Story
For a little dude he’s got a lot of spunk. He’s not afraid to back down but he doesn’t look for fights; he can hold his own. I think he would be great with other dogs, cats and kids and he is good for finding the newspaper for doing his business. He is also good on his own and playing on his own; he will find a toy and play on his own. He doesn’t need to always be given attention. He has a bit more energy and will need lots of walks. He loves being held and I think he’s going to be a well-rounded dog. He’s pretty smart. He loves to lick and give kisses and loves snuggles and will sit there and stare at you when you’re holding him and then he wants to go and run around. Kyan is estimated to be 10 weeks old and 8 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Saturday, March 2, 1:00-3:00pm: Forgotten Star Brewing, 38 Northern Stacks Drive, Fridley, MN 55421 https://www.facebook.com/events/889755909452305 Saturday, March 9, 11:00 am-1:00pm: Bachman's; 8200 University Ave NE, Fridley, MN 55432 https://www.facebook.com/events/671449875161971 Animal attendance is subject to change based on their availability. Good with dogs,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Hello, my name is Turnip. Full disclosure, I don’t really know what makes up my DNA, but I am guessing 25% ears and a mix of cattle dog and something else. But, let's bring up my oversized ears again … have you seen my photos? SUPER CUTE! Regardless, as far as I’m concerned, I’m just ME…a beautiful and very happy female puppy who simply loves life! My favorite activities include gnawing on big dog bones, playing with any toy that happens to be nearby, and snuggling with my people…especially when I get to bury my long, little body under some cozy blankets! I haven’t met any kids or cats, but I am good with other dogs. I do well on the leash and I’m potty trained, but I do not like that prison cell you humans call a kennel/crate. In fact, I will holler if I’m put in there so let me just say you have been warned! Hee, hee!! Anyway, I’m not much for words…I’d rather cuddle so all I need now is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. Believe me when I tell you that I am a total sweetheart and if you’ll just welcome me into your world, we will make the most amazing memories together…I promise! Love, Turnip *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home. This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  I’m new to this whole family atmosphere thing.  I’m still learning about all the things.  When I am not in my safe place (which may take me a little bit in my forever home) I am nervous and skittish.  But once I learn it’s a safe zone, I relax and let me sweet and loving nature come out. I’m still working hard at potty training, leash walking and the kennel.  I can tell you that I am NOT a kennel fan.  I’ll let you know all about it so probably best not to have shared walls.  I also need a fenced yard because I haven’t spent a lot of energy learning about leashes.  And I like playing with the resident dog.  Well, one of them because the senior dog here isn’t into playing.  I do need another dog in my forever home so I can learn to trust, get on a routine and a confident one to show me the ropes and play with.. I like playing with toys and stuffed animals when not playing with the other dog here.  There is even a cat who isn’t fond of me chasing it, but I think a dog savvy cat and a set of eyes on me, we could be friends. My foster mom wanted me to tell you how sweet and SUPER SMART I am.  But that I also have a fear about going outside.  That’s where another confident dog could help me.  I’m getting better every day.  I have lots of puppy energy and am working on not getting into things.  If you are my person/family, I’d love to have you fill out an application and we can meet! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey! Hi! Hello?! Um, is this thing on? If I had a checklist, attention would be number one on said checklist! I’m Tiegan, I’m a mini size version of an aussie, or what I like to call, cute size. They say that some of the biggest gifts in life come in the smallest packages. And I, I am that small package, all 19 lbs of me! Even though I’m a mini aussie, I still have big, big energy.  Let me tell ya, the other day, the other foster pups and I were zooming around the yard, and it was paradise. Boy, a fenced yard would be amazing in my new home, I could run around with an indestructible toy, get my energy fix, and maybe we could chase each other? A dream! In fact, let me jot that down on my checklist, a yard. Loud noises tend to make me do a double take, so the familiar scenery of a yard seems like a safe bet!   Shall we continue? Next on the list would be affection from a loving human that showers me with cuddles. I would be happy to plop down next to you anytime you’ll let me and in return I’ll give you the sweetest kisses. Wait. Is that someone at the door? Ope! That’s my cue to leave. I think I’ll take a second over here, ya know, act normal, do your thing I just need a moment with the new faces. I do warm up, I’m just a bit shy at first. I’ll break out of my shell once trust is achieved. I do, however, make friends with other dogs pretty quickly. I don’t need one in my new home, but I could make a good playmate if that’s the situation. I am still getting used to kids, I’ve met a few, but only one at a time. Too many little ones could be overwhelming, so maybe a home with adults would be better for me!  I’m a good girl when it comes to crates, and I know many commands including come, wait, leave it, off and go potty. I catch on quickly. I do understand that the potty is outside, but let's get on a schedule or if you have a doggie door for the yard, that would be nice too. I’m not aggressive on a leash, but I’m still trying to understand the concept of it. Should I go faster than you? Slower? I feel confused about it, so let's work on that together if you take me on adventures. I remain quiet in the car and I really only bark when I’m alarmed. Aside from being a little reserved at first, I promise I’ll never leave your side and be your best friend if you’re willing to give me a bit of your love in return. This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans.
