Story
Meet Flower! She is around 3 years old and we believe she is a heeler mix. She is utd on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She weighs around 45lbs. She is shy with new people but with some treats and kind words she’ll come around. Once she comes around she is a ball of excitement. She has lived with dogs and children. She is not good with small dogs or cats. She would do great in a house that would be willingly to help her get comfortable with the world and go on adventures. She would probably be happy as an only dog or with just one friend! She is ready to snuggle on the couch and learn to sleep in bed with you. She would love to wear a sweater in this cold weather. She will do ANYTHING for a treat. If you think Flower might be a great fit for your home and lifestyle, please submit your application. Story
Meet Rodger, the adorable boy with both good looks AND personality. We think Rodger is somewhere between 2-4 years old, maybe a cattle dog/husky mix, currently just under 50 lbs. He came in to the shelter as a stray severely malnourished and with a significant limp. The vets determined he had a dislocated hip from an old injury. He is now recovering from his surgery and doing fantastic in his foster home. He is doing great with rehab and gaining some much-needed weight. Rodger is UTD on all vaccines, HW negative, and neutered. He has medium energy, is great with leash walking, house trained, crate trained, knows basic obedience, and is good with dogs of all sizes. At the shelter he ignored the cats in the cat room (his foster home doesn’t have cats). If you are looking for a sweet companion, Rodger would be an excellent choice. Story
Meet Laramie, a super sweet, 6.5 month old, red heeler mix. She is spayed, utd on vaccines, chipped and on heartworm prevention. She is a nice medium size, weighting around 30lbs. When you meet Laramie what you will see is an aloof, scared pup, who only trusts her foster mom. She came to her foster mom at 3.5 months old and they have had time to build that trust. She may not let you touch her because she scared. She is a sensitive little one, and harsh voices crush her heart. What you will not see is the happy pup that gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, big and small. You will not see her frolic in the yard chasing grasshoppers. You will not see her come up to her foster mom for pets and kisses, lean in for a little cuddle, affectionate but not clingy. You will not see the little soul working hard to learn her manners, how quickly she house and kennel trained, how she learned to ring the bells to go outside, or how she alerts to questionable noises, vacuum cleaners out of place, etc. You will not see the amazing girl she is. You will not see how devoted she can be to her person and friends. BUT, if you thought she was a good match for you, and you invested a week or two getting to know her and letting her get to know you – man oh man, you would have an amazing lifetime friend. THEN you would see it all! She loves to go for car rides, is easy on the leash, and has shown great recall in controlled settings. If you think she might be the companion you are looking for, please submit your adoption form. Copy this link into your browser to access form: https://form.jotform.com/201527297286058

Story
Cherry is an approximately 3 year old Heeler mix that weighs 35 pounds. She is house trained, uses a doggie door and she is kennel trained. She is up to date on all her shots, heartworm negative and recently spayed. This beautiful girl is sweet, affectionate and a loyal companion once she trust you. However, she is defensive when meeting people especially men and it will take time and patience for her to learn to trust. Cherry was abused and neglected before coming into APAC and would do best with someone who has experience with this type of dog. Cherry has not been around many children so not sure how she would behave with them. Cherry is completely house broken, quiet, loves snuggling with her favorite person and is the perfect playmate with her doggy pals. This girl is truly an amazing dog once you get to know her and would be a wonderful and protective companion for a woman or couple with loving understanding. Cherry’s adoption fee is $165. If you think Cherry might be a great match for you, please submit your application. You can find the application by copying this link into your browser: https://form.jotform.com/201527297286058
