Story
Meet Mason! This incredibly sweet boy is looking for a new forever home.He is a 5 year old Australian Shepherd mix, about 70 pounds, and full of love (and energy)! His current caretakers are an elderly couple, in their 80's, who stepped in to help when a family member could no longer care for him due to medical issues. While they adore Mason, he's a bit too energetic for their lifestyle, and they want to make sure he finds a home that can keep up with him. Mason's ideal home would be an active family with older children or no children. He hasn't spent time with kids but has not shown any aggression toward them. Mason Is good with other dogs and would also be ok as the only dog in the home. Mason is up to date on vaccinations and is fully crate trained and house trained! He is a love bug, full of heart and is awaiting his next adventure!    Please consider helping this sweet adorable guy and apply today! Mason can't wait to snuggle and play!    ##2458820##

Story
Meet FiFi a.k.a. “Rotunda” ✨ Please help us welcome this absolute sweetheart to the ReLeashed Rescue family! 💕 FiFi came was an owner surrender to a very high-intake shelter after her owner could no longer care for her. We also learned she had previously been adopted from another shelter two counties over… so this isn’t her first time having her world turned upside down. 💔 Imagine the confusion and heartbreak when animal control showed up and took her from the only home she knew. Despite all of that, FiFi has the MOST loving, forgiving heart. Here’s what we’ve learned about this amazing girl so far:🐾 Total LOVE BUG – she just wants to be close to her people🐾 Friendly with everyone she meets (humans AND dogs!)🐾 Knows how to sit🐾 Potty trained & crate trained 🙌🐾 Heartworm NEGATIVE 💪🐾 When she gets excited, she spins in circles like a little tornado 🌪️ (it’s the cutest thing ever!)🐾 Coming in at a little over 70 lbs 🥴 – she could benefit from a few walks, so if you need a walking buddy… she’s your girl! FiFi is a beautiful husky/Australian shepherd mix with so much love to give. All she wants is a TRUE forever home where she will never have to wonder what’s next again. If you’re ready for a loyal, goofy, affectionate best friend who will give you her whole heart… FiFi is waiting for you. ❤️ 📩 Message us if you’re interested in adopting this special girl!

Despite the name, Kevin is a girl. She is 8 yrs old, weights 45lbs, and loves attention! Despite her age, she is young at heart and has a lot of energy. She loves walks, chewing on sticks, playing fetch, and swimming. She does well with (older) kids, but becomes anxious around toddlers. Her favorite treats are bananas and peanut butter.

Story
Birch is a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd with a sweet nature and lots of potential. He came to us from an overcrowded county shelter after being found as a stray, so we’re still getting to know all the wonderful things about him. Birch is very friendly and enjoys meeting new people, quickly showing off his affectionate side. He walks well on leash and, with a slow and proper introduction, has done well with other dogs so far. Like many Aussies, Birch is extremely high energy and will need an active home committed to giving him plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He can also be a bit anxious, especially in busy or loud environments, so he would do best in a calmer home with limited foot traffic while he continues to build confidence and learn that the world is a safe place. Birch is still working on his kennel training and may have occasional accidents, so he’ll benefit from a patient family willing to provide structure, consistency, and guidance. With the right home to support him, Birch has all the makings of a loyal, loving, and fun companion. Birch currently weighs about 30lbs., is approximately 1 years old (est. birth date 04/02/2025), and his adoption fee is $510. Birch has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Birch, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
I AM CURRENTLY IN FOSTER!Hi, I’m Orpheus — but my foster family calls me Opie.I’m a very sweet, good-natured boy who’s been through more than my heart should have had to handle. I’m fully housebroken, I absolutely love other dogs, and I’m learning — slowly but surely — that the world doesn’t have to be such a scary place.I am extremely fearful, and that fear is deeply imprinted from earlier experiences in my life. New people, unfamiliar environments, loud noises, and too much stimulation can be overwhelming for me. Building trust with me takes time, patience, and a calm presence. I don’t do well with being rushed, talked at, or “love-bombed” — for me, comfort comes from quiet energy, predictable routines, and respectful body language. When trust does begin to form, that’s where the magic happens. After two months in foster care, I’ve started seeking out affection on my own terms and have even begun snuggling on the couch with my foster mom. Those moments are incredibly special because they’re earned — and they mean everything.I would thrive in a home with space, including a dedicated area where I can feel safe and decompress. Having at least one confident, friendly dog in the home is very important for me — other dogs help me feel secure and act as a bridge between me and the human world.I’m not the kind of dog who will greet you at the door right away — but for the right person, willing to move at my pace and let trust grow naturally, I will be a deeply rewarding companion. If you believe in quiet progress, patience, and the beauty of watching a fearful dog learn to feel safe, I may be the one you’ve been waiting for.Currently, I am available for adoption. If you`re interested in adopting me, please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 or Friday and Saturday 1-5. All of my love and kisses, Orpheus /(^.^)\",AVAILABLE"
