Story
Hi, I’m Oreo! I’m a 1-year-old Blue Heeler mix with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. I’m smart, energetic, and always ready for my next adventure—whether that’s going for walks, playing fetch, or exploring the yard with my favorite people. I’m still young, so I’d love a family that can help keep my mind busy and teach me fun new things. Heelers are known for being loyal, and I’m no exception—I love being close to my humans and soaking up attention. After I’ve burned off some energy, I’m happy to curl up nearby and relax. If you’re looking for a fun, loving best friend who’s equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle companion, I might just be your perfect match. Come meet me soon—I can’t wait to be part of your family! I am currently part of the Direct to Adopt Program in Austin, TX. With a committed adopter or foster, I can be transported to The Shelter Pet Adoption Center inside Petco, located at 10017 Biddick Lane, Huntersville, NC 28078. If you’d like more information about me or want to talk about fostering or adopting, please reach out to my team by Email: NCteam@austinpetsalive.org or call: (704) 266-3647

Story
â¤ï¸ Blue Sassy: The Dog Who Still Has So Much Love Left to Give ❤️   Sometimes a rescue story finds you, and before you know it, you’ve become part of a journey that desperately deserves a happy ending.   Blue Sassy is a 9-year-old Blue Heeler who spent her entire life with one man who adored her. He raised her from a puppy, and every night she slept beside him. She wasn’t just his dog—she was his comfort, his companion, and his therapy through life’s challenges.   A few months ago, her owner reached out to Critter Cavalry Rescue with a heartbreaking request. His health was failing, and he was being forced to move somewhere his beloved dogs could not follow. Through tears, he asked us to help.   When Blue Sassy came into rescue, she finally received the veterinary care she hadn’t had in years. During her spay and wellness exam, we discovered she was diabetic. The untreated diabetes had also affected her eyesight, leaving her with limited vision.   But here’s the remarkable thing about Blue Sassy…   She doesn’t feel sorry for herself.   She wakes up every day happy. She greets people with a smile. She loves to explore the yard with her nose leading the way. She loves ear scratches, belly rubs, curling up on the couch, and most of all, sitting in your lap soaking up affection. She still has all the intelligence, confidence, and personality that make Blue Heelers such incredible companions.   Her foster family absolutely adores her.   Blue Sassy would do best in a home with minimal stairs and easy access to the outdoors for potty breaks. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, loves children, and enjoys being around people. While her vision isn’t perfect, she navigates her world surprisingly well and adapts with the resilience dogs are famous for.   Her diabetes is manageable with twice-daily insulin injections, given about 12 hours apart. The insulin itself is affordable, and the injections are quick and easy. Other than her diabetes, her bloodwork and health checks have been excellent.   What Blue Sassy needs now isn’t pity.   She needs someone who sees beyond a diagnosis and recognizes the loving, loyal, funny, affectionate dog standing right in front of them.   At 9 years old, she still has plenty of life to live, plenty of cuddles to give, and plenty of memories left to make. Age is only a number, and Blue Sassy’s heart is as young as ever.   Could you be the person who gives this sweet girl the next chapter she deserves?   If you’d like to learn more about Blue Sassy, please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   She has already been someone’s whole world once. We’d love to find her another family to love just as deeply       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 17, 2026, 3:33 pm

Story
Danny's tender, young life had been a tough road that ended with him being dumped at the shelter gravely wounded.  He had been dragged "accidentallly" by the truck taking him to the shelter to be dumped and his feet were raw, bloody and extremely painful and had some other cuts and bruises...he was lucky to be alive.   He could barely walk let alone stand without being in excruciating pain. This poor guy had been through so much in his very young life that we had to save him and get him whole and painfree.  It was a tough road as you can imagine but he was always such a great patient and he could tell we were trying to help him.  Weeks upon weeks of having to wear an Elizabethan collar and lots of TLC from us, he was mended and we began to see his amazing little personality shine through.   He just blossomed and has become the sweetest, funniest boy!  He loves to play with other dogs but is also content to play with toys by himself.  He is also very happy basking in the sun.   Danny is a smart boy and is willing to please.  He is food motivated so training him is a breeze.  He's a younger adult with lots of energy so an active person or family with children over 10 would be perfect.  He deserves his happily ever and his REAL day in the sun! If interested in possibly meeting him, please go to freedomfarmrescue.com and fill out an online application. We just like to know a little about you prior to a meet and greet.

Story
Meet Kannon -A Sweet, Energetic Companion Looking for His Forever Home Kannon is a lovable 3-year-old pup full of energy and personality. I’ve had him since he was a puppy, and he has always been outgoing, playful, and eager to run and explore. He thrives on outdoor time and loves being around people. Unfortunately, I recently moved into a small apartment and with a demanding work schedule, I am no longer able to give Kannon the space, attention, and active lifestyle he truly deserves. While he gets along well with my older dog, shes slowing down and cant keep up with his playful nature anymore. Kannon would do best in a home with a yard or someone who enjoys outdoor activities and has the time to give him the love and interaction he craves. He’s a wonderful dog who just needs the right environment to thrive.

Story
I’m looking to find a great home for my 4-year-old Blue Heeler. He’s full of energy, super smart, and gets along well with other dogs — he’s been a wonderful companion. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment that’s too small for him to get the space and exercise he needs, and I can’t keep two dogs where I’m living. He would thrive in a home with lots of room to run, play, and stay active.

Story
Chip came to me and my family through an adoption service. He was apart of a litter of puppies and the owner couldn't keep all of them. The day I saw him on Petfinder.com as a puppy, I fell in love with him. He is 10 years old but still very energetic. He loves to play fetch in the backyard and his toys in the house. He loves kids because they love to play. I am looking for someone who will give him lots of love and attention. He is fun, and extremely smart.
