Story
Magnolia is a 2 year old female spayed heeler mix (3/4 ACD, 1/4 American pitbull). We have had her since she was 6 weeks old, when someone was giving away puppies at the farmers market. She has been a loyal companion to our two other dogs until this spring. Magnolia began to show aggression towards one of our other dogs in the form of resource guarding. We no longer think it is safe for either dog to keep them in the same household. Magnolia is incredibly smart, and very loyal and eager to please. It breaks our heart to have to rehome her, but we believe it is the right call for Maggie and she would be happier in a place where she did not feel she needed to compete with our other dog. Maggie is a wonderful walking buddy and uses a gentle leader. She does great in car rides. She is crate trained and goes to it when instructed. She is also very well house trained. She is very healthy, up to date on all vaccines and preventions.

Story
Betty is a beautiful 2-year old female Australian Cattle Dog/Red Heeler mix who was surrendered by her owner on April 20, 2024 because she was not good with other animals. This young lady has a red/mahogany-and-white short smooth coat with red ticking, a naturally docked tail, and a cute symmetrically-marked face dark brown eyes, a black button nose on her slender muzzle, a nice 'smile', and short semi-erect ears. Betty had been in her new family's home for only a few weeks. They had hoped to keep her, but she was aggressive toward their other animals. Betty is not good with other dogs or cats, and she tends to be protective of her food. Betty is house trained. Betty currently weighs 55 lbs. She has not yet been spayed. Betty is looking for an experienced handler who will work with her to resolve the food protection behavior. She appears to be ok with her people friends.

Story
Amor is a beautiful 7-year old female (possible) Blue Heeler/Bluetick Coonhound mix who was brought to the HSOV on July 1, 2024 by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff who picked her up on Hazelwood Road in the Marietta Ohio area. Amor was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped. This lovely girl has a white short smooth coat with blue- and red ticking, a black patch at the base of her long tail, and an adorable symmetrically-marked black-and-tan face with a narrow white stripe on her forehead, white/blue ticking on her muzzle, and large floppy ears. Amor has the most lovable, affectionate disposition. This little sweetheart is living in a world without sight since she appears to be blind in both eyes. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Jennie Payton Sherrard for accompanying Amor for outdoor photos on the evening of July 2nd during an after-hours dog walk. Amor was in love with Jennie and demonstrated that she had adapted to her physical limitation of eyesight. Amor walked well on a leash with Jennie close by her side, and she gave her some great 'puppy kisses' and hugs afterwards as thanks for loving on her, Amor weighs 56 lbs. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Amor will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold. She will be available for adoption if not reclaimed.

Story
We really outdid ourselves with originality in naming Cattle Dog, or “Cattle D” for not much shorter. Cattle Dog has all the energy and big personality you would expect from a Cattle Dog—he will patrol your yard to protect it from both squirrels and ghosts, but when not under attack from these nefarious villains, he loves to play with his friends and loves giving kisses and hugs and getting attention from his people. He’s a fantastic dog and just the best boy. A physically fenced yard is required. Cattle Dog is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio.
