Story
Todd Phox is an exceptionally smart and high-energy guy.  We believe he is a mix of a Carolina Dog and a Cattle Dog/Heeler. He is about 1.5 years old and weighs around 45 pounds.   Todd Phox is super athletic and loves to wrestle with other dogs - sometimes, he plays a little roughly, but he responds well to corrections. Both of his breeds are very energetic dogs, and Todd Phox is no exception. He absolutely loves his walks and walks very well on a leash. Are you a runner?  Todd will be happy to run with you.  Todd Phox is highly intelligent and enjoys training, including learning new tricks and commands.  He already knows, "sit, down, and shake" and is an extremely quick study.  He is also crate and house-trained.  Because of  Todd Phox's energy, having a fenced yard will benefit your family and Todd as it provides an outlet. But Todd Phox does know how to relax - once he is tired, he will hang out on his foster family's deck while watching over his yard or chewing on his toys, but be careful with your shoes, or he might chew those too!   Because he is part Carolina Dog, he is independent and not overly affectionate.  But when he wants to play, he pokes you with his nose to check on you or to engage you to play with him; he likes tug of war, fetch, and overall ball throwing, etc., and he loves to interact with his people. Todd Phox's best home is with a family without small children because he can be jumpy. But he would love to jump into your heart.   More pictures of Mr.Todd can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/gp/125343018@N03/2F8D0n94DW         An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms    Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.           April 25, 2024, 10:56 pm

They call me Mildred, and though I'm only 2 years old, I have lived a lot of life! I was once pregnant with my 10 beautiful puppies who have since moved into homes of their own, and even faced prospects of the end before getting rescued from my previous shelter. As for these days, I love to hike and explore the wilderness with anyone who would like to go with me. I tend to be more of an alpha in my packs, so I steer clear of other dogs, but I love any and all humans and am excited to live somewhere with them that I can call home! Story
Interview with Dash:Interviewer: How did you arrive to the Animal Shelter? Dash: Well, I was walking down the street looking for leftover Thanksgiving scraps when I noticed that someone pulled their vehicle over to the side of the road. I assumed they had some scraps for me, so I walked up to them and jumped into their vehicle and guess what, no scraps, how rude!!!! The man who picked me up told me that he didn't want me to get hurt and took me to the Animal Shelter. Interviewer: Did you like being at the Animal Shelter? Dash: At first no, because there were a lot of rowdy dogs in the area I was staying at. It scared me a bit and I just stayed to myself, but then one day I went out for a walk and they put me in the Administrative Supervisors office, which was awesome. I went from a small apartment to a condo! A big upgrade. Interviewer: What has changed since you arrived at the Animal Shelter?Dash: A lot has changed! When I arrived at the Shelter, I was heartworm positive. I went into a foster home while going through my treatment. Thankfully, my treatment has been completed and starting March 15th, I can return to my normal activities, like playing fetch with a tennis ball and going for long walks! I cannot wait, I'm so excited for this day to arrive. Also, my foster parent wanted to adopt me, which I was super excited about because she has been one of the best foster parents that any dog could ask for, but unfortunately with inflation and being on a limited income, she cannot adopt me. But that's okay because my forever family is out there, I just know it.Interviewer: What do you look for in a family?Dash: Okay, I am going to be a little picky here. I am a woman's man, but if the woman I adore has a man in her home, I'll be okay with that ONLY under these circumstances: 1) Men like to wear these weird things on their heads that scare me sometimes. My foster parent told me those are called "hats". Not sure what they do, but they sure do scare me and prefer they not be worn when I'm around. 2)No loud power tools in my presence. Those things scare me too.Other than those 2 circumstances, I should be perfectly fine with a male in the home. What will not work for me is children. They scare me as well. Anytime I get scared, I tend to nip at their shoes. I guess it's the Heeler in me that makes me do that. I am not a fan of cats and I have never met a dog before, so I'm not sure how I'd do with them.Interviewer: Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?Dash: I love belly rubs, cuddling, sleeping on the couch and sleeping in my foster parents' bed. I'm usually a couch potato, but sometimes I like to run around a bit. I am housetrained, but there are 2 things to know about that. 1) I can usually hold my "business" for some time, but if you are not around and I really have to use the bathroom, I try to become the Kool-Aid man and bust through the wall to get outside to use the bathroom. Trust me I know it sounds bad, but I do not want to make a mess in the home. 2) When you take me out to use the bathroom, it may take me a bit to find the right place, but once I find that place, that will become my forever bathroom.Interviewer: I know you are currently in a foster home. How can adopters meet you?Dash: They can contact the Animal Shelter at 678-965-7185 or email Adoptions@forsythco.com to set up an appointment to meet me.

Story
Hey, I'm Rickey a 4 year old, spunky pup who loves to make you laugh! Sometimes my back legs walk faster than my front when I'm excited. I adore butt scratches and even do a little dance for them. My best buddy is a cat, and we play and compete for mom's attention. I've been with my mom for a year. She's sad, but she wants what's best for me. I hear the new place will have a yard – how cool is that? Maybe I'll even find a buddy to play with. I've been to daycare – always five stars. I enjoy making new doggy friends once we get properly introduced. I do have a bit of a thing, though – when I see a new dog, I get so excited that I forget some dogs don't like being barked at. Oops! I'm smart, trained with an e-collar, and usually will pick up on commands if you ask me nicely. I know commands like heel, leave it, and "place." Looking for a patient owner with a yard and experienced with reactive dogs. Heeler personality so please look up what that means. Email: Hannahstiebel@gmail.com

Story
A SMART & ACTIVE FRIEND:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 63 lbs.     Hi, I’m Punky!  I was adopted as a young puppy, but things didn’t work out long term as I came into my Cattle Dog traits, so I’m back with Mostly Mutts looking for a Cattle Dog loving home!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met nice dogs at Mostly Mutts and although I did not play with them, I did not show any aggression. My former family reported that I liked the dogs I met in my former home.  Best no smaller dogs though as I do have prey drive. / No cats due to prey drive. / I met kids recently at Mostly Mutts and LOVED THEM, and I liked the kids in my former family, though I was wary of their friends coming into the home, so kids 15+ would be best.  Let’s meet!  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My trainer describes me as very sweet and lovable, well behaved, and well trained too.  I’m affectionate and have a protective nature which is me being true to my breed.  I’ve shown some guarding of my people and my home towards strangers entering.  Mostly Mutts is working with me on this and will work with my new family too!  / My energy level is 6 – 8, so I’ll will want regular exercise. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program, and I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'leave it' and 'place' commands so far.  I also use proper door etiquette and accept nice strangers without jumping on them at Mostly Mutts. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and were good in my former home too. / My potty habits are good at Mostly Mutts and were good in my former home too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like learning so you can train me to do a lot! I also like being active with my people, cuddling and playing.  A volunteer took me to play in a stream at the park and I really enjoyed that.  I also do well in the car so take me on some fun adventures!  / Other than the above-mentioned things, I’m a bit hesitant walking around traffic, but I’m getting better, and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m looking for a great family, that knows my breed, to have a great life with!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    April 25, 2024, 7:01 am

Story
I’m Bear Bennett. I’m a 4-5-year-old lab mix with much love to give. I love spending time with my 2-leggeds, and I follow them everywhere, so they have nicknamed me Velcro. When my foster Mom is working, I lay by her feet. I enjoy playing with all the other dogs in my foster home. I met some chickens, and I think they’re pretty cool, but I keep to myself. But my foster mom says I am a little too interested in cats. When asked, I know how to ‘sit’ and ‘lay down’. My favorite hobby is going for walks with my foster mom and dad. When they take out my leash, I get excited, so I hop around and show them my pearly whites with a huge smile! I also love to hug and cuddle with my foster peeps. They think I’m very entertaining and cute as a button. I also enjoy going for car rides. I am very good at sharing my toys and food, too.  I don’t like to go into a crate, but the good news is that I don’t need one because I’m completely house-trained and never get into any mischief.  My foster mom says I would do best in a chill home either with another dog or I can be the king of my castle. If you’re looking for a new best friend who will give you unconditional love, look no further.      An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions.
