Story
We really outdid ourselves with originality in naming Cattle Dog, or “Cattle D” for not much shorter. Cattle Dog has all the energy and big personality you would expect from a Cattle Dog—he will patrol your yard to protect it from both squirrels and ghosts, but when not under attack from these nefarious villains, he loves to play with his friends and loves giving kisses and hugs and getting attention from his people. He’s a fantastic dog and just the best boy. A physically fenced yard is required. Cattle Dog is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
Name: Echo Gender: Male Age: 9 months Current Weight: 31 lbs Expected Adult Size: Medium (25-50 lbs) Breed: Australian cattle dog / Aussie Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog. Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, any age Apartment Friendly: Yes Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: Echo is looking for a home that understands his breed. He is very intelligent but sometimes comes off as a little anxious when exposed to high stress environments. However, he quickly adjusts with guidance.  Friendly and social with other dogs, young kids and cats. Some cats he likes to watch carefully but has never attempted to chase or be rough with them.He has great house manners, and knows some basics like "sit". He is working on leash walking, but this boy is going to make a home very happy! Likes: Being near you, stuffed toys, running through leaf piles Dislikes: Doesn't love boarding kennels and some really anxious dogs make him anxious too. The struggles of being an empath.  Echo is a total lover, the perfect size, and probably smarter than you! Don't take offense, he has the makings of a canine Jeopardy champion.  Echo is friendly with everything, but most of all he is a lover! He wants to always be near you, but not in a clingy, "this is too much" way. He loves to have a paw touching you, or being just close enough he could get to you in a hurry. Echo's adoption fee is $400. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Echo, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2591914##

She can be a bit mouthy at times, so she would do best with a family that understands how to redirect until she grows out of it. This includes the kiddos. But she is a smart girl and learns fast! Likes: She LOVES toys and will spend all day going from one toy to another with an occasional nap in between. Pixel is a cuddle bug and loves to lay next to her people. Dislikes: She doesn’t love her crate and car rides make her nervous. Look into Pixel’s eyes and we double dog dare you not to fall in love. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Frankincense, or Frank, is currently in foster care. He is a gentle senior soul that gets along with all dogs, loves to snuggle, and prefers your pillow over any dog bed. He is sensitive around his neck and a little head shy but never aggressive. He uses steps to get on and off the bed and the couch because of a narrowing in his spine that limits his mobility and causes him pain at certain angles. He tolerates crating but much prefers to be loose when you are gone. We are considering this guy a medical special needs case, so if you're interested in potential adoption, please reach out to us so we can discuss his needs. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Frankincense home. If you are interested in meeting Frankincense, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Sweet Luna came to our rescue with puppies. She was an incredible momma. All of her pups have since been adopted but she is still patiently waiting on someone to call her their girl. She loves walks and just discovered how much she loves the sand volleyball court! This sweet girl came to DASH fearful and shy with little confidence. She has made great strides in the DASH Prison Training Program. Her handler says " Luna is better than a good pet, she's a good friend and a great roommate". When you wake up, she's looking at you like "What are we going to do today?", but she is not afraid to be alone either. She will do best with a person who responds in a calm, relaxed approach. She is highly intelligent, affectionate and loyal and attaches quickly to one person. She loves everyone though. She's a great dog who just needs a chance with a family that has time for her. She will need time to decompress, with love and patience to show her she is safe and part of the family. Luna is not cat-friendly but is sociable with other dogs, just not puppies. She has not been "kid tested" so proper meet & greets are always in order. We are excited and anticipate Luna finding her perfect home. Rescue Luna and she'll rescue you. Apply today!    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2025, 5:09 pm
