Story
Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Please be patient, we are over capacity and short staffed, we try to get back to everyone quickly, it may be 4-5 days. Meet Mason, he came to us in 2022 as a stray. He was adopted shortly after arriving as he is such a good boy. Mason was having a tough time adjusting to a toddler and after a almost a year of trying to make it work, his adopters posted him to be re-homed, through the re-homing site they found his old owner, who also said he doesn't want to be around children and is scared of some men. Mason is a well trained dog, he needs a home with children over age 14yrs, he is cautious of men, specially men who are loud, he does very well with our two guys here. He needs a home with someone who understands heeler behavior, he loves to play fetch for short periods, specially now that he has lost the some weight, he would love a quiet home, loves calm female dogs, he has no issues with woman. He just needs someone who understands him, he is a very sweet boy. My adoption fee is $100 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many humans and ages live in your home? Male/female for adults? 3. How many animals, types and male/female for dogs? 4. Do you have the patience to allow Mason to get comfortable with you? 5. He needs an owner who can take him on walks and play chase, is this something you can do?

Story
Meet Rosie! If her playfulness doesn't steal your heart her cuddles will! She's got a little bit of everything in her with majority Australian cattle dog, German shepherd, and Golden retriever according to her DNA test. She just turned one (March 15th) and is full grown at around 40 lbs. She is spayed, chipped, and up to date on all shots required for doggy daycare along with those recommended. After living the bachelor life with her Dad for most of her time since she was adopted, she's finding it hard to adjust to her new family with two smaller dogs and two cats. It would be best for her future home to have a larger dog to play with and have an active family with a big yard! She does great with dogs her size and bigger and has no trouble with a day at doggy daycare. She is very smart and very food motivated so she's eager to learn. She does great cuddled in a bed or happily snuggled in her crate through the night! She loves every person she's met and is convinced each person is her new best friend - while she's been around kids ages ten and up, she hasn't spent time around younger children. Rosie has the basics down - potty trained, sit, and stay. She loves walks but gets a bit excited and could use some help polishing up her leash manners. After a long day she loves to curl up on the couch with a good sized bone. Car rides are no problem! Stick a little chicken or beef pate on a lick mat in the shower and she won't even notice you giving her a bath (seriously, it's the easiest thing ever)! Apply at www.hopeshavenfriends.org

Story
Mochi💕, super sweet, female Australian cattle dog, 4 months old and ready for her forever home. She is looking for a fun family that can take her on lots of adventures. She loves playing with other dogs and would make a great pack member, she would love another for a friend in the house. She is great off leash and sticks close by her people, her recall is great as well. She rides in a kennel in the car and sleeps through the night in her kennel perfectly. She’s an active breed that will need regular daily exercise, a property or large yard that she can romp around in would be perfect. She is great with kids and has had good cat experiences.Very sweet temperament and super smart. If you can provide a good forever home for mochi, you can apply at www.hopeshavenfriends.org.

Reba is absolutely gorgeous. This pretty girl is friendly and quite well behaved. She loves people and other dogs, not sure about cats. She walks well on a leash, knows sits, learning to crate train. This girl is ready to be your partner and hit the road. She was rescued from a high kill shelter in southern California.

Story
Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! Mac also enjoys being the only dog. He would prefer a home where he is the center of attention and can soak up all the puppy love from his people. He is a lazy boy and does enjoy snoozing and spending time on the couch napping but at the same time can have his moments where he is ready to go. He is housebroken and does just fine in a crate! If he sounds like the boy for you then don't wait! Click the link and start filling out that application Local adoption fee $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
