Story
We got Diesel around 2 years ago from a local humane society. We all fell in love instantly. He is a very playful, sweet dog. Until recently our daughter and him have gotten along well but as she gets older and more energetic (she has severe ADHD) it’s starting to make him anxious. We don’t think it’s fair to him to keep him in an environment that keeps him on edge. He is a big snuggler and will curl up with you. Will take a little warming up, we suspect he was abused prior to coming home with our family. He has been through obedience training through K9Academy and is fully up to date on all shots. We hate to see him go but he isn’t adjusting well. The best place for him would be in a no pet, no child home but he will do fine with another dog.

Dog's Name JerseyGender FemaleCurrent Age 6 monthsCurrent Age Range Young Adult (6 months to 1 year)Current Weight 60 lbsExpected Adult Size X-Large (over 100 lbs)Breed Australian Cattle MixEnergy Level Low-Medium Dog Friendly Yes, and requires another dog in the home. Cat Friendly Yes Kids Yes, any age Apartment Friendly Yes Fence Requirements Physical fence required, any height Crate Trained She will go in the crate with high maintenance treats and some coaxing, but she hates it. Potty Trained Yes Ideal Home / Adopter Jersey is still learning to be a dog. She would love to have another dog that would help her out. She is very sweet, but timid. She is still afraid of the leash, she is working on it, but would need a house with a fenced in yard. She is very curious about cats, loves to smell them, but does not chase them. She takes time to warm up to people, but she does not jump on them. Likes She loves chicken, following around the other dog(s) in the house, sticking her face in the snow and running around in the snow. She also loves shoes..... Dislikes the CRATE! She eventually calms down, but does better being confined to a room (without shoes, unless you are okay with losing those shoes). She is still learning leash skills and building confidence, and takes about a day to warm up in new situations. Jersey is a sweet sweet dog. She takes about a day to warm up and then when she does she steals your heart. Jersey will be your best friend. She is still learning to trust, but once she does she just wants to be near you and her doggie friends. She is learning to play fetch and chase the other dogs. She loves the snow, but loves to crash on the couch just as much. She really wants to make her people happy. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2657164##

Story
We really outdid ourselves with originality in naming Cattle Dog, or “Cattle D” for not much shorter. Cattle Dog has all the energy and big personality you would expect from a Cattle Dog—he will patrol your yard to protect it from both squirrels and ghosts, but when not under attack from these nefarious villains, he loves to play with his friends and loves giving kisses and hugs and getting attention from his people. He’s a fantastic dog and just the best boy. A physically fenced yard is required. Cattle Dog is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio.
