Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet, rescueme.org or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Please be patient, we try to get back to everyone quickly. 3rd longest dog resident at 384: Meet Mason, he came to us in 2022 as a stray. He was adopted shortly after arriving as he is such a good boy. Mason was having a tough time adjusting to a toddler and after a almost a year of trying to make it work, his adopters posted him to be re-homed, through the re-homing site they found his old owner, who also said he doesn't want to be around children and is scared of some men. Mason is a well trained dog, he needs a home with children over age 14yrs, he is cautious of men, specially men who are loud, he does very well with our two guys here. He needs a home with someone who understands heeler behavior, he loves to play fetch for short periods, specially now that he has lost the some weight, he would love a quiet home, loves calm female dogs, he has no issues with woman. He just needs someone who understands him, he is a very sweet boy. His play buddy is Cody a Pit Mix (Available for adoption). My adoption fee is $125: Included Neuter, Microchip, vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1lbs bag of food. 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many humans and ages live in your home? Male/female for adults? 3. How many animals, types and male/female for dogs? 4. Do you have the patience to allow Mason to get comfortable with you? 5. He needs an owner who can take him on walks and play chase, is this something you can do?

Story
Momma MJ💜 is back at Hopes Haven. She was rescued by us about two years ago and came in with a litter of puppies. All puppies were adopted and after quite a few months MJ was finally adopted. Her new family now has had her for about a year and a half unfortunately they have to move and felt the move would be too stressful for her. So unfortunately mama MJ is looking for a home again. She’s a three-year-old Cattle dog/Basenji mix. She’s a happy energetic girl. Needs an active home and someone she can depend on. She’s nervous at first of new situations but comes around and is ready for fun. She’s good with other dogs and kids, cats unknown. If you can finally give MJ the home she deserves please apply at www.hopeshavenfriends.org.

Story
Hello everybody, my name is Julep! I am a happy go lucky girl who loves everybody. I also enjoy playing wrestle with other dogs so much; I am a little nervous around cats so I leave them alone. I have a heeler body and ears with the lovable forehead of a pitbull. I am about 1 year-old, with lots of mental energy. I enjoy bothering my elder foster brother, so I get to practice lots of impulse control and respecting animal communication. I do wonderfully in the crate. I am also potty trained - I did stay on leash for a week at my new foster home, so I could learn the ways of the house and so I know what areas are for potty, for play, or for relaxing. I enjoy soft chew toys that we play tug with. I also enjoy hard chew toys like Benebone for my crate time. I walk pretty well on leash, but sometimes I get a little excited when all the smells hit! So being a 50lb girl, I am learning pressure-release with the slip lead and prong collar. I have high food drive so teaching this new language has been really easy!

Jake is sponsored by Keith Osborne.Hi my name is Jake!'m a bit of a goofball, but in the most endearing way. I love to explore and go on walks. I'm pretty smart too - I've mastered all the basic commands and a few fun tricks to boot. Sometimes, I can be a little shy, especially in new situations. I'm looking for a calm and peaceful home, where I can feel safe and loved. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and a whole lot of love to my forever home. Story
In a world of fur and joy, there's a Heeler named Brownie, oh so coy, With fur as red as autumn leaves, he's the cleverest of canine thieves. At two, he's full of boundless glee, a furry friend for you and me. Smart as a whip, this Heeler boy, his heart's a treasure, a boundless joy. In tricks and flips, he finds delight, learning with all his canine might. Two years old, his spirit free, a loyal friend, he longs to be. Attuned to you, his person dear, his love's a bond that's crystal clear. Bestest friend, he aims to be, beside you through eternity. Fetch and roll, and sit and stay, he'll dance and prance, bright as the day. With every bark, a tale he'll weave, of loyalty that won't deceive. He dreams of walks and treats galore, his heart, your love, forevermore. Brownie, the Heeler, red and bright, a canine star, a pure delight. In fields of green and skies so blue, he'll be the bestest friend to you. Brownie has the desire to be with his person and would make a great and loving support dog or full time companion. He is focused on his people (and the belly rubs they give!!!) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)
