever. Love, Jax 🐶💛 (Price negotiable)

Story
Ready to go nuts for Pistachio? Say hello to Pistachio, a young shepherd mix bursting with energy, personality, and a whole lot of love to give! At just around a year old, Pistachio is a wiggle butt and doesn’t sit still for long when out & about. At home he’s as cuddly as he is fluffy. He’s learning the art of settling with routine & consistency thanks to his foster who has professional dog training experience. We don’t know his exact breed mix but we suspect he has some type of herding genes. A home without young kids would be best. Pistachio gets along well with other playful pups and would be thrilled to have a tolerant or equally energetic doggy sibling—or he’ll happily take all your attention as a solo sidekick. He’s the perfect fit for an active person that’s willing to maintain the structure he’s accustomed to and continue working on basic obedience. His foster is also more than willing to offer training support after adoption as well. Pistachio is housebroken, crate trained, & rides well in a car. Pistachio is UTD on vaccines, kept on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, neutered & microchipped. His adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website and fill out an application. www.thefosterdoghouse.org/adopt

Story
If you're looking for a dog that is goofy and loves to snuggle, Blizzard is the one! She is a very sweet Australian Shepherd/Lab mix and has been an incredible addition to our family. She's great with kids and has been around 7 and 8 year olds during her time with us. She lets the kids wrestle with her on the floor, but never gets too rough (usually just lays there and takes it). Unfortunately, our family is going through some changes and we no longer can provide a home that Blizzard and her sister, Maple, deserve. We're hoping to find a family that is ready to take on a younger dog and give Blizzard the love that she deserves!
