Story
Zuko is a kind and loving blue heeler. She will be 2 years old on January 11th of 2026. She's incredibly intelligent and loves to be active. However, Zuko does not take well to being in a cage while we're at work. She's potty trained but will have accidents in the house if she's upset with you. Highly anxious dog who needs someone who will have the time and energy to be with her and train her. She's okay with a child in the home, but not multiple. She's fine with other dogs if they're not aggressive or overly "rowdy."

Story
Melody is the only puppy left in her litter! This CUTIE is a 10 week old, Australian Cattle Dog, Heeler, and Border Collie mixes. The one thing those breeds have in common is HERDING. This is something that comes natural to them and shouldn’t be punished. They like to control their environment and may herd kids or other animals by nipping at their feet. These breeds get labeled as biters since adopters aren’t aware and puts a “bite history” on their record making it difficult to adopt out.  Ideally we would LOVE an adopter with experience with these breeds!  She will need consistent training since they are very intelligent. With these breeds, they are high energy breeds. They will NEED DAILY MENTAL AND PHYSICAL STIMULATION. If they are bored, they can be destructive. With them being smart, they are usually eager to please. This makes training easier for adopters.  As always, when adopting a puppy, you should also plan to socialize them so they succeed as an adult. This helps them have positive experiences and develop coping skills.  We are a 100% volunteer 501c3 and rely solely on donations of our supporters and volunteers KLN 16814 ##2613006##

Story
Here's what my friends at the shelter had to say about me! “When I first met Aura, she immediately reminded me of one of my own fosters who had just come off the euth list. She has that same gentle look, petite stature, and playful-but-manageable energy. Aura is incredibly attentive to her people and loves taking in the world around her. I’ve taken her out three different times now, and I fall a little more in love with her each time. She’ll play fetch for a few minutes, but then she settles right into cuddle mode — just leaning into you while you sit together and watch life go by.”

He walks beautifully on leash, rides in the car like a pro, and is always up for any adventure—whether it’s hiking with his foster mom, playing with kids or with other doggie friends, or snuggling on the couch during your favorite show. Casey is both kennel and house trained, making him an easy fit into family life. ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Brody – a 5 year-old, 65-pound neutered male Cattle Dog/Pitbull mix with the perfect mix of playful energy and easygoing charm. Currently in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS, Brody is ready to transport out of state once his forever family is approved. Brody is that rare, wonderful balance of being active enough to enjoy outdoor adventures and mellow enough to fully embrace a lazy day of Netflix and cuddles. Whether he’s chasing a toy in the backyard or melting into your side with his signature tongue-out smile, Brody is the definition of a lovable goofball. He doesn’t mind getting dressed up for holidays or themed events—he’s happy to strut in his rodeo best or festive costume, just as long as he’s doing it with his people. Brody has done best with friendly, laid-back female dogs and tends to prefer a more relaxed playmate. Because of his size and love for running, he may be a bit much for smaller or more timid dogs, but he’s also fully content being your one-and-only pup, as long as he has space to stretch his legs and get some zoomies out in the yard. A home with a secure backyard is ideal for him to enjoy some off-leash play. He’s a gentle sweetheart with people—always happy to meet new faces and has done well with the children he’s met. Because of his playful energy, we recommend a home with older, dog-savvy kids (8–10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to respectfully interact with dogs. Brody would love nothing more than a buddy to play with, run around the yard, and then wind down with for snuggles. No cats for Brody, please, as he’s not quite sure how to share space with feline friends. When it comes to leash manners, Brody is a total gentleman. He walks calmly on a loose leash, stays close by, and enjoys a good stroll. He’s also fully housebroken and crate trained, and does wonderfully in his crate when left unsupervised, especially since he currently shares a home with other dogs. He loves his plush toys—especially giving their faces a little “customization” with his enthusiastic chomps! Brody is smart, food-motivated, and eager to please. He thrives in a home that offers structure, consistency, and encouragement. His foster mom has put in great work helping him polish his obedience skills, and he’s made huge progress! While he may still get a little excited around assertive male dogs, with calm guidance and continued positive experiences, he’s continued to show how well he can adapt. He would be a great match for someone with experience with Cattle Dogs, Pitbulls, or other intelligent working breeds. These dogs are deeply loyal, affectionate, and thrive when they have a purpose—whether that’s going on a hike, learning a new trick, or just being your loyal shadow. Brody doesn’t need a super active lifestyle, but he would love a couple of daily walks, light adventure time, and maybe a fun activity like scent work, agility, or basic obedience classes to keep his mind sharp and his bond with you strong. At the end of the day, Brody is a happy, affectionate, low-maintenance boy who’s easy to please. All he wants is a soft bed, a few toys, a cozy home, and someone to love him. He’s come so far during his time in foster care and is more than ready to start his next chapter with a family who sees how truly special he is. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him?
